1 Therfore Abram stiede fro Egipt, he, and his wijf, and alle thingis that he hadde; and Loth stiede with hym, to the south coost.
1 Abrão voltou do Egito para Negeb com sua mulher e tudo o que lhe pertencia. Lot o acompanhava.
2 Forsothe he was ful riche in possessyoun of siluer and of gold.
2 Abrão era muito rico em rebanhos, prata e ouro.
3 And he turnede ayen bi the weye in which he cam fro the south in to Bethel, `til to the place, in which bifore he hadde sett tabernacle, bitwixe Bethel and Hay,
3 Ele foi de acampamento em acampamento de Negeb até Betel, ao lugar onde já uma vez armara sua tenda, entre Betel e Hai,
4 in the place of the auter which he made bifore, and inwardli clepide there the name of the Lord.
4 no lugar onde se encontrava o altar que havia edificado antes. Ali invocou o nome do Senhor.
5 But also flockis of scheep, and droues of oxun, and tabernaclis weren to Loth, that was with Abram;
5 Lot, que acompanhava Abrão, possuía também ovelhas, bois e tendas,
6 and the lond miyte not take hem, that thei schulden dwelle togidre, for the catel of hem was myche, and thei miyten not dwelle in comyn.
6 e a região não lhes bastava para aí se estabelecerem juntos.
7 Wherfor also strijf was maad bitwixe the keperis of flockis of Abram and of Loth. Forsothe Chananei and Feresei dwelliden in that lond in that tyme.
7 Por isso houve uma contenda entre os pastores dos rebanhos de Abrão e os dos rebanhos de Lot. Os cananeus e os ferezeus habitavam então naquela terra.
8 Therfor Abram seide to Loth, Y biseche, that no strijf be bitwixe me and thee, and bitwixe my scheepherdis and thi scheepherdis; for we ben britheren.
8 Abrão disse a Lot: "Rogo-te que não haja discórdia entre mim e ti, nem entre nossos pastores, pois somos irmãos.
9 Lo! al the lond is bifore thee, Y biseche, departe thou fro me; if thou go to the left side, Y schal holde the riyt side; if thou chese the riyt side, Y schal go to the left side.
9 Eis aí toda a terra diante de ti; separemo-nos. Se fores para a esquerda, eu irei para a direita; se fores para a direita, eu irei para esquerda."
10 And so Loth reiside hise iyen, and seiy aboute al the cuntrei of Jordan, which was al moistid, bifor that the Lord distriede Sodom and Gomorre, as paradis of the Lord, and as Egipt, as men comen in to Segor.
10 Lot, levantando os olhos, viu que a toda a planície de Jordão era regada de água {o Senhor não tinha ainda destruído Sodoma e Gomorra} como o jardim do Senhor, como a terra do Egito ao lado de Tsoar.
11 And Loth chees to him the cuntre aboute Jordan, and departide fro the eest; and thei weren departid ech fro his brother.
11 Lot escolheu toda a planície do Jordão e foi para o oriente. Foi assim que se separam um do outro.
12 Abram dwellide in the lond of Chanaan; sotheli Loth dwellide in townes aboute Jordan, and wonide in Sodom.
12 Abrão fixou-se na terra de Canaã, e Lot nas cidades da planície, onde levantou suas tendas até Sodoma.
13 Forsothe men of Sodom weren ful wickid, and synneris greetly bifore the Lord.
13 Ora, os habitantes de Sodoma eram perversos, e grandes pecadores diante do Senhor.
14 And the Lord seide to Abram, aftir that Loth was departid fro him, Reise thin iyen forth riyt, and se fro the place in which thou art now, to the north and south, to the eest and west;
14 O Senhor disse a Abrão depois que Lot o deixou: "Levanta os olhos, e do lugar onde estás, olha para o norte e para o sul, para o oriente e para o ocidente.
15 Y schal yyue al the lond which thou seest to thee and to thi seed, til in to with outen ende.
15 Toda a terra que vês, eu a darei a ti e aos teus descendentes para sempre.
16 And Y schal make thi seed as the dust of erthe; if ony man may noumbre the dust of erthe, also he schal mowe noumbre thi seed.
16 Tornarei tua posteridade tão numerosa como o pó da terra: se alguém puder contar os grãos do pó da terra, então poderá contar a tua posteridade.
17 Therfor rise thou, and passe thorou the lond in his lengthe and breede, for Y schal yyue it to thee.
17 Levanta-te, percorre a terra em toda a sua extensão, porque eu te hei de dar."
18 Therfor Abram, mouynge his tabernacle, cam and dwellide bisidis the valei of Mambre, which is in Ebron; and he bildide there an auter to the Lord.
18 Abrão levantou as suas tendas e veio fixar-se no vale dos carvalhos de Mambré, que estão em Hebron; e ali edificou um altar ao Senhor.
