1 Israel, if thou turnest ayen, seith the Lord, turne thou to me; if thou takist awei thin offendyngis fro my face, thou schalt not be mouyd.
1 Se tu voltares, ó Israel, diz o SENHOR, retornarás para mim, e se tu rejeitares as tuas abominações à minha vista, não serás removido.
2 And thou schalt swere, The Lord lyueth, in treuthe and in doom and in riytfulnesse; and alle folkis schulen blesse hym, and schulen preise hym.
2 E tu irás jurar: O SENHOR vive, em verdade, em juízo, e em justiça. E nele as nações serão abençoadas e nele gloriar-se-ão.
3 For the Lord God seith these thingis to a man of Juda and to a dwellere of Jerusalem, Make ye newe to you a lond tilid of the newe, and nyle ye sowe on thornes.
3 Porque assim diz o SENHOR aos homens de Judá e Jerusalém: Arai vossa terra que está em alqueive, e não semeeis no meio de espinhos.
4 Men of Juda, and dwelleris of Jerusalem, be ye circumcidid to the Lord, and do ye awey the filthis of youre hertis; lest perauenture myn indignacioun go out as fier, and be kyndlid, and noon be that quenche, for the malice of youre thouytis.
4 Circuncidai-vos ao SENHOR e removei os prepúcios do vosso coração, vós homens de Judá e habitantes de Jerusalém, para que o meu furor não venha a sair como fogo, e queime tanto que ninguém possa apagá-la, por causa do mal dos vossos feitos.
5 Telle ye in Juda, and make ye herd in Jerusalem; speke ye, and synge ye with a trumpe in the lond; crye ye strongli, and seie ye, Be ye gaderid togidere, and entre we in to stronge citees.
5 Declarai vós em Judá e divulgai em Jerusalém, e dizei: Soprai vós a trombeta na terra. Clamai, ajudai-vos e entremos nas cidades fortificadas.
6 Reise ye a signe in Sion, coumforte ye, and nyle ye stonde; for Y bringe yuel fro the north, and a greet sorewe.
6 Erguei um estandarte em direção a Sião. Batei em retirada, não permaneçais, pois eu trarei o mal desde o norte, e uma grande destruição.
7 A lioun schal `rise vp fro his denne, and the robbere of folkis schal reise hym silf. He is goon out of his place, to sette thi lond in to wildirnesse; thi citees schulen be distried, abidynge stille with out dwellere.
7 O leão surgiu do seu bosque, e o destruidor dos gentios está no seu caminho. Ele saiu de seu lugar para fazer a tua terra desolada, e tuas cidades serão devastadas, sem um habitante.
8 On this thing girde you with heiris; weile ye, and yelle, for the wraththe of the strong veniaunce of the Lord is not turned awei fro you.
8 Por isto, cingi-vos de pano de saco, lamentai e gemei, pois a violenta ira do SENHOR não se desviou de nós.
9 And it schal be, in that dai, seith the Lord, the herte of the king schal perische, and the herte of princis; and the prestis schulen wondre, and the prophetis schulen be astonyed.
9 E isto acontecerá naquele dia, diz o SENHOR, que o coração do rei perecerá, e o coração dos príncipes. E os sacerdotes estarão surpresos, e os profetas se admirarão.
10 And Y seide, Alas! alas! alas! Lord God; therfor whether thou hast disseyued this puple and Jerusalem, seiynge, Pees schal be to you, and lo! a swerd is comun `til to the soule?
10 Então eu disse: Ah, Senhor DEUS! Certamente enganaste grandemente a este povo e a Jerusalém, dizendo: Vós tereis paz, enquanto a espada alcança até a alma.
11 In that tyme it schal be seide to this puple and to Jerusalem, A brennynge wynd in the weies that ben in desert, ben the weies of the douytir of my puple, not to wyndewe, and not to purge.
11 Naquele momento isto será dito a este povo e a Jerusalém: Um vento seco dos altos no deserto em direção à filha do meu povo, não para de ventilar, nem para limpar.
12 A spirit ful of hem schal come to me; and now Y, but Y schal speke my domes with hem.
12 Um grande vento proveniente daqueles lugares virá até mim. Agora também darei eu sentença contra eles.
13 Lo! he schal stie as a cloude, and hise charis as a tempest; hise horsis ben swifter than eglis; wo to vs, for we ben distried.
13 Eis que ele surgirá como nuvens, e as suas carruagens serão como um furacão. Os seus cavalos são mais ligeiros do que águias. Ai de nós! Pois fomos saqueados.
14 Thou Jerusalem, waische thin herte fro malice, that thou be maad saaf. Hou long schulen noiful thouytis dwelle in thee?
14 Ó Jerusalém, lava o teu coração da perversidade, para que tu possas ser salva. Até quando irão teus vãos pensamentos se alojar dentro de ti?
15 For whi the vois of a tellere fro Dan, and makynge knowun an idol fro the hil of Effraym.
15 Pois uma voz declara desde Dã, e divulga aflição desde o monte de Efraim.
16 Reise, ye folkis; lo! it is herd in Jerusalem that keperis ben comun fro a fer lond, and yyuen her vois on the citees of Juda.
