1 Forsothe whanne myche tyme was passid after that the Lord had youe pees to Israel, for alle naciouns `in cumpas weren suget; and whanne Josue was thanne of long lijf, and `of ful eld age, Josue clepide al Israel,
1 Passados muitos dias, tendo o Senhor dado repouso a Israel de todos os seus inimigos em redor, e sendo Josué já velho, de idade muito avançada,
2 and the grettere men in birthe, and the princes, and dukis, and maistris, and seide to hem, Y `wexide elde, and Y am of grettere age;
2 chamou Josué a todo o Israel, aos seus anciãos, aos seus cabeças, aos seus juízes e aos seus oficiais, e disse-lhes: Eu já sou velho, de idade muito avançada;
3 and ye seen alle thingis whiche youre Lord God hath do to alle naciouns `bi cumpas, hou he fauyt for you.
3 e vós tendes visto tudo quanto o Senhor vosso Deus fez a todas estas nações por causa e vós, porque é o Senhor vosso Deus que tem pelejado por vós.
4 And now for he departide to you bi lot al the lond, fro the eest part of Jordan `til to the grete see, and many naciouns ben left yit,
4 Vede que vos reparti por sorte estas nações que restam, para serem herança das vossas tribos, juntamente com todas as nações que tenho destruído, desde o Jordão até o grande mar para o pôr do sol.
5 youre Lord God `schal distrie hem, and schal take awei fro youre face; and ye schulen welde the lond, as he bihiyte to you.
5 E o Senhor vosso Deus as impelirá, e as expulsará de diante de vós; e vós possuireis a sua terra, como vos disse o Senhor vosso Deus.
6 Oneli be ye coumfortid, and be ye bisy, that ye kepe alle thingis that ben writun in the book of Moises lawe, and bowe not awei fro tho, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side,
6 Esforçai-vos, pois, para guardar e cumprir tudo quanto está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, para que dela não vos desvieis nem para a direita nem para a esquerda;
7 lest aftir that ye han entrid to the hethene men, that schulen be among you, ye swere in the name of `the goddis of hem, and ye serue tho goddis, and worschipe hem.
7 para que não vos mistureis com estas nações que ainda restam entre vós; e dos nomes de seus deuses não façais menção, nem por eles façais jurar, nem os sirvais, nem a eles vos inclineis.
8 But cleue ye to youre Lord God, which thing ye han do `til in to this dai;
8 Mas ao Senhor vosso Deus vos apegareis, como fizeste até o dia de hoje;
9 and thanne the Lord God schal do awei in youre siyt grete folkis, and strongeste; and noon schal mow ayenstonde you.
9 pois o Senhor expulsou de diante de vós grandes e fortes nações, e, até o dia de hoje, ninguém vos tem podido resistir.
10 Oon of you schal pursue a thousynde men of enemyes, for youre Lord God schal fiyte for you, as he bihiyte.
10 um só homem dentre vós persegue a mil, pois o Senhor vosso Deus é quem peleja por vós, como já vos disse.
11 Be ye war bifore moost diligentli of this thing oneli, that ye loue youre Lord God.
11 Portanto, cuidai diligentemente de amar ao Senhor vosso Deus.
12 That if ye wolen cleue to the errouris of these folkis that dwellen among you, and wolen medle mariagis with hem, and couple frenschipis,
12 Porque se de algum modo vos desviardes, e vos apegardes ao resto destas nações que ainda ficam entre vós, e com elas contrairdes matrimônio, e entrardes a elas, e elas a vós,
13 wite ye riyt now, that `youre Lord God schal not do awei hem bifor youre face, but thei schulen be to you in to a dich, and a snare, and in to hirtyng of youre side, and in to stakis in youre iyen, til youre Lord God take awei you, and distrie fro this beste loond, which he yaf to you.
13 sabei com certeza que o Senhor vosso Deus não continuará a expulsar estas nações de diante de vós; porém elas vos serão por laço e rede, e açoite às vossas ilhargas, e espinhos aos vossos olhos, até que pereçais desta boa terra que o Senhor vosso Deus vos deu.
14 Lo! Y entre to dai in to the weye of al erthe; and ye schulen knowe `with al soule, that of al wordis whiche the Lord bihiyte hym silf to yyue to you, not oon passide in veyn.
14 Eis que vou hoje pelo caminho de toda a terra; e vós sabeis em vossos corações e em vossas almas que não tem falhado uma só palavra de todas as boas coisas que a vosso respeito falou o Senhor vosso Deus; nenhuma delas falhou, mas todas se cumpriram.
15 Therfor as he fillide in werk that, that he bihiyte, and alle thingis bifelden `bi prosperite, so he schal brynge on you whateuer thing of yuelis he manaasside, til he take awei you, and distrie fro this beste lond, which he yaf to you.
15 E assim como vos sobrevieram todas estas boas coisas de que o Senhor vosso Deus vos falou, assim trará o Senhor sobre vós todas aquelas más coisas, até vos destruir de sobre esta boa terra que ele vos deu.
16 For ye braken the couenaunt of `youre Lord God, which he made with you, and serueden alien goddis, and worschipeden hem, sone and swiftli the strong veniaunce of the Lord schal rise `on to you; and ye schulen be takun awei fro this beste lond, which he yaf to you.
16 Quando transgredirdes o pacto do Senhor vosso Deus, que ele vos ordenou, e fordes servir a outros deuses, inclinando-vos a eles, a ira do Senhor se acenderá contra vós, e depressa perecereis de sobre a boa terra que ele vos deu.
