1 Thou schalt not resseyue a vois of leesyng, nether thou schalt ioyne thin hond, that thou seie fals witnessyng for a wickid man.
1 — Não espalhe notícias falsas e não minta no tribunal para ajudar alguém.
2 Thou schalt not sue the cumpanye to do yuel, nether thou schalt ascente to the sentence of ful many men in doom, that thou go awey fro treuthe.
2 Não siga a maioria quando ela faz o que é errado e não dê testemunho falso para ajudar a maioria a torcer a justiça.
3 Also thou schalt not haue mercy of a pore man in a `cause, ethir doom.
3 Não faça injustiça, nem mesmo para favorecer o pobre.
4 If thou meetist `the oxe of thin enemye, ethir the asse errynge, lede thou ayen to hym.
4 — Se você vir o boi ou o jumento do seu inimigo andando perdido, leve-o de volta para ele.
5 If thou seest that the asse of hym that hatith thee liggyth vndir a burthun, thou schalt not passe, but thou schalt reise with hym.
5 Se o jumento dele cair debaixo da carga, não o deixe ali, mas ajude o dono a pôr o animal de pé.
6 Thou schalt not bowe in the doom of a pore man.
6 — Quando um pobre comparecer ao tribunal, não cometa injustiça contra ele.
7 Thou schalt fle a lesyng. Thou schalt not sle an innocent man, and iust; for Y am aduersarie to a wickid man.
7 Não faça acusações falsas, nem condene à morte uma pessoa inocente. Pois eu condenarei aquele que fizer essas coisas más.
8 Take thou not yiftis, that blynden also prudent men, and destryen the wordys of iust men.
8 Não aceite dinheiro para torcer a justiça, pois esse dinheiro faz com que as pessoas fiquem cegas e não vejam o que é direito, prejudicando assim a causa daqueles que são inocentes.
9 Thou schalt not be diseseful to a pilgrym, for ye knowen the soulis of comelyngis, for also ye weren pilgryms in the lond of Egipt.
9 — Não maltratem os estrangeiros que moram no meio de vocês. Vocês sabem como eles sofrem por serem estrangeiros, pois vocês foram estrangeiros no Egito.
10 Sixe yeer thou schalt sowe thi lond, and thou schalt gadre fruytis therof;
10 — Durante seis anos você semeará as suas terras e colherá o que elas produzirem.
11 forsothe in the seuenthe yeer thou schalt leeue it, and schalt make to reste, that the pore men of thi puple ete, and what euer is residue, the beestis of the feeld ete; so thou schalt do in thi vyner, and in place of olyue trees.
11 Porém no sétimo ano deixe que a terra descanse e não colha nada que crescer nela. Mas os pobres poderão comer o que crescer ali, e os animais selvagens comerão o que sobrar. Faça isso também com as suas plantações de uvas e de azeitonas.
12 Sixe dayes thou schalt worche, in the seuenthe dai thou schalt ceesse, that thin oxe and asse reste, and the sone of thin handmaide, and the comelyng be refreischid.
12 — Trabalhe seis dias por semana, mas no sétimo dia não faça nenhum trabalho para que os seus escravos, os seus animais e os estrangeiros que trabalham para você possam descansar.
13 Kepe ye alle thingis, whiche Y seide to you; and ye schulen not swere bi the name of alien goddis, nether it schal be herd of youre mouth.
13 — Deem atenção a tudo o que eu, o Senhor , tenho dito a vocês. Não façam orações a outros deuses, nem mesmo falem os nomes deles.
14 In thre tymes bi alle yeeris ye schulen halewe feestis to me.
14 — Três vezes por ano vocês comemorarão uma festa em minha honra.
15 Thou schalt kepe the solempnyte of therf looues; seuene daies thou schalt ete therf breed, as Y comaundide to thee, in the tyme of monethe of newe thingis, whanne thou yedist out of Egipt; thou schalt not appere voide in my siyt.
15 No mês de abibe , o mês em que vocês saíram do Egito, comemorem a Festa dos Pães sem Fermento como eu ordenei. Durante os sete dias da festa não comam pão feito com fermento. Que ninguém venha me adorar sem trazer uma oferta.
16 And thou schalt kepe the solempnete of the monethe of the firste thingis of thi werk, what euer thingis thou hast sowe in the feeld. Also thou schalt kepe the solempnyte in the goyng out of the yeer, whanne thou hast gaderid all thi fruytis of the feeld.
16 — Comemorem a Festa da Colheita logo que vocês começarem a colher o que plantaram. — Comemorem a
17 Thries in the yeer al thi male kynde schal appere bifore thi Lord God.
17 Três vezes por ano, nessas três festas, todos os homens devem vir adorar a mim, o Senhor Deus.
18 Thou schalt not offre the blood of thi slayn sacrifice on sour douy; nether the fatnesse of my solempnete schal dwelle til to the morewtid.
