1 In that tyme, seith the Lord, thei schulen caste out the boonys of the kingis of Juda, and the boonys of princes therof, and the boonys of prestis, and the boonys of profetis, and the boonys of hem that dwelliden in Jerusalem fro her sepulcris;
1 Naquele tempo, diz o Senhor , tirarão os ossos dos reis de Judá, e os ossos dos seus príncipes, e os ossos dos sacerdotes, e os ossos dos profetas, e os ossos dos habitantes de Jerusalém para fora das suas sepulturas;
2 and thei schulen leie abrood tho boonys to the sunne, and moone, and to al the knyythod of heuene, which thei louyden, and which thei seruyden, and aftir whiche thei yeden, and whiche thei souyten, and worschipiden; tho schulen not be gaderid, and schulen not be biried; tho schulen be in to a dunghil on the face of erthe.
2 e expô-los-ão ao sol, e à lua, e a todo o exército do céu, a quem tinham amado, e a quem tinham servido, e após quem tinham ido, e a quem tinham buscado e diante de quem se tinham prostrado; não serão recolhidos nem sepultados; serão como esterco sobre a face da terra.
3 And alle men schulen cheese deth more than lijf, whiche ben left of this worst kynrede, in alle places that ben left, to whiche places Y castide hem out, seith the Lord of oostis.
3 E escolher-se-á antes a morte do que a vida de todo o resto dos que restarem desta raça maligna que ficar nos lugares onde os lancei, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
4 And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord seith these thingis, Whether he that schal falle, schal not rise ayen? and whether he that is turned awei, schal not turne ayen?
4 Dize-lhes mais: Assim diz o Senhor : Cairão os homens e não se tornarão a levantar? Desviar-se-ão e não voltarão?
5 Whi therfor is this puple in Jerusalem turned awei bi turnyng awei ful of strijf? Thei han take leesyng, and nolden turne ayen.
5 Por que, pois, se desvia este povo de Jerusalém com uma apostasia contínua? Retém o engano e não quer voltar.
6 Y perseyuede, and herknede; no man spekith that that is good, noon is that doith penaunce for his synne, and seith, What haue Y do? Alle ben turnede togidere to her cours, as an hors goynge bi fersnesse to batel.
6 Eu escutei e ouvi; não falam o que é reto, ninguém há que se arrependa da sua maldade, dizendo: Que fiz eu? Cada um se desvia na sua carreira como um cavalo que arremete com ímpeto na batalha.
7 A kite in the eir knew his tyme; a turtle, and a swalewe, and a siconye, kepten the tyme of her comyng; but my puple knew not the doom of the Lord.
7 Até a cegonha no céu conhece os seus tempos determinados; e a rola, e o grou, e a andorinha observam o tempo da sua arribação; mas o meu povo não conhece o juízo do Senhor .
8 Hou seien ye, We ben wise men, and the lawe of the Lord is with vs? Verili the fals writyng of scribis wrouyte leesyng.
8 Como, pois, dizeis: Nós somos sábios, e a lei do Senhor está conosco? Eis que em vão tem trabalhado a falsa pena dos escribas.
9 Wise men ben schent, ben maad aferd and takun. For thei castiden awei the word of the Lord, and no wisdom is in hem.
9 Os sábios foram envergonhados, foram espantados e presos; eis que rejeitaram a palavra do Senhor ; que sabedoria, pois, teriam?
10 Therfor Y schal yyue the wymmen of hem to straungeris, and the feeldis of hem to alien eiris; for fro the leeste `til to the mooste alle suen aueryce, fro a profete `til to the preest alle maken leesyng;
10 Portanto, darei suas mulheres a outros, e as suas herdades, a quem as possua; porque, desde o menor até ao maior, cada um deles se dá à avareza; desde o profeta até ao sacerdote, cada um deles usa de falsidade.
11 and thei heeliden the sorowe of the douytir of my puple to schenschipe, seiynge, Pees, pees, whanne no pees was.
11 E curam a ferida da filha de meu povo levianamente, dizendo: Paz, paz; quando não há paz.
12 Thei ben schent, for thei diden abhomynacioun; yhe, rather thei weren not schent bi schenschipe, and kouden not be aschamed. Therfor thei schulen falle among falleris, in the tyme of her visitacioun thei schulen falle, seith the Lord.
12 Porventura, envergonham-se de cometer abominação? Pelo contrário, de maneira nenhuma se envergonham, nem sabem que coisa é envergonhar-se; portanto, cairão entre os que caem e tropeçarão no tempo em que eu os visitar, diz o Senhor .
13 I gaderynge schal gadere hem, seith the Lord; no grape is in the vynes, and figis ben not in the fige tre; a leef felle doun, and Y yaf to hem tho thingis that ben go out ouer.
13 Certamente os apanharei, diz o Senhor ; já não há uvas na vide, nem figos na figueira, e a folha caiu; e até aquilo mesmo que lhes dei se irá deles.
14 Whi sitten we? come ye togidere, entre we in to a strong citee, and be we stille there; for oure Lord hath maad vs to be stille, and yaf to vs drynk the watir of galle; for we han synned to the Lord.
14 Por que nos assentamos ainda? Juntai-vos, e entremos nas cidades fortes e ali estejamos calados; pois já o Senhor , nosso Deus, nos fez calar e nos deu a beber água de fel; porquanto pecamos contra o Senhor .
15 We abididen pees, and no good was; we abididen tyme of medicyn, and lo! drede is.
15 Espera-se a paz, e não há bem: o tempo da cura, e eis o terror.
16 Gnastyng of horsis therof is herd fro Dan; al the lond is moued of the vois of neiyngis of hise werriours; and thei camen, and deuouriden the lond, and the plente therof, the citee, and the dwelleris therof.
16 Já desde Dã se ouve o resfolegar dos seus cavalos; toda a terra treme à voz dos rinchos dos seus fortes; e vêm e devoram a terra, e a sua abundância, e a cidade, e os que habitam nela.
17 For lo! Y schal sende to you the werste serpentis, to whiche is no charmyng; and thei schulen bite you, seith the Lord.
17 Porque eis que enviarei entre vós serpentes e basiliscos, contra os quais não há encantamento, e vos morderão, diz o Senhor .
18 My sorewe is on sorewe, myn herte is mourenynge in me.
18 Oh! Se eu pudesse consolar-me na minha tristeza! O meu coração desfalece em mim.
19 And lo! the vois of cry of the douyter of my puple cometh fro a fer lond. Whether the Lord is not in Sion, ethir the kyng therof is not therynne? Whi therfor stiriden thei me to wrathfulnesse bi her grauun ymagis, and bi alien vanytees?
19 Eis a voz do clamor da filha do meu povo de terra mui remota: Não está o Senhor em Sião? Não está nela o seu Rei? Por que me provocaram à ira com as suas imagens de escultura, com vaidades estranhas?
20 Heruest is passid, somer is endid; and we ben not sauyd.
20 Passou a sega, findou o verão, e nós não estamos salvos.
21 Y am turmentid, and sori on the sorewe of the douyter of my puple; astonying helde me.
21 Estou quebrantado pela ferida da filha do meu povo; ando de luto; o espanto se apoderou de mim.
22 Whether resyn is not in Galaad, ether a leche is not there? Whi therfor the wounde of the douytir of my puple is not heelid perfitli?
22 Porventura, não há unguento em Gileade? Ou não há lá médico? Por que, pois, não teve lugar a cura da filha do meu povo?
