1 And so whanne these thingis weren don, it was teld to Joseph, that his fadir was sijk. And he took hise twei sones, Manasses and Effraym, and he disposide to go.
1 Depois destas coisas disseram a José: Eis que teu pai está enfermo. Então José tomou consigo os seus dois filhos, Manassés e Efraim.
2 And it was seid to the elde man, Lo! thi sone Joseph cometh to thee; which was coumfortid, and sat in the bed.
2 Disse alguém a Jacó: Eis que José, teu olho, vem ter contigo. E esforçando-se Israel, sentou-se sobre a cama.
3 And whanne Joseph entride to hym, he seide, Almyyti God apperide to me in Luza, which is in the lond of Canaan, and blesside me,
3 E disse Jacó a José: O Deus Todo-Poderoso me apareceu em Luz, na terra de Canaã, e me abençoou,
4 and seide, Y schal encreesse and multiplie thee, and Y schal make thee in to cumpanyes of puplis, and Y schal yyue to thee this lond, and to thi seed aftir thee, in to euerlastinge possessioun.
4 e me disse: Eis que te farei frutificar e te multiplicarei; tornar-te-ei uma multidão de povos e darei esta terra à tua descendência depois de ti, em possessão perpétua.
5 Therfor thi twei sones, that ben borun to thee in the lond of Egipt bifore that Y cam hidir to thee, schulen be myne, Effraym and Manasses as Ruben and Symeon schulen be arettid to me;
5 Agora, pois, os teus dois filhos, que nasceram na terra do Egito antes que eu viesse a ti no Egito, são meus: Efraim e Manassés serão meus, como Rúben e Simeão;
6 forsothe the othere whiche thou schalt gendre aftir hem schulen be thine; and thei schulen be clepid bi the name of her britheren in her possessiouns.
6 mas a prole que tiveres depois deles será tua; segundo o nome de seus irmãos serão eles chamados na sua herança.
7 Forsothe whanne Y cam fro Mesopotamye, Rachel was deed to me in the lond of Canaan, in thilke weie; and it was the bigynnyng of somer; and Y entride in to Effrata, and beriede hir bisidis the weie of Effrata, which bi anothir name is clepid Bethleem.
7 Quando eu vinha de Padã, morreu-me Raquel no caminho, na terra de Canaã, quando ainda faltava alguma distância para chegar a Efrata; sepultei-a ali no caminho que vai dar a Efrata, isto é, Belém.
8 Forsothe Jacob seiy the sones of Joseph, and seide to him, Who ben these?
8 Quando Israel viu os filhos de José, perguntou: Quem são estes?
9 He answeride, Thei ben my sones, whiche God yaf to me in this place. Jacob seide, Brynge hem to me that Y blesse hem.
9 Respondeu José a seu pai: Eles são meus filhos, que Deus me tem dado aqui. Continuou Israel: Traze-mos aqui, e eu os abençoarei.
10 For `the iyen of Israel, dasewiden for greet eelde, and he myyte not se clereli; and he kisside and collide tho children ioyned to hym, and seide to his sone,
10 Os olhos de Israel, porém, se tinham escurecido por causa da velhice, de modo que não podia ver. José, pois, fê-los chegar a ele; e ele os beijou e os abraçou.
11 Y am not defraudid of thi siyt; ferthermore God schewide to me thi seed.
11 E Israel disse a José: Eu não cuidara ver o teu rosto; e eis que Deus me fez ver também a tua descendência.
12 And whanne Joseph hadde take hem fro `the fadris lappe, he worschipide lowe to erthe.
12 Então José os tirou dos joelhos de seu pai; e inclinou-se à terra diante da sua face.
13 And he sette Effraym on his riyt side, that is, on the lift side of Israel; forsothe he settide Manasses in his lift side, that is, on the riyt side of the fadir; and he ioynede bothe to hym.
13 E José tomou os dois, a Efraim com a sua mão direita, à esquerda de Israel, e a Manassés com a sua mão esquerda, à direita de Israel, e assim os fez chegar a ele.
14 Which helde forth the riyt hond, and settide on `the heed of Effraym, the lesse brothir; sotheli he settide the left hond on `the heed of Manasses, that was the more thury birthe. Jacob chaungide `the hondes,
14 Mas Israel, estendendo a mão direita, colocou-a sobre a cabeça de Efraim, que era o menor, e a esquerda sobre a cabeça de Manassés, dirigindo as mãos assim propositadamente, sendo embora este o primogênito.
15 and blesside his sone Joseph, and seide, God, in whos siyt my fadris Abraham and Isaac yeden; God, that fedith me fro my yong wexynge age til in to present day;
15 E abençoou a José, dizendo: O Deus em cuja presença andaram os meus pais Abraão e Isaque, o Deus que tem sido o meu pastor durante toda a minha vida até este dia,
16 the aungel that delyuerede me fro alle yuelis, blesse thes children, and my name be clepid on hem, and the names of my fadris Abraham and Ysaac; and wexe thei in multitude on erthe.
16 o anjo que me tem livrado de todo o mal, abençoe estes mancebos, e seja chamado neles o meu nome, e o nome de meus pois Abraão e Isaque; e multipliquem-se abundantemente no meio da terra.
17 Forsothe Joseph seiy that his fadir hadde set the riyt hond on the heed of Effraym, and took heuyli, and he enforside to reise the fadris hond takun fro the heed of Effraym, and to bere `ouer on `the heed of Manasses.
17 Vendo José que seu pai colocava a mão direita sobre a cabeça de Efraim, foi-lhe isso desagradável; levantou, pois, a mão de seu pai, para a transpor da cabeça de Efraim para a cabeça de Manassés.
18 And he seide to the fadir, Fadir, it acordith not so; for this is the firste gendrid; sette thi riyt hond on the heed `of hym.
18 E José disse a seu pai: Nãa assim, meu pai, porque este é o primogênito; põe a mão direita sobre a sua cabeça.
19 Which forsook and seide, Y woot, my sone, Y woot; and sotheli this child schal be in to puplis, and he schal be multiplied; but his yonger brother schal be more than he, and `his seed schal encreesse in to folkis.
19 Mas seu pai, recusando, disse: Eu o sei, meu filho, eu o sei; ele também se tornará um povo, ele também será grande; contudo o seu irmão menor será maior do que ele, e a sua descendência se tornará uma multidão de nações.
20 And he blesside hem in that tyme, and seide, Israel schal be blessid in thee, Joseph, and it schal be seid, God do to thee as to Effraym and as to Manasses. And he settide Effraym bifore Manasses;
20 Assim os abençoou naquele dia, dizendo: Por ti Israel abençoará e dirá: Deus te faça como Efraim e como Manassés. E pôs a Efraim diante de Manassés.
21 and seide to Joseph, his sone, Lo! Y die, and God schal be with you, and schal lede you ayen to the lond of youre fadris;
21 Depois disse Israel a José: Eis que eu morro; mas Deus será convosco, e vos fará tornar para a terra de vossos pais.
22 Y yyue to thee o part ouer thi britheren which Y took fro the hand of Amorei, in my swerd and bowe.
22 E eu te dou um pedaço de terra a mais do que a teus irmãos, o qual tomei com a minha espada e com o meu arco da mão dos amorreus.
