1 And the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y haue maad thee the god of Farao; and Aaron, thi brother, schal be thi prophete.
1 Então o Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — Vou fazer com que você seja como Deus para o rei; e Arão, o seu irmão, falará por você como
2 Thou schalt speke to Aaron alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee, and he schal speke to Farao, that he delyuere the sones of Israel fro his hond.
2 Você dirá a Arão tudo o que eu mandar, e ele falará com o rei, pedindo que deixe os israelitas saírem da terra dele.
3 But Y schal make hard his herte, and Y schal multiplie my signes and merueils in the lond of Egipt, and he schal not here you;
3 Mas eu vou fazer com que o rei fique teimoso e farei muitos milagres e coisas espantosas no Egito.
4 and Y schal sende myn hond on Egipt, and Y schal lede out myn oost, and my puple, the sones of Israel, fro the lond of Egipt bi mooste domes;
4 O rei não vai ouvir vocês. Porém eu farei com que caia sobre ele um castigo terrível e levarei para fora do Egito os meus exércitos, isto é, o povo de Israel.
5 and Egipcians schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, which haue holde forth myn hond on Egipt, and haue led out of the myddis of hem the sones of Israel.
5 Quando eu levantar a mão contra os egípcios e tirar do meio deles os israelitas, os egípcios ficarão sabendo que eu sou o Senhor .
6 And so Moises dide and Aaron; as the Lord comaundide, so thei diden.
6 Moisés e Arão fizeram tudo como o Senhor havia mandado.
7 Forsothe Moyses was of fourescoor yeer, and Aaron was of fourescoor yeer and thre, whanne thei spaken to Farao.
7 Quando falaram com o rei do Egito, Moisés tinha oitenta anos, e Arão, oitenta e três.
8 And the Lord seide to Moises and to Aaron,
8 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés e a Arão:
9 Whanne Farao schal seie to you, Schewe ye signes to vs, thou schalt seie to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and caste forth it before Farao, and be it turned into a serpent.
9 — Se o rei do Egito mandar que vocês façam um milagre, você, Moisés, dirá a Arão que pegue o bastão e o jogue no chão na frente do rei. O bastão virará uma cobra.
10 And so Moises and Aaron entriden to Farao, and diden as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron took the yeerde, and castide forth bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which yerde was turned in to a serpent.
10 Aí Moisés e Arão foram se encontrar com o rei e fizeram como o Senhor havia mandado. Arão jogou o bastão diante do rei e dos seus funcionários, e o bastão virou uma cobra.
11 Forsothe Farao clepide wise men, and witchis, and thei also diden bi enchauntementis of Egipt, and bi summe priuy thingis in lijk maner;
11 Então o rei mandou vir os sábios e os mágicos, e com a sua mágica eles fizeram a mesma coisa.
12 and alle castiden forth her yerdis, whiche weren turned in to dragouns; but the yerde of Aaron deuouride `the yerdis of hem.
12 Cada um deles jogou a sua vara de mágico no chão, e elas viraram cobras. Porém o bastão de Arão engoliu as varas de mágico deles.
13 And the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
13 No entanto, como o Senhor tinha dito, o rei continuou teimando e não atendeu o pedido de Moisés e Arão.
14 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moyses, The herte of Farao is maad greuouse, he nyle delyuere the puple;
14 Então o Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — O rei está teimando e não quer deixar o povo sair do Egito.
15 go thou to hym eerli; lo! he schal go out to the watris, and thou schalt stonde in the comyng of hym on the brynke of the flood; and thou schalt take in thin honde the yerde, that was turned into a dragoun,
15 Vá procurá-lo amanhã cedo, quando ele for até o rio Nilo. Pegue o bastão que virou cobra e espere o rei na beira do rio.
16 and thou schalt seie to hym, The Lord God of Ebrews sente me to thee, and seide, Delyuere thou my puple, that it make sacrifice to me in desert; til to present time thou noldist here.
16 E diga-lhe o seguinte: “O Senhor , o Deus dos hebreus, me mandou dizer-lhe que deixasse o povo dele ir embora para adorá-lo no deserto. Porém até agora o senhor não obedeceu à ordem de Deus.
17 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, In this thou schalt wite, that Y am the Lord; lo! Y schal smyte with the yerde, which is in myn hond, the watir of the flood, and it schal be turned in to blood;
17 Portanto, Deus lhe diz que, por causa daquilo que ele vai fazer agora, o senhor vai saber que ele é Deus, o Senhor . Ó rei, agora eu vou bater na água do rio com este bastão que estou segurando, e a água vai virar sangue.
18 and the fischis that ben in the flood schulen die; and the watris schulen wexe rotun, and Egipcians drynkynge the watir of the flood schulen be turmentid.
18 Os peixes que estão no rio vão morrer, e o rio vai cheirar tão mal, que os egípcios terão nojo de beber água dele.”
19 Also the Lord seide to Moises, Seie thou to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and holde forth thin hond on the watris of Egipt, and on the flodis of hem, and on the stremys `of hem, and on the mareis, and alle lakis of watris, that tho be turned in to blood; and blood be in al the lond of Egipt, as wel in vessils of tree as of stoon.
19 E o Senhor disse também a Moisés: — Diga a Arão que pegue o bastão e estenda a mão sobre os rios, os canais, os poços e os reservatórios, para que as suas águas virem sangue. Assim, haverá sangue até nas tigelas de madeira e nas jarras de pedra.
20 And Moises and Aaron diden so, as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron reiside the yerde, and smoot the watir of the flood bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which watir was turned in to blood;
20 Moisés e Arão fizeram como o Senhor havia mandado. Na frente do rei e dos seus funcionários, Arão levantou o bastão e bateu no rio, e a água virou sangue.
21 and fischis, that weren in the flood, dieden; and the flood was rotun, and Egipcians myyten not drynke the water of the flood; and blood was in al the lond of Egipt.
21 Os peixes morreram, e o rio cheirou tão mal, que os egípcios não podiam beber água dele. E em todo o Egito houve sangue.
22 And the witchis of Egipcians diden in lijk maner by her enchauntementis; and the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
22 Porém, com as suas artes, os mágicos do Egito fizeram a mesma coisa. E assim o rei continuou teimando. Como o Senhor tinha dito, ele não atendeu o pedido de Moisés e Arão.
23 And he turnede awei hym silf, and entride in to his hows, nethir he took it to herte, yhe, in this tyme.
23 Pelo contrário, ele voltou para o seu palácio, sem se preocupar com o que havia acontecido.
24 Forsothe alle Egipcians diggiden watir `bi the cumpas of the flood, to drinke; for thei myyten not drynke of the `watir of the flood.
24 Todos os egípcios cavaram buracos na beira do rio para beber água limpa, pois não podiam beber da água do rio.
25 And seuene daies weren fillid, aftir that the Lord smoot the flood.
25 E passaram sete dias, depois que o Senhor Deus bateu nas águas do rio.
