1 But Jhesus wente in to the mount of Olyuete.
1 Jesus foi para o monte das Oliveiras.
2 And eerli eft he cam in to the temple; and al the puple cam to hym; and he sat, and tauyte hem.
2 E, pela manhã cedo, ele voltou novamente ao templo, e todo o povo vinha até ele; e, assentando-se, os ensinava.
3 And scribis and Fariseis bryngen a womman takun in auoutrye, and thei settiden hir in the myddil,
3 E os escribas e fariseus trouxeram-lhe uma mulher pega em adultério, e, colocando-a no meio de todos,
4 and seiden to hym, Maystir, this womman is now takun in auoutrie.
4 disseram-lhe: Mestre, esta mulher foi apanhada em adultério, no próprio ato.
5 And in the lawe Moises comaundide vs to stoone suche; therfor what seist thou?
5 Ora, Moisés nos ordena na lei que tais sejam apedrejadas; mas tu, o que dizes?
6 And thei seiden this thing temptynge hym, that thei myyten accuse hym. And Jhesus bowide hym silf doun, and wroot with his fyngur in the erthe.
6 Isso eles diziam, tentando-o, para poderem ter do que o acusar. Jesus, porém, inclinando-se, escrevia com seu dedo no chão, como se não os ouvisse.
7 And whanne thei abiden axynge hym, he reiside hym silf, and seide to hem, He of you that is without synne, first caste a stoon in to hir.
7 Então, quando eles continuaram a perguntar-lhe, ele levantando-se, disse-lhes: Aquele que dentre vós está sem pecado seja o primeiro que lhe atire uma pedra.
8 And eft he bowide hym silf, and wroot in the erthe.
8 E, tornando a inclinar-se, escrevia no chão.
9 And thei herynge these thingis, wenten awei oon aftir anothir, and thei bigunnen fro the eldre men; and Jhesus dwelte aloone, and the womman stondynge in the myddil.
9 E eles ouvindo isto, sendo condenados por sua própria consciência, saíram um a um, começando no mais velho, até o último; e Jesus foi deixado sozinho, e a mulher em pé no meio.
10 And Jhesus reiside hym silf, and seide to hir, Womman, where ben thei that accusiden thee? no man hath dampned thee.
10 Tendo Jesus se levantado, e não vendo ninguém senão a mulher, ele disse-lhe: Mulher, onde estão aqueles teus acusadores? Nenhum homem te condenou?
11 Sche seide, No man, Lord. Jhesus seide `to hir, Nethir Y schal dampne thee; go thou, and now aftirward nyle thou synne more.
11 E ela disse: Nenhum homem, Senhor. E disse-lhe Jesus: Nem eu te condeno; vai-te, e não peques mais.
12 Therfor eft Jhesus spak to hem, and seide, Y am the liyt of the world; he that sueth me, walkith not in derknessis, but schal haue the liyt of lijf.
12 Então, Jesus tornou a falar-lhes, dizendo: Eu sou a luz do mundo; quem me segue não andará em trevas, mas terá a luz da vida.
13 Therfor the Fariseis seiden, Thou berist witnessyng of thi silf; thi witnessyng is not trewe.
13 Disseram-lhe, pois, os fariseus: Tu dás testemunho de ti mesmo; o teu testemunho não é verdadeiro.
14 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, And if Y bere witnessyng of my silf, my witnessyng is trewe; for Y woot fro whennus Y cam, and whidur Y go.
14 Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhes: Embora eu dê testemunho de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho é verdadeiro; porque eu sei de onde vim, e para onde eu vou; mas vós não podeis dizer de onde vim, nem para onde eu vou.
15 But ye witen not fro whennus Y cam, ne whidur Y go. For ye demen aftir the fleisch, but Y deme no man;
15 Vós julgais segundo a carne, eu a nenhum homem julgo.
16 and if Y deme, my doom is trewe, for Y am not aloone, but Y and the fadir that sente me.
16 E, mesmo que eu julgue, o meu juízo é verdadeiro; porque não sou eu só, mas eu e o Pai que me enviou.
17 And in youre lawe it is writun, that the witnessyng of twei men is trewe.
17 Isto também está escrito na vossa lei, que o testemunho de dois homens é verdadeiro.
18 Y am, that bere witnessyng of my silf, and the fadir that sente me, berith witnessyng of me.
18 Sou eu que dou testemunho de mim mesmo, e o Pai que me enviou dá testemunho de mim.
19 Therfor thei seiden to hym, Where is thi fadir? Jhesus answeride, Nether ye knowen me, nethir ye knowen my fadir; if ye knewen me, perauenture ye schulden knowe also my fadir.
19 Então, lhe disseram: Onde está teu Pai? Jesus respondeu: Vós não me conheceis a mim, nem a meu Pai; se vós me conhecêsseis, também conheceríeis a meu Pai.
