1 Forsothe Isaac wexe eld, and hise iyen dasewiden, and he miyte not se. And he clepide Esau, his more sone, and seide to hym, My sone! Which answerde, Y am present.
1 E aconteceu que, quando Isaque era velho e seus olhos estavam escuros, de modo que ele não podia ver, ele chamou Esaú, seu filho mais velho, e lhe disse: Meu filho; e ele lhe disse: Eis que eu estou aqui.
2 To whom the fadir seide, Thou seest that Y haue woxun eld, and Y knowe not the dai of my deeth.
2 E ele disse: Eis que agora eu estou velho, e não sei o dia da minha morte.
3 Take thin armeres, `arewe caas, and a bowe, and go out; and whanne thou hast take ony thing bi huntyng,
3 Agora, portanto, rogo-te, toma as tuas armas, tua aljava e o teu arco, e sai ao campo, e traz-me alguma caça,
4 make to me a seew therof, as thou knowist that Y wole, and brynge that Y ete, and my soule blesse thee bifore that Y die.
4 e faz-me uma carne saborosa, tal como eu gosto, e traze-a para mim, para que eu possa comer, para que a minha alma te abençoe antes que eu morra.
5 And whanne Rebecca hadde herd this thing, and he hadde go in to the feeld to fille the comaundment of the fadir,
5 E Rebeca ouviu quando Isaque falou com Esaú, seu filho. E Esaú foi ao campo para caçar alguma caça e trazê-la.
6 sche seide to hir sone Jacob, Y herde thi fadir spekynge with Esau, thi brothir, and seiynge to him, Brynge thou me of thin huntyng,
6 E Rebeca falou a Jacó, seu filho, dizendo: Eis que eu ouvi teu pai falar com Esaú, teu irmão, dizendo:
7 and make thow metis, that Y ete, and that Y blesse thee bifor the Lord bifor that Y die.
7 Traz-me uma caça, e faz-me uma carne saborosa, para que eu coma e te abençoe diante do SENHOR antes da minha morte.
8 Now therfor, my sone, assent to my counsels,
8 Agora, portanto, meu filho, obedece à minha voz de acordo com o que eu te ordenar.
9 and go to the floc, and brynge to me tweyne the beste kidis, that Y make metis of tho to thi fadir, whiche he etith gladli;
9 Vai agora ao rebanho e traz-me de lá das cabras dois bons cabritos, e eu farei deles uma carne saborosa para teu pai, tal como ele gosta.
10 and that whanne thow hast brouyt in tho metis, and he hath ete, he blesse thee bifore that he die.
10 E tu a levarás a teu pai, para que ele coma e para que ele te abençoe antes da sua morte.
11 To whom Jacob answerde, Thou knowist that Esau my brother is an heeri man, and Y am smethe; if my fadir `touchith and feelith me,
11 E Jacó disse a Rebeca, sua mãe: Eis que Esaú, meu irmão, é um homem peludo, e eu sou um homem liso;
12 Y drede lest he gesse that Y wolde scorne him, and lest he brynge in cursyng on me for blessyng.
12 se porventura meu pai me tocar, eu lhe parecerei como um enganador, e eu trarei maldição sobre mim, e não bênção.
13 To whom the modir seide, My sone, this cursyng be in me; oonly here thou my vois, and go, and brynge that that Y seide.
13 E sua mãe lhe disse: Sobre mim esteja a tua maldição, meu filho. Somente obedece à minha voz, e vai, e traze-mos.
14 He yede, and brouyte, and yaf to his modir. Sche made redi metis, as sche knewe that his fadir wolde,
14 E ele foi, e buscou, e os trouxe à sua mãe. E sua mãe fez uma carne saborosa, tal como seu pai gostava.
15 and sche clothide Jacob in ful goode clothis of Esau, whiche sche hadde at home anentis hir silf.
15 E Rebeca tomou os melhores vestidos de Esaú, seu filho mais velho, que estavam com ela na casa, e as colocou sobre Jacó, seu filho mais novo.
16 And sche `compasside the hondis with litle skynnys of kiddis, and kyuerede the `nakide thingis of the necke;
16 E ela colocou as peles dos cabritos sobre as mãos dele, e sobre a lisura do seu pescoço.
17 and sche yaf seew, and bitook the loouys whiche sche hadde bake.
17 E ela deu a carne saborosa e o pão que ela havia preparado na mão de seu filho Jacó.
18 And whanne these weren brouyt in, he seide, My fadir! And he answerde, Y here; who art thou, my sone?
18 E ele foi a seu pai, e disse: Meu pai. E ele disse: Aqui estou. Quem és tu, meu filho?
19 And Jacob seide, Y am Esau, thi first gendrid sone. Y haue do to thee as thou comaundist to me; rise thou, sitte, and ete of myn huntyng, that thi soule blesse me.