18 — Quando vocês oferecerem um animal em sacrifício a mim, não me tragam pão feito com fermento. A gordura dos animais mortos nos sacrifícios, durante as minhas festas, deverá ser queimada no mesmo dia.
19 Thou schalt bere the firste thingis of the fruytis of thi lond in to the hows of thi Lord God. Thou schalt not sethe a kide in the mylke of his modir.
19 — Todos os anos tragam à casa do Senhor , seu Deus, os primeiros cereais que colherem. — Não cozinhem um cabrito ou um carneirinho no leite da sua própria mãe .
20 Lo! Y schal sende myn aungel, that schal go bifore thee, and schal kepe in the weie, and schal lede to the place which Y haue maad redi to thee.
20 — Eu enviarei um anjo adiante de vocês para protegê-los na viagem e para levá-los ao lugar que lhes preparei.
21 Take thou hede to hym, and here thou his vois, nether gesse thou hym to be dispisid; for he schal not foryyue, whanne thou synnest, and my name is in him.
21 Deem atenção e obedeçam ao anjo. Não se revoltem contra ele, pois ele age em meu nome e não perdoará revoltas.
22 For if thou herest his vois, and doist alle thingis whiche Y speke, Y schal be enemy to thin enemyes, and Y schal turment hem, that turmenten thee;
22 Se vocês lhe obedecerem e fizerem tudo o que ele mandar, eu lutarei contra todos os inimigos de vocês.
23 and myn aungel schal go bifore thee, and he schal lede yn thee to Amorrei, and Ethei, and Ferezei, and Cananey, and Euey, and Jebusei, whiche Y schal breke.
23 O meu anjo irá adiante de vocês e os levará até a terra dos amorreus, dos heteus, dos perizeus, dos cananeus, dos heveus e dos jebuseus. E eu destruirei todos esses povos.
24 Thou schalt not onoure `the goddis of hem, nether thou schalt worschipe hem; thou schalt not do the werkis of hem, but thou schalt destrie the goddis, and thou schalt breke the ymagis of hem.
24 Não se curvem diante dos deuses deles, nem os adorem, e não sigam os seus costumes religiosos. Destruam os deuses deles e quebrem as colunas do deus Baal .
25 And ye schulen serue to youre Lord God, that Y blesse thi looues, and watris, and do awei sikenesse fro the myddis of thee;
25 Se vocês adorarem a mim, o Senhor , seu Deus, eu os abençoarei, dando-lhes comida e água, e tirarei de vocês todas as doenças.
26 neithir a womman vnfruytful, neither bareyn, schal be in thi lond; Y schal fille the noumbre of thi daies.
26 Na terra de vocês nenhuma mulher terá aborto, nem ficará sem ter filhos. E eu darei a vocês uma vida longa.
27 Y schal sende my drede in to thi biforgoyng, and Y schal sle al the puple, to which thou schalt entre, and Y schal turne the backis of alle thin enemyes bifore thee;
27 — Farei com que os povos que são contra vocês tenham medo de mim. Farei com que haja confusão entre os povos contra quem vocês vão lutar e farei com que os inimigos fujam de vocês.
28 and Y schal sende out bifore scrabrouns, that schulen dryue awei Euey, and Cananey, and Ethei, bifore that thou entre.
28 Farei com que os seus inimigos fiquem apavorados. E, quando vocês forem avançando, eu expulsarei os heveus, os cananeus e os heteus.
29 Y schal not caste hem out fro thi face in o yeer, lest the lond be turned in to wildirnesse, and beestis encreesse ayens thee;
29 Não os expulsarei num ano só; se eu fizesse isso, a terra ficaria deserta, e os animais selvagens se tornariam numerosos demais, prejudicando vocês.
30 litil and litil I schal caste hem out fro thi siyt, til thou be encreessid, and welde the loond.
30 Pelo contrário, eu expulsarei esses povos pouco a pouco, até que vocês se tornem mais numerosos e tomem posse da terra.
31 Forsothe Y schal sette thi termys fro the reed see til to the see of Palestyns, and fro desert til to the flood. Y schal yyue to youre hondis the dwelleris of the lond, and Y schal caste hem out fro youre siyt;
31 Farei com que os limites da terra de vocês vão desde o golfo de Ácaba até o rio Eufrates e do mar Mediterrâneo até o deserto. Eu lhes darei poder para dominarem os povos daquelas terras, e vocês irão avançando e os expulsando.
32 thou schalt not make boond of pees with hem, nethir with `the goddis of hem.
32 Não façam nenhum acordo com eles, nem com os seus deuses.
33 Dwelle thei not in thi lond, lest perauenture thei make thee to do synne ayens me, yf thou seruest her goddis, which thing certis schal be to thee in to sclaundir.
33 Não deixem que esses povos vivam na terra de vocês. Se deixarem, eles farão com que vocês pequem contra mim. Se vocês adorarem os deuses deles, isso será uma armadilha mortal para vocês.
