1 The Lord schewide to me, and lo! twei panyeris ful of figys weren set bifor the temple of the Lord, aftir that Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, translatide Jeconye, the sone of Joachym, the kyng of Juda, and the princes of hym, and a sutil crafti man, and a goldsmith fro Jerusalem, and brouyte hem in to Babiloyne.
1 O SENHOR me mostrou, e, eis que dois cestos de figos foram colocados perante o templo do SENHOR, depois que Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, levou cativo Jeconias, o filho de Jeoiaquim, rei de Judá, e os príncipes de Judá, com os carpinteiros e ferreiros, de Jerusalém, e os levou para Babilônia.
2 And o panyere hadde ful good figis, as figis of the firste tyme ben wont to be; and o panyere hadde ful yuel figis, that miyten not be etun, for tho weren yuel figis.
2 Um cesto tinha figos muito bons, como os figos que são da primeira maturação, e o outro cesto tinha figos muito ruins, os quais não podiam ser comidos, pois eram muito ruins.
3 And the Lord seide to me, Jeremye, what thing seest thou? And Y seide, Figis, goode figis, ful goode, and yuele figis, ful yuele, that moun not be etun, for tho ben yuele figis.
3 Então disse-me o SENHOR: O que vês tu, Jeremias? E eu disse: Figos; os bons figos, muito bons, e os ruins, muito ruins, que não podem ser comidos, pois são muito ruins.
4 And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
4 Novamente a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
5 and seide, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, As these figis ben goode, so Y schal knowe the transmygracioun of Juda, which I sente out fro this place in to the lond of Caldeis, in to good.
5 Assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel: Como a estes bons figos, assim eu reconhecerei aqueles que foram levados cativos de Judá, e que eu enviei deste lugar, para a terra dos caldeus, para o seu bem.
6 And Y schal sette myn iyen on hem to plese, and Y schal brynge hem ayen in to this lond; and Y schal bilde hem, and Y schal not distrie hem; and Y schal plaunte hem, and Y schal not drawe vp bi the roote.
6 Porque eu colocarei meus olhos sobre eles para o bem, e eu os trarei novamente para esta terra. E eu os edificarei, e não os destruirei; e eu os plantarei, e não os removerei completamente.
7 And Y schal yyue to hem an herte, that thei knowe me, for Y am the Lord; and thei schulen be in to a puple to me, and Y schal be in to God to hem, for thei schulen turne ayen to me in al her herte.
7 E eu lhes darei um coração para que me conheçam, que eu sou o SENHOR. E eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus, porque eles retornarão a mim de todo coração.
8 And as the worste figis ben, that moun not be etun, for tho ben yuele figis, the Lord seith these thingis, So Y schal yyue Sedechie, the kyng of Juda, and the princes of hym, and other men of Jerusalem, that dwelliden in this citee, and that dwellen in the lond of Egipt.
8 E como os figos ruins, que não podem ser comidos, pois são muito ruins, certamente assim diz o SENHOR: Deste modo entregarei Zedequias, rei de Judá, e seus príncipes, e o restante de Jerusalém, que restarem nesta terra, e aqueles que habitarem na terra do Egito.
9 And Y schal yyue hem into trauelyng and turment in alle rewmes of erthe, in to schenschipe, and in to parable, and in to a prouerbe, and in to cursyng, in alle places to whiche Y castide hem out.
9 E eu os entregarei para serem removidos para todos os reinos da terra, para que sofram, e sejam uma desonra, e um provérbio, um insulto, e uma maldição em todos os lugares para onde eu os levarei.
10 And Y schal sende in hem a swerd, and hungur, and pestilence, til thei be wastid fro the lond which Y yaf to hem, and to the fadris of hem.
10 E eu enviarei entre eles a espada, a fome e a peste, até que sejam consumidos de sobre a terra que eu lhes dei, e a seus pais.
