1 Forsothe Adam knewe Eue his wijf, which conseyuede, and childide Cayn, and seide, Y haue gete a man bi God.
1 E Adão conheceu Eva, sua mulher; e ela concebeu e teve Caim, e disse: Concebi um homem do SENHOR.
2 And efte sche childide his brother Abel. Forsothe Abel was a kepere of scheep, and Cayn was an erthe tilyere.
2 E ela também teve Abel, irmão dele. E Abel era um guardador de ovelhas, mas Caim era cultivador da terra.
3 Sotheli it was don after many daies, that Cayn offride yiftis to the Lord of the fruytis of erthe;
3 E no passar do tempo, aconteceu que Caim trouxe do fruto da terra uma oferta ao SENHOR.
4 and Abel offride of the first gendrid of his floc, and of the fatnesse of tho. And the Lord bihelde to Abel and to the yiftis of hym;
4 E Abel, ele também trouxe das primícias e da gordura do seu rebanho. E o SENHOR teve consideração por Abel e por sua oferta;
5 sotheli he bihelde not to Cayn and to hise yiftis. And Cayn was wrooth greetli, and his cheer felde doun.
5 mas por Caim e por sua oferta ele não teve consideração. E Caim ficou muito irado, e o seu semblante caiu.
6 And the Lord seide to hym, Whi art thou wrooth, and whi felde doun thi face?
6 E o SENHOR disse a Caim: Por que estás irado? E por que o teu semblante está caído?
7 Whether not if thou schalt do wel, thou schalt resseyue; but if thou doist yuele, thi synne schal be present anoon in the yatis? but the desir therof schal be vndur thee, and thou schalt be lord therof.
7 Se tu fazes bem, não serás aceito? E se não fazes bem, o pecado jaz à porta. E para ti será o desejo dele, e tu deves governar sobre ele.
8 And Cayn seide to Abel his brother, Go we out. And whanne thei weren in the feeld, Cayn roos ayens his brother Abel, and killide him.
8 E Caim falou com Abel, seu irmão; e aconteceu que, quando eles estavam no campo, Caim se levantou contra Abel, seu irmão, e o assassinou.
9 And the Lord seide to Cayn, Where is Abel thi brother? Which answerde, Y woot not; whether Y am the kepere of my brothir?
9 E o SENHOR disse a Caim: Onde está Abel, teu irmão? E ele disse: Eu não sei; sou eu guardador do meu irmão?
10 And God seide to Cayn, What hast thou do? the vois of the blood of thi brother crieth to me fro erthe.
10 E ele disse: O que tu fizeste? A voz do sangue de teu irmão está clamando a mim desde a terra.
11 Now therfor thou schalt be cursid on erthe, that openyde his mouth, and resseyuede of thin hond the blood of thi brothir.
11 E agora tu és amaldiçoado desde a terra, que abriu a sua boca para receber o sangue do teu irmão da tua mão;
12 Whanne thou schalt worche the erthe, it schal not yyue his fruytis to thee; thou schalt be vnstable of dwellyng and fleynge aboute on erthe in alle the daies of thi lijf.
12 quando tu cultivares a terra, ela não te dará mais a sua força; fugitivo e errante serás na terra.
13 And Cayn seide to the Lord, My wickidnesse is more than that Y disserue foryyuenesse; lo!
13 E Caim disse ao SENHOR: Meu castigo é maior do que eu posso suportar.
14 to dai thou castist me out fro the face of the erthe; and Y schal be hid fro thi face, and Y schal be vnstable of dwellyng and fleynge aboute in erthe; therfore ech man that schal fynde me schal slee me.
14 Eis que tu me expulsaste neste dia da face da terra; e de tua face eu estarei escondido; e serei fugitivo e errante na terra. E acontecerá que todo aquele que me encontrar me matará.
15 And the Lord seide to hym, It schal not be don so, but ech man that schal slee Cayn shal be punyschid seuenfold. And the Lord settide a signe in Cayn, that ech man that schulde fynde hym schulde not slee hym.
15 E o SENHOR lhe disse: Portanto, todo aquele que matar Caim, a vingança será tomada sobre ele sete vezes. E o SENHOR fixou uma marca sobre Caim, para que qualquer que o achasse não o matasse.
16 And Cayn yede out fro the face of the Lord, and dwellide fleynge aboute in erthe, at the eest coost of Eden.
16 E Caim saiu da presença do SENHOR, e habitou na terra de Node, no leste do Éden.
17 Forsothe Cayn knewe his wiif, which conseyuede, and childide Enoth; and Cayn bildide a citee, and clepide the name therof of the name of hise sone Enoth.
17 E Caim conheceu sua mulher, e ela concebeu, e teve Enoque; e ele edificou uma cidade, e chamou o nome da cidade de Enoque, conforme o nome do seu filho.
18 Forsothe Enoth gendride Irad, and Irad gendride Manyael, and Manyael gendride Matusael, and Matusael gendride Lameth;
18 E a Enoque nasceu Irade, e Irade gerou Meujael, e Meujael gerou Metusael, e Metusael gerou Lameque.
19 that took twei wyues, the name to o wijf was Ada, and the name to the tother was Sella.
19 E Lameque tomou para si duas esposas. O nome de uma era Ada, e o nome da outra Zilá.
20 And Ada gendride Jabel, that was the fadir of dwellers in tentis and of shepherdis;
20 E Ada teve Jabal; ele foi o pai dos que habitam em tendas, e dos que têm gado.
21 and the name of his brother was Tubal, he was the fadir of syngeris in harpe and orgun.
21 E o nome de seu irmão era Jubal. Ele foi o pai de todos os que manuseiam a harpa e o órgão.
22 And Sella gendride Tubalcayn, that was an hamerbetere, and smyyt on alle werkis of bras and of yrun; forsothe the sistir of Tubalcayn was Neoma.
22 E Zilá, ela também teve Tubalcaim, um instrutor de todo artífice de bronze e ferro; e a irmã de Tubalcaim era Naamá.
23 And Lameth seide to his wyues Ada and Sella, Ye wyues of Lameth, here my vois, and herkne my word; for Y haue slayn a man bi my wounde, and a yong wexynge man bi my `violent betyng;
23 E Lameque disse a suas mulheres, Ada e Zilá: Ouvi a minha voz, mulheres de Lameque, escutai as minhas palavras, pois eu matei um homem pela minha ferida e um jovem pelo meu sofrimento.
24 veniaunce schal be youun seuenfold of Cayn, forsothe of Lameth seuentisithis seuensithis.
24 Se Caim for vingado sete vezes, Lameque certamente setenta vezes sete.
25 Also yit Adam knewe his wijf, and sche childide a sone, and clepide his name Seth, and seide, God hath put to me another seed for Abel, whom Cayn killide.
25 E Adão conheceu novamente sua mulher; e ela teve um filho, e chamou seu nome Sete, porque Deus, ela disse, me designou outra semente no lugar de Abel, a quem Caim matou.
26 But also a sone was borun to Seth, which sone he clepide Enos; this Enos bigan to clepe inwardli the name of the Lord.
26 E a Sete, também nasceu um filho; e ele chamou seu nome Enos. Então os homens começaram a invocar o nome do SENHOR.