19 E Jacó disse a seu pai: Eu sou Esaú, teu primogênito. Eu fiz de acordo como tu me ordenaste. Levanta-te, rogo-te, senta-te e come da minha caça, para que tua alma me abençoe.
20 Eft Ysaac seide to his sone, My sone, hou miytist thou fynde so soone? Which answerde, It was Goddis wille, that this that Y wolde schulde come soone to me.
20 E Isaque disse a seu filho: Como é que tu a achaste tão rapidamente, meu filho? E ele disse: Porque o SENHOR, teu Deus, a trouxe a mim.
21 And Isaac seide, My sone, come thou hidir, that Y touche thee, and that Y preue wher thou art my sone Esau, ethir nay.
21 E Isaque disse a Jacó: Aproxima-te, rogo-te, para que eu possa sentir-te, meu filho, se tu és verdadeiramente o meu filho Esaú ou não.
22 He neiyede to the fadir; and whanne he hadde feelid hym, Isaac seide, Sotheli the vois is the vois of Jacob, but the hondis ben the hondis of Esau.
22 E Jacó se aproximou de Isaque, seu pai. E ele o sentiu, e disse: A voz é a voz de Jacó, mas as mãos são as mãos de Esaú.
23 And Isaac knew not Jacob, for the heery hondis expressiden the licnesse of the more sone.
23 E ele não o discerniu, porque suas mãos eram peludas, como as mãos de seu irmão Esaú, então ele o abençoou.
24 Therfor Isaac blesside him, and seide, Art thou my sone Esau? Jacob answerde, Y am.
24 E ele disse: És tu verdadeiramente meu filho Esaú? E ele disse: Eu sou.
25 And Isaac seide, My sone, brynge thou to me metis of thin huntyng, that my soule blesse thee. And whanne Isaac hadde ete these metis brouyt, Jacob brouyte also wyn to Isaac, and whanne this was drunkun,
25 E ele disse: Traze-a para perto de mim, e eu comerei da caça de meu filho, para que a minha alma possa te abençoar. E ele a trouxe para perto dele, e ele comeu, e lhe trouxe vinho, e ele bebeu.
26 Isaac seide to him, My sone, come thou hidir, and yyue to me a cos.
26 E seu pai Isaque lhe disse: Aproxima-te agora, e beija-me, meu filho.
27 Jacob neiyede, and kisside hym; and anoon as Isaac feelide the odour of hise clothis, he blesside him, and seide, Lo! the odour of my sone as the odour of a `feeld ful which the Lord hath blessid.
27 E ele se aproximou, e o beijou. E ele cheirava o cheiro das suas vestes, e o abençoou, e disse: Vê, o cheiro de meu filho é como o cheiro do campo que o SENHOR abençoou.
28 God yyue to thee of the dewe of heuene, and of the fatnesse of erthe, aboundaunce of whete, and of wyn, and of oile;
28 Por isso, Deus te dê do orvalho do céu, e da gordura da terra, e abundância de trigo e vinho.
29 and puplis serue thee, and lynagis worschipe thee; be thou lord of thi britheren, and the sones of thi modir be bowid bifor thee; be he cursid that cursith thee, and he that blessith thee, be fillid with blessyngis.
29 Que povos te sirvam, e nações se curvem a ti. Sê senhor sobre teus irmãos; e que os filhos de tua mãe se curvem a ti. Maldito seja todo o que te amaldiçoar, e bendito seja o que te abençoar.
30 Vnnethis Isaac hadde fillid the word, and whanne Jacob was gon out,
30 E aconteceu que, assim que Isaque havia acabado de abençoar Jacó, e Jacó havia acabado de sair da presença de Isaque, seu pai, Esaú, seu irmão, veio de sua caça.
31 Esau cam, and brouyte in metis sodun of the huntyng to the fadir, and seide, My fadir, rise thou, and ete of the huntyng of thi sone, that thi soule blesse me.
31 E ele também havia feito uma carne saborosa, e a trouxe para o seu pai, e disse a seu pai: Levanta-te, meu pai e coma da caça de seu filho, para que a tua alma me abençoe.
32 And Isaac seide, Who forsothe art thou? Which answerde, Y am Esau, thi firste gendrid sone.
32 E Isaque, seu pai, lhe disse: Quem és tu? E ele disse: Eu sou teu filho, teu primogênito Esaú.
33 Isaac dredde bi a greet astonying; and he wondride more, than it mai be bileued, and seide, Who therfor is he which a while ago brouyte to me huntyng takun, and Y eet of alle thingis bifor that thou camest; and Y blesside him? and he schal be blessid.