16 Fazei menção às nações. Observai, divulgai contra Jerusalém, que vigias vêm de um país distante, e emitem suas vozes contra as cidades de Judá.
17 As the keperis of feeldis thei ben maad on it in cumpas; for it stiride me to wrathfulnesse, seith the Lord.
17 Como guardas de um campo, estão eles contra ela ao seu redor, porque ela rebelou-se contra mim, diz o SENHOR.
18 Thi weyes and thi thouytis han maad this to thee; this malice of thee, for it is bittir, for it touchide thin herte.
18 Teu caminho e teus feitos te trouxeram estas coisas. Esta é tua perversidade, pois ela é amarga, pois ela alcança o teu coração.
19 Mi wombe akith, my wombe akith; the wittis of myn herte ben disturblid in me. Y schal not be stille, for my soule herde the vois of a trumpe, the cry of batel.
19 Minhas entranhas, minhas entranhas! Eu estou com dor em meu próprio coração. Meu coração faz barulho dentro de mim. Eu não posso permanecer em silêncio, porque tu ouviste, ó minha alma, o som da trombeta, o alarme de guerra.
20 Sorewe is clepid on sorewe, and al the lond is distried; my tabernaclis ben wastid sudeynli, my skynnes ben wastid sudeynli.
20 Destruição sobre destruição é anunciada, pois toda a terra está saqueada. De repente minhas tendas estão saqueadas, e minhas cortinas em um momento.
21 Hou longe schal Y se hem that fleen, schal Y here the vois of a clarioun?
21 Até quando verei o estandarte, e ouvirei o som da trombeta?
22 For my fonned puple knew not me; thei ben vnwise sones, and cowardis; thei ben wise to do yuels, but thei kouden not do wel.
22 Pois meu povo é tolo. Eles não me conhecem. Eles são filhos insensatos e nenhum entendimento eles têm. Eles são sábios para fazer o mal, porém para fazer o bem eles não têm conhecimento.
23 Y bihelde the lond, and lo! it was void, and nouyt; and Y bihelde heuenes, and no liyt was in tho.
23 Eu observei a terra, e eis que era sem forma e vazia, e os céus, não tinham luz.
24 Y siy munteyns, and lo! tho weren mouyd, and all litle hillis weren disturblid.
24 Eu observei os montes e eis que tremiam e todas as colinas estremeceram.
25 Y lokide, and no man was, and ech brid of heuene was gon a wey.
25 Eu observei e vi que nenhum homem havia, e todos os pássaros dos céus haviam fugido.
26 Y bihelde, and lo! Carmele is forsakun, and alle citees therof ben distried fro the face of the Lord, and fro the face of the ire of his strong veniaunce.
26 Eu observei e vi que o lugar frutífero era um deserto, e todas as cidades dali estavam demolidas à presença do SENHOR, e por sua violenta ira.
27 For the Lord seith these thingis, Al the lond schal be forsakun, but netheles Y schal not make an endyng.
27 Pois assim disse o SENHOR: A terra toda será desolada. Contudo eu não a destruirei totalmente.
28 The erthe schal mourne, and heuenys aboue schulen make sorewe, for that Y spak; Y thouyte, and it repentide not me, nether Y am turned awei fro it.
28 Por isto a terra irá lamentar e os céus acima ficarão negros, porque eu assim falei, eu planejei isto, e não me arrependi, nem retrocederei disto.
29 Ech citee fledde fro the vois of a knyyt, and of a man schetynge an arowe; thei entriden in to hard places, and stieden in to roochis of stoon; alle citees ben forsakun, and no man dwellith in tho.
29 A cidade inteira fugirá pelo barulho dos cavaleiros e arqueiros. Eles irão adentrar os bosques e escalar as rochas. Toda cidade será abandonada, e nenhum homem habitará nelas.
30 But what schalt thou `destried do? Whanne thou schalt clothe thee with reed scarlet, whanne thou schalt be ourned with a goldun broche, and schalt anoynte thin iyen with wommans oynement, thou schalt be araied in veyn; thi louyeris han dispisid thee, thei schulen seke thi soule.
30 E quando fores assolada, o que farás? Embora tu te vistas com carmesim, embora te adornes com ornamentos de ouro, embora cubras a tua face com pintura, em vão te farias bela. Teus amantes te desprezarão, eles buscarão a tua vida.
31 For Y herd a vois as of a womman trauelynge of child, the angwischis as of a womman childynge; the vois of the douyter of Sion among hem that dien, and spreden abrood her hondis; Wo to me, for my soule failide for hem that ben slayn.
31 Porque eu ouço uma voz como a de uma mulher em trabalho de parto, e a aflição como daquela que dá à luz seu primeiro filho, a voz da filha de Sião, que se lamenta, que estende suas mãos, dizendo: Ai de mim agora! Pois minha alma está exausta por causa dos assassinos.
