1 The wordis of Jeremye, sone of Helchie, of the preestis that weren in Anathot, in the lond of Beniamyn.
1 Palavras de Jeremias, filho de Hilquias, um dos sacerdotes que estavam em Anatote, na terra de Benjamim.
2 For the word of the Lord was maad to hym in the daies of Josie, the sone of Amon, kyng of Juda, in the threttenethe yeer of his rewme.
2 A palavra do Senhor veio a ele no décimo terceiro ano do reinado de Josias, filho de Amom e rei de Judá.
3 And it was don in the daies of Joachym, the sone of Josie, the king of Juda, til to the endyng of the enleuenthe yeer of Sedechie, sone of Josie, kyng of Juda, til the passyng ouer, ether caitifte, of Jerusalem, in the fyuethe monethe.
3 Veio também nos dias de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, até o fim do décimo primeiro ano do reinado de Zedequias, filho de Josias, rei de Judá. No quinto mês desse ano, os moradores de Jerusalém foram levados ao exílio.
4 And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
4 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:
5 and seide, Bifor that Y fourmede thee in the wombe, Y knewe thee; and bifor that thou yedist out of the wombe, Y halewide thee; and Y yaf thee a profete among folkis.
5 “Antes de formá-lo no ventre materno, eu já o conhecia; e, antes de você nascer, eu o consagrei e constituí profeta às nações.”
6 And Y seide, A! A! A! Lord God, lo! Y kan not speke, for Y am a child.
6 Então eu disse: — Ah!
7 And the Lord seide to me, Nyle thou seie, that Y am a child; for thou schalt go to alle thingis, to whiche Y schal sende thee, and thou schalt speke alle thingis, what euer thingis Y schal comaunde to thee.
7 Mas o Senhor me disse: “Não diga: ‘Não passo de uma criança.’ Porque a todos a quem eu o enviar, você irá; e tudo o que eu lhe ordenar, você falará.
8 Drede thou not of the face of hem, for Y am with thee, to delyuere thee, seith the Lord.
8 Não tenha medo de ninguém, porque eu estou com você para livrá-lo”, diz o
9 And the Lord sente his hond, and touchide my mouth; and the Lord seide to me, Lo! Y haue youe my wordis in thi mouth; lo!
9 Depois, o Senhor estendeu a mão e tocou na minha boca. E o Senhor me disse: “Eis que ponho as minhas palavras na sua boca.
10 Y haue ordeynede thee to day on folkis, and on rewmes, that thou drawe vp, and distrie, and leese, and scatere, and bilde, and plaunte.
10 Veja! Hoje eu o constituo sobre as nações e sobre os reinos, para arrancar e derrubar, para destruir e arruinar, e também para edificar e plantar.”
11 And the word of the Lord was maad to me, and seide, What seest thou, Jeremye?
11 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo: — O que você está vendo, Jeremias? Respondi: — Vejo um ramo de amendoeira.
12 And Y seide, Y se a yerde wakynge. And the Lord seide to me, Thou hast seen wel, for Y schal wake on my word, to do it.
12 O Senhor me disse: — Você viu bem, porque eu estou vigiando para que a minha palavra se cumpra.
13 And the word of the Lord was maad the secounde tyme to me, and seide, What seest thou? Y se a pot buylynge, and the face therof fro the face of the north.
13 Outra vez a palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo: — O que você está vendo? Eu respondi: — Vejo uma panela fervendo, cuja boca se inclina do Norte para cá.
14 And the Lord seide to me, Fro the north schal be schewid al yuel on alle the dwelleris of the lond.
14 Então o Senhor disse: — Do Norte se derramará o mal sobre todos os habitantes da terra.
15 For lo! Y schal clepe togidere alle the naciouns of rewmes of the north, seith the Lord, and thei schulen come, and sette ech man his seete in the entryng of the yatis of Jerusalem, and on alle the wallis therof in cumpas, and on alle the citees of Juda.
15 Pois eis que convoco todas as tribos dos reinos do Norte, diz o Senhor ; elas virão, e cada reino porá o seu trono à entrada dos portões de Jerusalém e contra todas as suas muralhas ao redor e contra todas as cidades de Judá.
16 And Y schal speke my domes with hem on al the malice of hem, that forsoken me, and maden sacrifice to alien goddis, and worschipiden the werk of her hondis.
16 Pronunciarei as minhas sentenças contra os moradores dessas cidades, por causa de toda a maldade deles; pois me abandonaram, queimaram incenso a deuses estranhos e adoraram as obras das suas próprias mãos.
17 Therfor girde thou thi leendis, and rise thou, and speke to hem alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee; drede thou not of the face of hem, for Y schal not make thee for to drede the cheer of hem.
17 Você, Jeremias, prepare-se e vá dizer-lhes tudo o que eu ordenar a você. Não se assuste por causa deles, para que eu não tenha de fazer com que você fique assustado na presença deles.
18 For Y yaf thee to dai in to a strong citee, and in to an yrun piler, and in to a brasun wal, on al the lond, to the kyngis of Juda, and to the princis therof, and to the preestis therof, and to al the puple of the lond.
18 Quanto a mim, eis que hoje ponho você por cidade fortificada, por coluna de ferro e por muralha de bronze, contra todo o país, contra os reis de Judá, contra as suas autoridades, contra os seus sacerdotes e contra o seu povo.
19 And thei schulen fiyte ayens thee, and thei schulen not haue the maistrie; for Y am with thee, seith the Lord, that Y delyuere thee.
19 Eles lutarão contra você, mas não conseguirão derrotá-lo; porque eu estou com você para livrá-lo, diz o Senhor .
