1 These ben the domes, whiche thou schalt sette forth to hem.
1 São estes os estatutos que lhes proporás:
2 If thou biest an Ebrew seruaunt, he schal serue thee sixe yeer; in the seuenthe yeer he schal go out fre,
2 Se comprares um escravo hebreu, seis anos servirá; mas, ao sétimo, sairá forro, de graça.
3 with out prijs; with what maner clooth he entride, with siche clooth go he out; if he entride hauynge a wijf, and the wijf schal go out to gidere.
3 Se entrou solteiro, sozinho sairá; se era homem casado, com ele sairá sua mulher.
4 But if the lord of the servaunt yaf a wijf to hym, and sche childide sones and douytris, the womman and hir children schulen be hir lordis; sotheli the seruaunt schal go out with his owne clooth.
4 Se o seu senhor lhe der mulher, e ela der à luz filhos e filhas, a mulher e seus filhos serão do seu senhor, e ele sairá sozinho.
5 That if the seruaunt seith, Y loue my lord, and wijf, and children, Y schal not go out fre;
5 Porém, se o escravo expressamente disser: Eu amo meu senhor, minha mulher e meus filhos, não quero sair forro.
6 the lord brynge hym to goddis, that is, iugis; and he schal be set to the dore, and postis; and the lord schal perse his eere with a nal, and he schal be seruaunt to hym til in to the world.
6 Então, o seu senhor o levará aos juízes, e o fará chegar à porta ou à ombreira, e o seu senhor lhe furará a orelha com uma sovela; e ele o servirá para sempre.
7 If ony man sillith his douyter in to seruauntesse, sche schal not go out as handmaidis weren wont to go out;
7 Se um homem vender sua filha para ser escrava, esta não lhe sairá como saem os escravos.
8 if sche displesith in the iyen of hir lord, to whom sche was bitakun, he schal delyuere hir; sotheli he schal not haue power to sille hir to an alien puple, if he forsakith hir.
8 Se ela não agradar ao seu senhor, que se comprometeu a desposá-la, ele terá de permitir-lhe o resgate; não poderá vendê-la a um povo estranho, pois será isso deslealdade para com ela.
9 Forsothe if he weddith hir to his sonne, he schal do to hir `bi the custom of douytris;
9 Mas, se a casar com seu filho, tratá-la-á como se tratam as filhas.
10 that if he takith another womman to hym, he schal puruey to the damysele weddingis, and clothis, and he schal not denye the prijs of chastite.
10 Se ele der ao filho outra mulher, não diminuirá o mantimento da primeira, nem os seus vestidos, nem os seus direitos conjugais.
11 If he doith not these thre, sche schal go out freli without money.
11 Se não lhe fizer estas três coisas, ela sairá sem retribuição, nem pagamento em dinheiro.
12 He that smytith a man, and wole sle, die bi deeth;
12 Quem ferir a outro, de modo que este morra, também será morto.
13 forsothe if a man settide not aspies, but God `bitook hym in to hise hondis, Y schal ordeyne a place to thee, whidur he owith to fle.
13 Porém, se não lhe armou ciladas, mas Deus lhe permitiu caísse em suas mãos, então, te designarei um lugar para onde ele fugirá.
14 If ony man sleeth his neiybore bi biforecastyng, and bi aspies, drawe thou hym awey fro myn auter, that he die.
14 Se alguém vier maliciosamente contra o próximo, matando-o à traição, tirá-lo-ás até mesmo do meu altar, para que morra.
15 He that smytith his fadir, ether modir, die by deeth.
15 Quem ferir seu pai ou sua mãe será morto.
16 He that cursith his fadir, ether modir, die bi deeth.
16 O que raptar alguém e o vender, ou for achado na sua mão, será morto.
17 He that stelith a man, and sillith hym, if he is conuyt of the gilt, die bi deeth.
17 Quem amaldiçoar seu pai ou sua mãe será morto.
18 If men chiden, and the tother smyte his neiybore with a stoon, ether with the fist, and he is not deed, but liggith in the bed,
18 Se dois brigarem, ferindo um ao outro com pedra ou com o punho, e o ferido não morrer, mas cair de cama;
19 if he risith, and goith forth on his staf, he that smoot schal be innocent; so netheles that he restore hise trauelis, and costis in lechis.
19 se ele tornar a levantar-se e andar fora, apoiado ao seu bordão, então, será absolvido aquele que o feriu; somente lhe pagará o tempo que perdeu e o fará curar-se totalmente.
20 He that smytith his seruaunt, ether handmayde, with a yerde, and thei ben deed in hise hondis, schal be gilti of cryme.
