1 And thou, sone of man, take weiling on the princes of Israel;
1 Além disso, leva tu para cima a lamentação pelos príncipes de Israel,
2 and thou schalt seie, Whi thi modir, a lionesse, lai among liouns? In the myddis of litle liouns sche nurschide hir whelpis,
2 e dize: O que é a tua mãe? Uma leoa; ela se deita entre os leões, ela nutriu seus filhotes entre os jovens leões.
3 and ledde out oon of hir litle liouns; he was maad a lioun, and he lernyde to take prei, and to ete men.
3 E ela trouxe um de seus filhotes, ele se tornou um jovem leão, e aprendeu a apanhar a presa, e devorou homens.
4 And hethene men herden of hym, and token hym not withouten her woundis; and thei brouyten hym in chaynes in to the lond of Egipt.
4 As nações também ouviram sobre ele; ele foi tomado em sua cova, e eles o trouxeram com correntes até a terra do Egito.
5 Which modir whanne sche hadde seyn, that sche was sijk, and the abiding of hym perischide, took oon of her litle liouns, and made hym a lioun.
5 Agora, quando ela viu que tinha esperado, e que sua esperança estava perdida, então ela tomou outro de seus filhotes, e fez dele um jovem leão.
6 Which yede among liouns, and was maad a lioun;
6 E, ele foi para cima e para baixo entre os leões, se tornou um jovem leão, e aprendeu a apanhar a presa, e devorou homens.
7 and lernede to take prey, and to deuoure men. He lernyde to make widewis, and to brynge the citees of men in to desert; and the lond and the fulnesse therof was maad desolat, of the vois of his roryng.
7 E ele conheceu os seus palácios assolados, e devastou as suas cidades; e a terra foi assolada, e a sua plenitude, pelo barulho do seu rugido.
8 And hethene men camen togidere ayens hym on ech side fro prouynces, and spredden on hym her net; he was takun in the woundis of tho hethene men.
8 Então, as nações se juntaram contra ele em cada lado das províncias, e estenderam sua rede sobre ele, e foi apanhado na cova deles.
9 And thei senten hym in to a caue in chaines, and brouyten hym to the kyng of Babiloyne; and thei senten hym in to prisoun, that his vois were no more herd on the hillis of Israel.
9 E eles o puseram em custódia em correntes, e o trouxeram ao rei de Babilônia; trouxeram-no dentro de fortificações, para que sua voz não mais fosse ouvida sobre os montes de Israel.
10 Thi modir as a vyner in thi blood was plauntid on watre; the fruitis therof and the boowis therof encreessiden of many watris.
10 Tua mãe é como uma videira no teu sangue, plantada junto às águas; ela foi frutífera e cheia de ramos por causa das muitas águas.
11 And sadde yerdis weren maad to it in to septris of lordis, and the stature therof was enhaunsid among boowis; and it siy his hiynesse in the multitude of hise siouns.
11 E, ela tinha varas fortes para os cetros daqueles que governavam, e sua estatura foi exaltada entre os grossos ramos, e ela apareceu na sua altura com a multidão dos seus ramos.
12 And it was drawun out in wraththe, and was cast forth in to erthe; and a brennynge wynd dryede the fruyt therof, and the yerdis of strengthe therof welewiden, and weren maad drie, and fier eet it.
12 Mas ela foi arrancada com fúria, foi lançada ao chão, e o vento leste secou o seu fruto; suas fortes varas se quebraram e murcharam, o fogo as consumiu.
13 And now it is plauntid ouer in desert, in a lond with out weie, and thristi.
13 E, agora ela está plantada no deserto, em um chão seco e sedento.
14 And fier yede out of the yerde of the braunchis therof, that eet the fruyt therof. And a stronge yerde, the ceptre of lordis, was not in it. It is weilyng, and it schal be in to weilyng.
14 E o fogo saiu de uma vara dos seus ramos, que devorou seu fruto, para que ela não mais tenha vara forte para ser um cetro para dominar. Esta é a lamentação, e servirá de lamentação.