20 Jhesus spak these wordis in the tresorie, techynge in the temple; and no man took hym, for his our cam not yit.
20 Essas palavras proferiu Jesus na tesouraria, enquanto ensinava no templo; e nenhum homem lhe pôs as mãos, porque ainda não era chegada a sua hora.
21 Therfor eft Jhesus seide to hem, Lo! Y go, and ye schulen seke me, and ye schulen die in youre synne; whidur Y go, ye moun not come.
21 Então, Jesus disse-lhes novamente: Eu vou pelo meu caminho, e buscar-me-eis, e morrereis no vosso pecado; para onde eu vou, vós não podeis ir.
22 Therfor the Jewis seiden, Whether he schal sle hym silf, for he seith, Whidur Y go, ye moun not come?
22 Então, disseram os judeus: Será que ele vai matar-se a si mesmo? Porque ele diz: Para onde eu vou, vós não podeis ir.
23 And he seide to hem, Ye ben of bynethe, Y am of aboue; ye ben of this world, Y am not of this world.
23 E ele dizia-lhes: Vós sois de baixo, eu sou de cima; vós sois deste mundo, eu não sou deste mundo.
24 Therfor Y seide to you, that ye schulen die in youre synnes; for if ye bileuen not that Y am, ye schulen die in youre synne.
24 Por isso, eu vos disse que morrereis em vossos pecados; porque se não crerdes que Eu Sou Ele, morrereis em vossos pecados.
25 Therfor thei seiden to hym, Who art thou? Jhesus seide to hem, The bigynnyng, which also speke to you.
25 Disseram-lhe, então: Quem és tu? E Jesus lhes disse: Isso mesmo que já desde o princípio vos disse.
26 Y haue many thingis to speke, and deme of you, but he that sente me is sothefast; and Y speke in the world these thingis, that Y herde of hym.
26 Eu tenho muitas coisas que dizer e julgar sobre vós; mas aquele que me enviou é verdadeiro, e o que dele ouvi, isso eu falo ao mundo.
27 And thei knewen not, that he clepide his fadir God.
27 Eles não compreenderam que ele lhes falava do Pai.
28 Therfor Jhesus seith to hem, Whanne ye han areisid mannus sone, thanne ye schulen knowe, that Y am, and of my silf Y do no thing; but as my fadir tauyte me, Y speke these thingis.
28 Disse-lhes, então, Jesus: Quando tiverdes levantado o Filho do homem, então sabereis que Eu Sou Ele, e que nada faço de mim mesmo; mas como o meu Pai me ensinou, falo estas coisas.
29 And he that sente me is with me, and lefte me not aloone; for Y do euermore tho thingis, that ben plesynge to hym.
29 E aquele que me enviou está comigo; o Pai não me tem deixado sozinho, porque eu faço sempre as coisas que lhe agradam.
30 Whanne he spak these thingis, manye bileueden in hym.
30 Falando ele essas coisas, muitos creram nele.
31 Therfor Jhesus seide to the Jewis, that bileueden in hym, If ye dwellen in my word, verili ye schulen be my disciplis;
31 Então, dizia Jesus aos judeus que nele creram: Se vós permanecerdes na minha palavra, verdadeiramente sois meus discípulos,
32 and ye schulen knowe the treuthe, and the treuthe schal make you fre.
32 e conhecereis a verdade, e a verdade vos libertará.
33 Therfor the Jewis answeriden to hym, We ben the seed of Abraham, and we serueden neuere to man; hou seist thou, That ye schulen be fre?
33 Eles responderam-lhe: Nós somos a semente de Abraão, e nunca fomos escravos de nenhum homem; como dizes tu: Sereis feito livres?
34 Jhesus answeride to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, ech man that doith synne, is seruaunt of synne.
34 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Todo aquele que comete pecado é servo do pecado.
35 And the seruaunt dwellith not in the hows with outen ende, but the sone dwellith with outen ende.
35 E o servo não permanece para sempre na casa; mas o Filho permanece para sempre.
36 Therfor if the sone make you fre, verili ye schulen be fre.
36 Se, pois, o Filho vos libertar, verdadeiramente sereis livres.
37 Y woot that ye ben Abrahams sones, but ye seken to sle me, for my word takith not in you.
37 Eu sei que sois semente de Abraão; contudo, procurais matar-me, porque a minha palavra não encontra lugar em vós.
38 Y speke tho thingis, that Y say at my fadir; and ye doen tho thingis, that ye sayn at youre fadir.
38 Eu falo do que eu vi com meu Pai; e vós fazeis o que vistes com vosso pai.
39 Thei answerden, and seiden to hym, Abraham is oure fadir. Jhesus seith to hem, If ye ben the sones of Abraham, do ye the werkis of Abraham.
39 Eles responderam e disseram-lhe: Nosso pai é Abraão. Jesus disse-lhes: Se fôsseis filhos de Abraão, faríeis as obras de Abraão.
