1 And so Isaac clepide Jacob, and blesside hym, and comaundide to hym, and seide, Nyle thou take a wijf of the kyn of Canaan; but go thou,
1 Isaque, pois, chamou Jacó, e o abençoou, e ordenou-lhe, dizendo: Não tomes mulher dentre as filhas de Canaã.
2 and walke forth in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to the hows of Batuel, fadir of thi modir, and take to thee of thennus a wijf of the douytris of Laban, thin vncle.
2 Levanta-te, vai a Padã-Arã, à casa de Betuel, pai de tua mãe, e toma de lá uma mulher dentre as filhas de Labão, irmão de tua mãe.
3 Sotheli Almyyti God blesse thee, and make thee to encreesse, and multiplie thee, that thou be in to cumpanyes of puplis;
3 Deus Todo-Poderoso te abençoe, te faça frutificar e te multiplique, para que venhas a ser uma multidão de povos; seu
4 and God yyue to thee the blessyngis of Abraham, and to thi seed aftir thee, that thou welde the lond of thi pilgrymage, which he bihiyte to thi grauntsir.
4 e te dê a bênção de Abraão, a ti e à tua descendência contigo, para que herdes a terra de tuas peregrinações, que Deus deu a Abraão.
5 And whanne Ysaac hadde left hym, he yede forth, and cam in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to Laban, the sone of Batuel of Sirie, the brother of Rebecca, his modir.
5 Assim despediu Isaque a Jacó, o qual foi a Padã-Arã, a Labão, filho de Betuel, arameu, irmão de Rebeca, mãe de Jacó e de Esaú.
6 Forsothe Esau seiy that his fadir hadde blessid Jacob, and hadde sent him in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, that he schulde wedde a wijf of thennus, and that aftir the blessyng he comaundide to Jacob, and seide, Thou schalt not take a wijf of the douytris of Canaan;
6 Ora, viu Esaú que Isaque abençoara a Jacó, e o enviara a Padã-Arã, para tomar de lá mulher para si, e que, abençoando-o, lhe ordenara, dizendo: Não tomes mulher dentre as filhas de Canaã,
7 and that Jacob obeiede to his fadir `and modir, and yede in to Sirie;
7 e que Jacó, obedecendo a seu pai e a sua mãe, fora a Padã-Arã;
8 also Esau preuyde that his fadir bihelde not gladli the douytris of Canaan.
8 vendo também Esaú que as filhas de Canaã eram más aos olhos de Isaque seu pai,
9 And he yede to Ismael, and weddide a wijf, with out these whiche he hadde bifore, Melech, the douyter of Ismael, sone of Abraham, the sistir of Nabaioth.
9 foi-se Esaú a Ismael e, além das mulheres que já tinha, tomou por mulher a Maalate, filha de Ismael, filho de Abraão, irmã de Nebaiote.
10 Therfor Jacob yede out of Bersabee, and yede to Aran.
10 Partiu, pois, Jacó de Beer-Seba e se foi em direção a Harã;
11 And whanne he hadde come to sum place, and wolde reste ther inne aftir the goynge doun of the sunne, he took of the stoonus that laien ther, and he puttide vndur his heed, and slepte in the same place.
11 e chegou a um lugar onde passou a noite, porque o sol já se havia posto; e, tomando uma das pedras do lugar e pondo-a debaixo da cabeça, deitou-se ali para dormir.
12 And he seiye in sleep a laddir stondynge on the erthe, and the cop ther of touchinge heuene; and he seiy Goddis aungels stiynge vp and goynge doun ther bi,
12 Então sonhou: estava posta sobre a terra uma escada, cujo topo chegava ao céu; e eis que os anjos de Deus subiam e desciam por ela;
13 and the Lord fastned to the laddir, seiynge to hym, Y am the Lord God of Abraham, thi fadir, and God of Isaac; Y schal yyue to thee and to thi seed the lond in which thou slepist.
13 por cima dela estava o Senhor, que disse: Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de Abraão teu pai, e o Deus de Isaque; esta terra em que estás deitado, eu a darei a ti e à tua descendência;
14 And thi seed schal be as the dust of erthe, thou schalt be alargid to the eest, and west, and north, and south; and alle lynagis of erthe schulen be blessid in thee and in thi seed.
14 e a tua descendência será como o pó da terra; dilatar-te-ás para o ocidente, para o oriente, para o norte e para o sul; por meio de ti e da tua descendência serão benditas todas as famílias da terra.
15 And Y schal be thi kepere, whidur euer thou schalt go; and Y schal lede thee ayen in to this lond, and Y schal not leeue no but Y schal fil alle thingis whiche Y seide.
15 Eis que estou contigo, e te guardarei por onde quer que fores, e te farei tornar a esta terra; pois não te deixarei até que haja cumprido aquilo de que te tenho falado.
16 And whanne Jacob hadde wakyd of sleep, he seide, Verili the Lord is in this place, and Y wiste not.
16 Ao acordar Jacó do seu sono, disse: Realmente o Senhor está neste lugar; e eu não o sabia.
17 And he seide dredynge, Hou worschipful is this place! Here is noon other thing no but the hows of God, and the yate of heuene.
17 E temeu, e disse: Quão terrível é este lugar! Este não é outro lugar senão a casa de Deus; e esta é a porta dos céus.
18 Therfor Jacob roos eerli, and took the stoon which he hadde put vndur his heed, and reiside in to a title, and helde oile aboue.
18 Jacó levantou-se de manhã cedo, tomou a pedra que pusera debaixo da cabeça, e a pôs como coluna; e derramou-lhe azeite em cima.
19 And he clepide the name of that citee Bethel, which was clepid Lusa bifore.
19 E chamou aquele lugar Betel; porém o nome da cidade antes era Luz.
20 Also he auowide a vow, and seide, If God is with me, and kepith me in the weie in which Y go, and yyueth to me looues to ete, and clothis to be clothid,
20 Fez também Jacó um voto, dizendo: Se Deus for comigo e me guardar neste caminho que vou seguindo, e me der pão para comer e vestes para vestir,
21 and Y turne ayen in prosperite to the hows of my fadir, the Lord schal be in to God to me.
21 de modo que eu volte em paz à casa de meu pai, e se o Senhor for o meu Deus,
22 And this stoon, which Y reiside in to a title, schal be clepid the hows of God, and Y schal offre tithis to thee of alle thingis whiche thou schalt yyue to me.
22 então esta pedra que tenho posto como coluna será casa de Deus; e de tudo quanto me deres, certamente te darei o dízimo.
