1 If a man takith a wijf, and hath hir, and sche fyndith not grace bifor hise iyen for sum vilite, he schal write a `libel, ethir litil book, of forsakyng, and he schal yyue in `the hond of hir, and he schal delyuere hir fro his hows.
1 Se um homem tomar uma mulher e se casar com ela, e se ela não for agradável aos seus olhos, por ter ele achado coisa indecente nela, e se ele lhe lavrar um termo de divórcio, e lho der na mão, e a despedir de casa;
2 And whanne sche goith out, and weddith anothir hosebonde,
2 e se ela, saindo da sua casa, for e se casar com outro homem;
3 and he also hatith hir, and yyueth to hir a `litil booke of forsakyng, and delyuereth hir fro his hows, ethir certis he is deed,
3 e se este a aborrecer, e lhe lavrar termo de divórcio, e lho der na mão, e a despedir da sua casa ou se este último homem, que a tomou para si por mulher, vier a morrer,
4 the formere hosebonde schal not mow resseyue hir in to wijf, for sche is defoulid, and maad abhomynable bifore the Lord; lest thou make thi lond to do synne, which lond thi Lord God yaf to thee to welde.
4 então, seu primeiro marido, que a despediu, não poderá tornar a desposá-la para que seja sua mulher, depois que foi contaminada, pois é abominação perante o Senhor ; assim, não farás pecar a terra que o Senhor , teu Deus, te dá por herança.
5 Whanne a man hath take late a wijf, he schal not go forth to batel, nethir ony thing of comyn nede schal be enioyned to hym, but he schal yyue tent with out blame to his hows, that he be glad in o yeer with his wijf.
5 Homem recém-casado não sairá à guerra, nem se lhe imporá qualquer encargo; por um ano ficará livre em casa e promoverá felicidade à mulher que tomou.
6 Thou schalt not take in the stide of wed the lowere and the hiyere queerne stoon of thi brothir, for he puttide his lijf to thee.
6 Não se tomarão em penhor as duas mós, nem apenas a de cima, pois se penhoraria, assim, a vida.
7 If a man is takun, `that is, conuyct in doom, bisili aspiynge to stele his brothir of the sones of Israel, and whanne he hath seeld hym, takith priys, he schal be slayn; and thou schalt do awey yuel fro the myddis of thee.
7 Se se achar alguém que, tendo roubado um dentre os seus irmãos, dos filhos de Israel, o trata como escravo ou o vende, esse ladrão morrerá. Assim, eliminarás o mal do meio de ti.
8 Kepe thou diligentli, lest thou renne in to the sijknesse of lepre, but thou schalt do what euer thingis the preestis of the kyn of Leuy techen thee, bi that that Y comaundide to hem, and `fille thou diligentli.
8 Guarda-te da praga da lepra e tem diligente cuidado de fazer segundo tudo o que te ensinarem os sacerdotes levitas; como lhes tenho ordenado, terás cuidado de o fazer.
9 Haue ye mynde what thingis youre Lord God dide to Marie, in the weie, whanne ye yede `out of Egipt.
9 Lembra-te do que o Senhor , teu Deus, fez a Miriã no caminho, quando saíste do Egito.
10 Whanne thou schalt axe of thi neiyebore ony thing which he owith to thee, thou schalt not entre in to his hows, that thou take awei a wed;
10 Se emprestares alguma coisa ao teu próximo, não entrarás em sua casa para lhe tirar o penhor.
11 but thou schalt stonde with out forth, and he schal brynge forth that that he hath.
11 Ficarás do lado de fora, e o homem, a quem emprestaste, aí te trará o penhor.
12 Sotheli if he is pore, the wed schal not dwelle bi nyyt at thee,
12 Porém, se for homem pobre, não usarás de noite o seu penhor;
13 but anoon thou schalt yelde to hym bifor the goyng doun of the sunne, that he slepe in his cloth, and blesse thee, and thou haue riytfulnesse bifor thi Lord God.
13 em se pondo o sol, restituir-lhe-ás, sem falta, o penhor para que durma no seu manto e te abençoe; isto te será justiça diante do Senhor , teu Deus.
14 Thou schalt not denye the hire of thi brother nedi and pore, ethir of the comelyng that dwellith with thee in thi lond, and is with ynne thi yatis;
14 Não oprimirás o jornaleiro pobre e necessitado, seja ele teu irmão ou estrangeiro que está na tua terra e na tua cidade.
15 but in the same dai thou schalt yelde to hym the prijs of his trauel, bifor the goyng doun of the sunne, for he is pore, and susteyneth therof his lijf; lest he crye ayens thee to the Lord, and it be arettid to thee into synne.
15 No seu dia, lhe darás o seu salário, antes do pôr do sol, porquanto é pobre, e disso depende a sua vida; para que não clame contra ti ao Senhor , e haja em ti pecado.
16 The fadris schulen not be slayn for the sones, nether the sones for the fadris, but ech man schal die for hys owne synne.
16 Os pais não serão mortos em lugar dos filhos, nem os filhos, em lugar dos pais; cada qual será morto pelo seu pecado.
17 Thou schalt not `peruerte, ethir waiwardli turne, the doom of the comelyng, and of fadirles ethir modirles; nethir thou schalt take awei in the stide of wed the cloth of a widewe.
17 Não perverterás o direito do estrangeiro e do órfão; nem tomarás em penhor a roupa da viúva.
18 Haue thou mynde, that thou seruedist in Egipt, and thi Lord God delyuerede thee fro thennus; therfor Y comaunde to thee that thou do this thing.
18 Lembrar-te-ás de que foste escravo no Egito e de que o Senhor te livrou dali; pelo que te ordeno que faças isso.
19 Whanne thou repist corn in the feeld, and foryetist, and leeuest a repe, thou schalt not turne ayen to take it, but thou schalt suffre that a comelyng, and fadirles, ethir modirles, and a widewe take awei, that thi Lord God blesse thee in al the werk of thin hondis.
19 Quando, no teu campo, segares a messe e, nele, esqueceres um feixe de espigas, não voltarás a tomá-lo; para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva será; para que o Senhor , teu Deus, te abençoe em toda obra das tuas mãos.
20 If thou gaderist fruytis of olyues, what euer thing leeueth in trees, thou schalt not turne ayen to gadere, but thou schalt leeue to a comelyng, fadirles, ether modirles, and to a widewe.
20 Quando sacudires a tua oliveira, não voltarás a colher o fruto dos ramos; para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva será.
21 If thou gaderist grapis of the vyner, thou schalt not gadere raisyns that leeuen, but tho schulen falle in to the vsis of the comelyng, of the fadirles, ethir modirles, and of the wydewe.
21 Quando vindimares a tua vinha, não tornarás a rebuscá-la; para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva será o restante.
22 Haue thou mynde that also thou seruedist in Egipt, and therfor Y comaunde to thee, that thou do this thing.
22 Lembrar-te-ás de que foste escravo na terra do Egito; pelo que te ordeno que faças isso.