33 E Isaque estremeceu excessivamente, e disse: Quem? Onde está aquele que tomou a caça, e a trouxe a mim, e eu comi de tudo antes de tu vires, e o abençoei? Sim, e ele será abençoado.
34 Whanne the wordis of the fadir weren herd, Esau rorid with a greet cry, and was astonyed, and seide, My fadir, blesse thou also me.
34 E quando Esaú ouviu as palavras de seu pai, ele chorou com grande e amargo clamor, e disse a seu pai: Abençoa-me também a mim, ó meu pai!
35 Which seide, Thy brother cam prudentli, and took thi blessyng.
35 E ele disse: Teu irmão veio com sutileza, e tomou a tua bênção.
36 And Esau addide, Justli his name is clepid Jacob, for lo! he supplauntide me another tyme; bifor he took awei `my firste gendride thingis, and now the secounde tyme he rauyschide priueli my blessyng. And eft he seide to the fadir, Wher thou hast not reserued a blessyng also to me?
36 E ele disse: Não é o seu nome com razão chamado Jacó? Pois ele me suplantou duas vezes: ele tomou a minha primogenitura, e eis que agora tomou a minha bênção. E ele disse: Tu não reservaste uma bênção para mim?
37 Ysaac answeride, Y haue maad him thi lord, and Y haue maad suget alle hise britheren to his seruage; Y haue stablischid him in whete, and wyn, and oile; and, my sone, what schal Y do to thee aftir these thingis?
37 E Isaque respondeu a Esaú: Eis que eu fiz dele teu senhor, e todos os seus irmãos lhe dei por servos; e com trigo e vinho o sustentei. E o que farei agora a ti, meu filho?
38 To whom Esau saide, Fadir, wher thou hast oneli o blessyng? Y biseche that also thou blesse me. And whanne Esau wepte with greet yellyng,
38 E Esaú disse a seu pai: Tens somente uma bênção, meu pai? Abençoa-me a mim também, ó meu pai! E Esaú levantou sua voz e chorou.
39 Isaac was stirid, and seide to hym, Thi blessyng schal be in the fatnesse of erthe, and in the dew of heuene fro aboue;
39 E Isaque, seu pai, respondeu e lhe disse: Eis que a tua habitação será da gordura da terra, e do orvalho de cima do céu.
40 thou schalt lyue bi swerd, and thou schalt serue thi brothir, and tyme schal come whanne thou schalt shake awei, and vnbynde his yok fro thi nollis.
40 E por tua espada viverás, e servirás ao teu irmão. E acontecerá que, quando tiveres domínio, quebrarás o seu jugo do teu pescoço.
41 Therfor Esau hatide euer Jacob for the blessyng bi which the fadir hadde blessid hym; and Esau seide in his herte, The daies of morenyng of my fadir schulen come, and Y schal sle Jacob, my brothir.
41 E Esaú odiou Jacó por causa da bênção com que seu pai o abençoou. E Esaú disse em seu coração: Os dias de luto pelo meu pai estão próximos; então eu matarei o meu irmão Jacó.
42 These thingis weren teld to Rebecca, and sche sente, and clepide hir sone Jacob, and seide to hym, Lo ! Esau, thi brothir, manaasith to sle thee;
42 E estas palavras de Esaú, seu filho mais velho, foram relatadas a Rebeca. E ela enviou e chamou Jacó, seu filho mais novo, e lhe disse: Eis que teu irmão Esaú, no tocante a ti, está se confortando, propondo matar-te.
43 now therfor, my sone, here thou my vois, and rise thou, and fle to Laban, my brother, in Aran;
43 Por isso, agora, meu filho, obedece à minha voz e levanta-te; foge para Labão, meu irmão, em Harã,
44 and thou schalt dwelle with hym a fewe daies, til the woodnesse of thi brother reste,
44 e fica com ele alguns dias, até que a fúria de teu irmão passe,
45 and his indignacioun ceesse, and til he foryite tho thingis whiche thou hast don ayens hym. Aftirward Y schal sende, and Y schal brynge thee fro thennus hidir. Whi schal Y be maad soneles of euer eithir sone in o dai?
45 até que a ira de teu irmão se afaste de ti, e ele esqueça aquilo que tu fizeste a ele. Então enviarei para te buscar de lá. Por que ficaria eu privada de ambos em um só dia?
46 And Rebecca seide to Isaac, It anoieth me of my lijf for the douytris of Heth; if Jacob takith a wijf of the kynrede of this lond, Y nyle lyue.
46 E Rebeca disse a Isaque: Eu estou cansada da vida por causa das filhas de Hete. Se Jacó tomar uma mulher das filhas de Hete, como estas que são as filhas da terra, que bem a vida me fará?