20 Se alguém ferir com bordão o seu escravo ou a sua escrava, e o ferido morrer debaixo da sua mão, será punido;
21 Sotheli if the seruaunt ouerlyueth o dai, ether tweyne, he schal not be suget to peyne, `that is of deeth, for the seruaunt is his catel.
21 porém, se ele sobreviver por um ou dois dias, não será punido, porque é dinheiro seu.
22 If men chiden, and a man smytith a womman with childe, and sotheli makith the child deed borun, but the womman ouerlyueth, he schal be suget to the harm, as myche as the `hosebonde of the womman axith, and the iugis demen.
22 Se homens brigarem, e ferirem mulher grávida, e forem causa de que aborte, porém sem maior dano, aquele que feriu será obrigado a indenizar segundo o que lhe exigir o marido da mulher; e pagará como os juízes lhe determinarem.
23 But if the deeth of hir sueth,
23 Mas, se houver dano grave, então, darás vida por vida,
24 he schal yelde lijf for lijf, iye for iye, tooth for tooth, hond for hond, foot for foot,
24 olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por mão, pé por pé,
25 brennyng for brennyng, wounde `with schedyng of blood for wounde `with schedyng of blood, `a wan wounde for a wan wounde.
25 queimadura por queimadura, ferimento por ferimento, golpe por golpe.
26 If a man smytith the iye of his seruaunt, ethir of handmaide, and makith hem oon iyed, he schal delyuere hem fre for `the iye which he puttide out.
26 Se alguém ferir o olho do seu escravo ou o olho da sua escrava e o inutilizar, deixá-lo-á ir forro pelo seu olho.
27 Also if he smytith out a tooth fro his seruaunt, ethir handmaide, in lijk maner he schal delyuere hem fre.
27 E, se com violência fizer cair um dente do seu escravo ou da sua escrava, deixá-lo-á ir forro pelo seu dente.
28 If an oxe smytith with horn a man, ether a womman, and thei ben deed, the oxe schal be oppressid with stoonus, and hise fleischis schulen not be etun, and the lord of the oxe schal be innocent.
28 Se algum boi chifrar homem ou mulher, que morra, o boi será apedrejado, e não lhe comerão a carne; mas o dono do boi será absolvido.
29 That if the oxe was `a pultere with horn fro yisterdai and the thridde dai ago, and men warneden `the lord of hym, nether the lord closide hym, and he sleeth a man, ethir womman, bothe the oxe schal be oppressid with stoonus, and thei schulen sle `the lord of hym;
29 Mas, se o boi, dantes, era dado a chifrar, e o seu dono era disso conhecedor e não o prendeu, e o boi matar homem ou mulher, o boi será apedrejado, e também será morto o seu dono.
30 that if prijs is put to the lord, he schal yyue for his lijf what euer he is axide.
30 Se lhe for exigido resgate, dará, então, como resgate da sua vida tudo o que lhe for exigido.
31 And if he smytith with horn a son, and a douytir, he schal be suget to lijk sentence.
31 Quer tenha chifrado um filho, quer tenha chifrado uma filha, este julgamento lhe será aplicado.
32 If the oxe asailith a seruaunt, and handmaide, the lord of the oxe schal yyue thretti siclis of siluer to `his lord; forsothe the oxe schal be oppressid with stoonus.
32 Se o boi chifrar um escravo ou uma escrava, dar-se-ão trinta siclos de prata ao senhor destes, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 If ony man openeth a cisterne, and diggith, and hilith it not, and an oxe ether asse fallith in to it,
33 Se alguém deixar aberta uma cova ou se alguém cavar uma cova e não a tapar, e nela cair boi ou jumento,
34 the lord of the cisterne schal yelde the prijs of the werk beestis; forsothe that that is deed schal be his.
34 o dono da cova o pagará, pagará dinheiro ao seu dono, mas o animal morto será seu.
35 If another mannus oxe woundith the oxe of another man, and he is deed, thei schulen sille the quyke oxe, and thei schulen departe the prijs; forsothe thei schulen departe bitwixe hem the karkeis of the deed oxe.
35 Se um boi de um homem ferir o boi de outro, e o boi ferido morrer, venderão o boi vivo e repartirão o valor; e dividirão entre si o boi morto.
36 Forsothe if his lord wiste, that the oxe was a puttere fro yistirdai and the thridde dai ago, and kepte not him, he schal yelde oxe for oxe, and he schal take the hool carkeys.
36 Mas, se for notório que o boi era já, dantes, chifrador, e o seu dono não o prendeu, certamente, pagará boi por boi; porém o morto será seu.
