1 And aftir that these thingis weren don, God assaiede Abraham, and seide to hym, Abraham! Abraham! He answerde, Y am present.
1 Depois disso, Deus provou Abraão, e disse-lhe: "Abraão!" "Eis-me aqui", respondeu ele.
2 God seide to him, Take thi `sone oon gendrid, whom thou louest, Ysaac; and go into the lond of visioun, and offre thou hym there in to brent sacrifice, on oon of the hillis whiche Y schal schewe to thee.
2 Deus disse: "Toma teu filho, teu único filho a quem tanto amas, Isaac; e vai à terra de Moriá, onde tu o oferecerás em holocausto sobre um dos montes que eu te indicar."
3 Therfor Abraham roos bi niyt, and sadlide his asse, and ledde with hym twey yonge men, and Ysaac his sone; and whanne he hadde hewe trees in to brent sacrifice, he yede to the place which God hadde comaundid to him.
3 No dia seguinte, pela manhã, Abraão selou o seu jumento. Tomou consigo dois servos e Isaac, seu filho, e, tendo cortado a lenha para o holocausto, partiu para o lugar que Deus lhe tinha indicado.
4 Forsothe in the thridde dai he reiside hise iyen, and seiy a place afer;
4 Ao terceiro dia, levantando os olhos, viu o lugar de longe.
5 and he seide to hise children, Abide ye here with the asse, Y and the child schulen go thidur; and aftir that we han worschipid, we schulen turne ayen to you.
5 "Ficai aqui com o jumento, disse ele aos seus servos; eu e o menino vamos até lá mais adiante para adorar, e depois voltaremos a vós."
6 And he took the trees of brent sacrifice, and puttide on Ysaac his sone; forsothe he bar fier, and a swerd in hise hondis. And whanne thei tweyne yeden togidere, Isaac seide to his fadir, My fadir!
6 Abraão tomou a lenha do holocausto e a pôs aos ombros de seu filho Isaac, levando ele mesmo nas mãos o fogo e a faca. E, enquanto os dois iam caminhando juntos,
7 And he answerde, What wolt thou, sone? He seide, Lo! fier and trees, where is the beeste of brent sacrifice?
7 Isaac disse ao seu pai: "Meu pai!" "Que há, meu filho?" Isaac continuou: "Temos aqui o fogo e a lenha, mas onde está a ovelha para o holocausto?"
8 Abraham seide, My sone, God schal puruey to hym the beeste of brent sacrifice.
8 "Deus, respondeu-lhe Abraão, providenciará ele mesmo uma ovelha para o holocausto, meu filho." E ambos, juntos, continuaram o seu caminho.
9 Therfor thei yeden to gidere, and camen to the place whiche God hadde schewid to hym, in which place Abraham bildide an auter, and dresside trees a boue; and whanne he hadde bounde to gidere Ysaac, his sone, he puttide Ysaac in the auter, on the heep of trees.
9 Quando chegaram ao lugar indicado por Deus, Abraão edificou um altar; colocou nele a lenha, e amarrou Isaac, seu filho, e o pôs sobre o altar em cima da lenha.
10 And he helde forth his hond, and took the swerd to sacrifice his sone.
10 Depois, estendendo a mão, tomou a faca para imolar o seu filho.
11 And lo! an aungel of the Lord criede fro heuene, and seide, Abraham! Abraham!
11 O anjo do Senhor, porém, gritou-lhe do céu: "Abraão! Abraão!" "Eis-me aqui!"
12 Which answerde, I am present. And the aungel seide to hym, Holde thou not forth thin honde on the child, nether do thou ony thing to him; now Y haue knowe that thou dredist God, and sparidist not thin oon gendrid sone for me.
12 "Não estendas a tua mão contra o menino, e não lhe faças nada. Agora eu sei que temes a Deus, pois não me recusaste teu próprio filho, teu filho único."
13 Abraham reiside hise iyen, and he seiy `bihynde his bak a ram cleuynge bi hornes among breris, which he took, and offride brent sacrifice for the sone.
13 Abraão, levantando os olhos, viu atrás dele um cordeiro preso pelos chifres entre os espinhos; e, tomando-o, ofereceu-o em holocausto em lugar de seu filho.
14 And he clepide the name of that place, The Lord seeth; wherfore it is seyd, til to dai, The Lord schal see in the hil.
14 Abraão chamou a este lugar Javé-yiré, de onde se diz até o dia de hoje: "Sobre o monte de Javé-Yiré."
15 Forsothe the aungel of the Lord clepide Abraham the secounde tyme fro heuene,
15 Pela segunda vez chamou o anjo do Senhor a Abraão, do céu,
16 and seide, The Lord seith, Y haue swore bi my silf, for thou hast do this thing, and hast not sparid thin oon gendrid for me,
16 e disse-lhe: "Juro por mim mesmo, diz o Senhor: pois que fizeste isto, e não me recusaste teu filho, teu filho único, eu te abençoarei.
17 Y schal blesse thee, and Y schal multiplie thi seed as the sterris of heuene, and as grauel which is in the brynk of the see; thi seed schal gete the yatis of hise enemyes;
17 Multiplicarei a tua posteridade como as estrelas do céu, e como a areia na praia do mar. Ela possuirá a porta dos teus inimigos,
18 and alle the folkis of erthe schulen be blessid in thi seed, for thou obeiedist to my vois.
18 e todas as nações da terra desejarão ser benditas como ela, porque obedeceste à minha voz."
19 Abraham turnede ayen to hise children, and thei yeden to Bersabee to gidere, and he dwellide there.
19 Abraão voltou então para os seus servos, e foram juntos para Bersabéia, onde fixou sua residência.
20 And so whanne these thingis weren don, it was teld to Abraham that also Melcha hadde bore sones to Nachor his brother;
20 Depois desses acontecimentos, vieram dizer a Abraão: "Melca deu também filhos a Nacor, teu irmão:
21 Hus the firste gendrid, and Buz his brothir, and Chamuhel the fadir of Sireis,
21 Hus, o primogênito, Buz, seu irmão, Camuel, pai de Arão,
22 and Cased, and Asan, and Feldas,
22 Cased, Azau, Feldas, Jedlaf e Batuel."
23 and Jedlaf, and Batuhel, of whom Rebecca was borun; Melcha childide these eiyte to Nachor brother of Abraham.
23 {Batuel foi o pai de Rebeca.} Estes são os oito filhos que Melca deu a Nacor, irmão de Abraão.
24 Forsothe his concubyn, Roma bi name, childide Thabee, and Gaon, and Thaas, and Maacha.
24 Sua concubina, chamada Reuma, teve também filhos: Tabée, Gaam, Taas e Maaca.