40 But now ye seken to sle `me, a man that haue spoken to you treuthe, that Y herde of God; Abraham dide not this thing.
40 Procurais agora matar-me, a mim, o, homem que vos tem dito a verdade, que tenho ouvido de Deus; isso Abraão não fez.
41 Ye doen the werkis of youre fadir. Therfor thei seiden to hym, We ben not borun of fornycacioun; we han o fadir, God.
41 Vós fazeis as obras de vosso pai. Disseram-lhe, então: Nós não nascemos da fornicação, nós temos um Pai, Deus.
42 But Jhesus seith to hem, If God were youre fadir, sotheli ye schulden loue me; for Y passide forth of God, and cam; for nether Y cam of my silf, but he sente me.
42 Disse-lhes, pois, Jesus: Se Deus fosse o vosso Pai, vós me amaríeis; pois eu procedo e vim de Deus, não vim de mim mesmo, mas ele me enviou.
43 Whi knowen ye not my speche? for ye moun not here my word.
43 Por que não entendeis a minha linguagem? Por não poderdes ouvir a minha palavra.
44 Ye ben of the fadir, the deuel, and ye wolen do the desyris of youre fadir. He was a mansleere fro the bigynnyng, and he stood not in treuthe; for treuthe is not in hym. Whanne he spekith lesyng, he spekith of his owne; for he is a liere, and fadir of it.
44 Vós sois de vosso pai, o diabo, e quereis satisfazer os desejos de vosso pai. Ele foi homicida desde o princípio, e não permaneceu na verdade, porque não há verdade nele. Quando ele fala mentira, fala do que lhe é próprio; porque é um mentiroso, e pai dela.
45 But for Y seie treuthe, ye bileuen not to me.
45 E porque eu vos digo a verdade, não acreditais em mim.
46 Who of you schal repreue me of synne? if Y sey treuthe, whi bileuen ye not to me?
46 Quem dentre vós me convence de pecado? E se eu vos digo a verdade, por que não credes em mim?
47 He that is of God, herith the wordis of God; therfor ye heren not, for ye ben not of God.
47 Quem é de Deus escuta as palavras de Deus; por isso, vós não as escutais, porque não sois de Deus.
48 Therfor the Jewis answeriden, and seiden, Whether we seien not wel, that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a deuel?
48 Então responderam os judeus e disseram-lhe: Não dizemos nós bem que és samaritano, e que tens demônio?
49 Jhesus answerde, and seide, Y haue not a deuel, but Y onoure my fadir, and ye han vnhonourid me.
49 Jesus respondeu: Eu não tenho demônio, mas eu honro a meu Pai, e vós me desonrais.
50 For Y seke not my glorye; there is he, that sekith, and demeth.
50 Eu não busco a minha glória; há um que a busque e julgue.
51 Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, if ony man kepe my word, he schal not taste deth with outen ende.
51 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Se um homem guardar a minha palavra, nunca verá a morte.
52 Therfor the Jewis seiden, Now we han knowun, that thou hast a deuel. Abraham is deed, and the prophetis, and thou seist, If ony man kepe my word, he schal not taste deth withouten ende.
52 Então, disseram-lhe os judeus: Agora nós sabemos que tu tens demônio. Morreu Abraão, e os profetas; e tu dizes: Se algum homem guardar a minha palavra, ele nunca provará a morte.
53 Whether thou art grettere than oure fader Abraham, that is deed, and the prophetis ben deed; whom makist thou thi silf?
53 És tu maior do que o nosso pai Abraão, que morreu? E os profetas, que morreram, quem pretendes ser tu?
54 Jhesus answeride, If Y glorifie my silf, my glorie is nouyt; my fadir, is that glorifieth me, whom ye seien, that he is youre God.
54 Jesus respondeu: Se eu me honro a mim mesmo, a minha honra nada é; quem me honra é meu Pai, o qual dizeis que é vosso Deus.
55 And ye han not knowun hym, but Y haue knowun hym; and if Y seie that Y knowe hym not, Y schal be a liere lich to you; but Y knowe hym, and Y kepe his word.
55 E vós não o conheceis, mas eu conheço-o; e se eu disser que não o conheço, eu serei mentiroso como vós; mas eu conheço-o e guardo a sua palavra.
56 Abraham, youre fadir, gladide to se my dai; and he saiy, and ioyede.
56 Vosso pai Abraão regozijou-se de ver o meu dia; e viu-o, e alegrou-se.
57 Thanne the Jewis seiden to hym, Thou hast not yit fifti yeer, and hast thou seien Abraham?
57 Disseram-lhe então os judeus: Tu ainda não tens cinquenta anos e viste Abraão?
58 Therfor Jhesus seide to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, bifor that Abraham schulde be, Y am.
58 Disse-lhes Jesus: Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Antes que Abraão existisse, eu sou.
59 Therfor thei token stonys, to caste to hym; but Jhesus hidde hym, and wente out of the temple.
59 Então eles pegaram pedras para lhe atirarem; mas Jesus ocultou-se, e saiu do templo, indo pelo meio deles, e assim partiu.
