1 Sones, obeische ye to youre fadir and modir, in the Lord; for this thing is riytful.
1 Filhos, obedeçam a seus pais no Senhor, pois isto é justo.
2 Onoure thou thi fadir and thi modir, that is the firste maundement in biheest;
2 “Honre o seu pai e a sua mãe”, que é o primeiro mandamento com promessa,
3 that it be wel to thee, and that thou be long lyuynge on the erthe.
3 “para que tudo corra bem com você, e você tenha uma longa vida sobre a terra”.
4 And, fadris, nyle ye terre youre sones to wraththe; but nurische ye hem in the teching and chastising of the Lord.
4 E vocês, pais, não provoquem os seus filhos à ira, mas tratem de criá-los na disciplina e na admoestação do Senhor.
5 Seruauntis, obeische ye to fleischli lordis with drede and trembling, in simplenesse of youre herte, as to Crist;
5 Quanto a vocês, servos, obedeçam a seus senhores aqui na terra com temor e tremor, com sinceridade de coração, como a Cristo,
6 not seruynge at the iye, as plesinge to men, but as seruauntis of Crist; doynge the wille of God bi discrecioun,
6 não servindo apenas quando estão sendo vigiados, somente para agradar pessoas, mas como servos de Cristo, fazendo de coração a vontade de Deus.
7 with good wille seruynge as to the Lord, and not as to men;
7 Sirvam de boa vontade, como se estivessem trabalhando para o Senhor e não para pessoas,
8 witinge that ech man, what euere good thing he schal do, he schal resseyue this of the Lord, whether seruaunt, whether fre man.
8 sabendo que cada um, se fizer alguma coisa boa, receberá isso outra vez do Senhor, seja servo, seja livre.
9 And, ye lordis, do the same thingis to hem, foryyuynge manaasis; witinge that bothe her Lord and youre is in heuenes, and the taking of persones is not anentis God.
9 E vocês, senhores, façam o mesmo com os servos, deixando as ameaças, sabendo que o Senhor, tanto deles como de vocês, está nos céus, e que ele não trata as pessoas com parcialidade.
10 Her aftirward, britheren, be ye coumfortid in the Lord, and in the miyt of his vertu.
10 Quanto ao mais, sejam fortalecidos no Senhor e na força do seu poder.
11 Clothe you with the armere of God, that ye moun stonde ayens aspiynges of the deuel.
11 Vistam-se com toda a armadura de Deus, para poderem ficar firmes contra as ciladas do diabo.
12 For whi stryuyng is not to vs ayens fleisch and blood, but ayens princis and potestatis, ayens gouernours of the world of these derknessis, ayens spiritual thingis of wickidnesse, in heuenli thingis.
12 Porque a nossa luta não é contra o sangue e a carne, mas contra os principados e as potestades, contra os dominadores deste mundo tenebroso, contra as forças espirituais do mal, nas regiões celestiais.
13 Therfor take ye the armere of God, that ye moun ayenstonde in the yuel dai; and in alle thingis stonde perfit.
13 Por isso, peguem toda a armadura de Deus, para que vocês possam resistir no dia mau e, depois de terem vencido tudo, permanecer inabaláveis.
14 Therfor stonde ye, and be gird aboute youre leendis in sothefastnesse, and clothid with the haburioun of riytwisnesse,
14 Portanto, fiquem firmes, cingindo-se com a verdade e vestindo a couraça da justiça.
15 and youre feet schood in making redi of the gospel of pees.
15 Tenham os pés calçados com a preparação do evangelho da paz,
16 In alle thingis take ye the scheld of feith, in which ye moun quenche alle the firy dartis of `the worste.
16 segurando sempre o escudo da fé, com o qual poderão apagar todos os dardos inflamados do Maligno.
17 And take ye the helm of helthe, and the swerd of the Goost, that is, the word of God.
17 Usem também o capacete da salvação e a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus.
18 Bi al preier and bisechyng preie ye al tyme in spirit, and in hym wakinge in al bisynesse, and bisechyng for alle hooli men, and for me;
18 Orem em todo tempo no Espírito, com todo tipo de oração e súplica, e para isto vigiem com toda perseverança e súplica por todos os santos.
19 that word be youun to me in openyng of my mouth, with trist to make knowun the mysterie of the gospel,
19 E orem também por mim, para que, no abrir da minha boca, me seja dada a palavra, para com ousadia tornar conhecido o mistério do evangelho,
20 for which Y am set in message in a chayne; so that in it Y be hardi to speke, as it bihoueth me.
20 pelo qual sou embaixador em cadeias, para que, em Cristo, eu seja ousado para falar, como me cumpre fazer.
21 And ye wite, what thingis ben aboute me, what Y do, Titicus, my moost dere brother, and trewe mynystre in the Lord, schal make alle thingis knowun to you;
21 E, para que saibam como estou e o que estou fazendo, Tíquico, o irmão amado e fiel ministro do Senhor, lhes dará todas as informações.
22 whom Y sente to you for this same thing, that ye knowe what thingis ben aboute vs, and that he coumforte youre hertis.
22 Eu o estou enviando a vocês com esta finalidade: para que conheçam a nossa situação e para que ele console o coração de vocês.
23 Pees to britheren, and charite, with feith of God oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.
23 Paz seja com os irmãos e amor com fé, da parte de Deus Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
24 Grace with alle men that louen oure Lord Jhesu Crist in vncorrupcioun. Amen, `that is, So be it.
24 A graça esteja com todos os que amam sinceramente o nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
