1 These ben the comaundementis, and cerymonyes, and domes, whiche youre Lord God comaundide that Y schulde teche you, and that ye do tho in the lond to which ye passen ouer to welde;
1 — São estes os mandamentos, os estatutos e os juízos que o Senhor , seu Deus, ordenou que fossem ensinados a vocês, para que vocês os cumprissem na terra em que vão entrar e possuir,
2 that thou drede thi Lord God, and kepe alle hise comaundementis, and heestis, whiche Y comaunde to thee, and to thi sones, and sones of sones, in alle the daies of thi lijf, that thi daies be lengthid.
2 para que durante todos os dias da sua vida vocês, os seus filhos, e os filhos dos seus filhos temam o Senhor , seu Deus, e guardem todos os seus estatutos e mandamentos que eu lhes ordeno, e para que os seus dias sejam prolongados.
3 Thou Israel, here, and kepe, that thou do tho thingis whiche the Lord comaundide to thee, and that it be wel to thee, and thou be multiplied more, as the Lord God of thi fadris bihiyte, to yyue to thee a lond flowynge with mylk and hony.
3 Portanto, escute, Israel, e tenha o cuidado de cumprir esses mandamentos, para que tudo lhes corra bem e vocês muito se multipliquem na terra que mana leite e mel, como o Senhor , o Deus dos seus pais, lhes prometeu.
4 Thou Israel, here, thi Lord God is o God.
4 — Escute, Israel, o Senhor , nosso Deus, é o único Senhor .
5 Thou schalt loue thi Lord God of al thin herte, and of al thi soule, and of al thi strengthe.
5 Portanto, ame o Senhor , seu Deus, de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua alma e com toda a sua força.
6 And these wordis whiche Y comaunde to thee to dai, schulen be in thin herte;
6 Estas palavras que hoje lhe ordeno estarão no seu coração.
7 and thou schalt telle tho to thi sones, and thou schalt thenke on tho, sittynge in thin hows, and goynge in the weie, slepynge, and rysinge.
7 Você as inculcará a seus filhos, e delas falará quando estiver sentado em sua casa, andando pelo caminho, ao deitar-se e ao levantar-se.
8 And thou schalt bynde tho as a signe in thin hond; and tho schulen be, and schulen be moued bifor thin iyen; and thou schalt write tho in the lyntel,
8 Também deve amarrá-las como sinal na sua mão, e elas lhe serão por frontal entre os olhos.
9 and in the doris of thin hows.
9 E você as escreverá nos umbrais de sua casa e nas suas portas.
10 And whanne thi Lord God hath brouyt thee in to the lond, for which he swoor to thi fadris, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and hath youe to thee grete citees, and beeste, whiche thou bildidist not,
10 — Quando, pois, o Senhor , seu Deus, tiver levado vocês para a terra que, sob juramento, prometeu aos seus pais Abraão, Isaque e Jacó, que daria a vocês — uma terra com grandes e boas cidades, que vocês não construíram;
11 housis fulle of alle richessis, whiche thou madist not, and cisternes, which thou diggedist not, `places of vynes, and `places of olyues, whiche thou plauntidist not,
11 com casas cheias de tudo o que é bom, que vocês não encheram; com poços abertos, que vocês não cavaram; com vinhas e olivais, que vocês não plantaram — e quando vocês comerem e se fartarem,
12 and thou hast ete, and art fillid,
12 tenham o cuidado de não esquecer o Senhor , que os tirou da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão.
13 be war diligentli, lest thou foryete the Lord, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hows of seruage. Thou schalt drede thi Lord God, and thou schalt serue hym aloone, `bi seruyce due to God onely, and thou schalt swere bi his name.
13 Temam o Senhor , seu Deus, sirvam a ele e jurem somente pelo nome dele.
14 Ye schulen not go aftir alien goddis, of alle hethen men that ben `in youre cumpas;
14 Não sigam outros deuses, nenhum dos deuses dos povos que estiverem à sua volta,
15 for God is a feruent louyere, thi Lord God is in the myddis of thee, lest ony tyme the `strong veniaunce of thi Lord God be wrooth ayens thee, and do awei thee fro `the face of the erthe.
15 porque o Senhor , seu Deus, é Deus zeloso no meio de vocês, para que a ira do Senhor , seu Deus, não se acenda contra vocês e os destrua de sobre a face da terra.
16 Thou schalt not tempte thi Lord God, as thou temptidist in the place of temptyng.
16 — Não ponham à prova o Senhor , seu Deus, como o fizeram em Massá.
17 Kepe thou the comaundementis of thi Lord God, and the witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, whiche he comaundide to thee;
17 Guardem cuidadosamente os mandamentos do Senhor , seu Deus, os seus testemunhos e os seus estatutos que ele lhes ordenou.
18 and do thou that that is plesaunt and good in the siyt of the Lord, that it be wel to thee, and that thou entre, and welde the beste lond, of which the Lord swoor to thi fadris,
18 Façam o que é reto e bom aos olhos do Senhor , para que tudo lhes vá bem, e para que vocês entrem e possuam a boa terra que o Senhor , sob juramento, prometeu aos pais de vocês,
19 that he schulde do awey alle thin enemyes bifor thee, as he spak.
19 expulsando todos os inimigos de diante de vocês, como o Senhor prometeu.
20 And whanne thi sone schal axe thee to morewe, that is, in tyme comyng, and schal seie, What wolen these witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, and domes to hem silf, whiche oure Lord God comaundide to vs?
20 — Quando, no futuro, os seus filhos perguntarem: “Que significam os testemunhos, estatutos e juízos que o Senhor , nosso Deus, lhes ordenou?”,
21 thou schalt seie to hym, We weren `seruauntis of Farao in Egipt, and the Lord ledde vs out of Egipt, in strong hond;
21 vocês dirão a eles: “Nós éramos escravos de Faraó, no Egito, mas o Senhor nos tirou de lá com mão poderosa.
22 and he dide myraclis, and grete wondris, and werste, `that is, moost peyneful veniaunces, in Egipt, ayens Farao and al his hows, in oure siyt.
22 Diante dos nossos olhos o Senhor fez sinais e maravilhas, grandes e terríveis, contra o Egito e contra Faraó e toda a sua casa.
23 And he ledde vs out therof, that he schulde yyue to vs led yn, the lond of which he swoor to oure fadris.
23 Ele nos tirou do Egito, para nos trazer e nos dar a terra que, sob juramento, prometeu aos nossos pais.
24 And the Lord comaundide to vs, that we do alle these lawful thingis, and drede oure Lord God, that it be wel to vs in alle the daies of oure lijf, as it is to dai.
24 O Senhor nos ordenou que cumpríssemos todos estes estatutos e temêssemos o Senhor , nosso Deus, para o nosso perpétuo bem, para nos preservar a vida, como tem feito até hoje.
25 And he schal be merciful to vs, if we schulen do and kepe alle hise heestis, bifor oure Lord God, as he comaundide to vs.
25 E será justiça para nós, quando tivermos cuidado de cumprir todos estes mandamentos diante do Senhor , nosso Deus, como ele nos ordenou.”
