1 Therfor if ye han risun togidere with Crist, seke ye tho thingis that ben aboue, where Crist is sittynge in the riythalf of God.
1 Portanto, se vocês foram ressuscitados juntamente com Cristo, busquem as coisas lá do alto, onde Cristo vive, assentado à direita de Deus.
2 Sauere ye tho thingis, that ben aboue, not tho that ben on the erthe.
2 Pensem nas coisas lá do alto, e não nas que são aqui da terra.
3 For ye ben deed, and youre lijf is hid with Crist in God.
3 Porque vocês morreram, e a vida de vocês está oculta juntamente com Cristo, em Deus.
4 For whanne Crist schal appere, youre lijf, thanne also ye schulen appere with hym in glorie.
4 Quando Cristo, que é a vida de vocês, se manifestar, então vocês também serão manifestados com ele, em glória.
5 Therfor sle ye youre membris, whiche ben on the erthe, fornycacioun, vnclennesse, letcherie, yuel coueitise, and aueryse, which is seruyse of mawmetis;
5 Portanto, façam morrer tudo o que pertence à natureza terrena: imoralidade sexual, impureza, paixões, maus desejos e a avareza, que é idolatria;
6 for whiche thingis the wraththe of God cam on the sones of vnbileue;
6 por causa destas coisas é que vem a ira de Deus sobre os filhos da desobediência.
7 in whiche also ye walkiden sum tyme, whanne ye lyueden in hem.
7 Vocês também andaram nessas mesmas coisas, no passado, quando viviam nelas.
8 But now putte ye awei alle thingis, wraththe, indignacioun, malice, blasfemye and foule word of youre mouth.
8 Agora, porém, abandonem igualmente todas estas coisas: ira, indignação, maldade, blasfêmia, linguagem obscena no falar.
9 Nyle ye lie togidere; spuyle ye you fro the elde man with his dedes, and clothe ye the newe man,
9 Não mintam uns aos outros, uma vez que vocês se despiram da velha natureza com as suas práticas
10 that is maad newe ayen in to the knowing of God, aftir the ymage of hym that made hym;
10 e se revestiram da nova natureza que se renova para o pleno conhecimento, segundo a imagem daquele que a criou.
11 where is not male and female, hethene man and Jew, circumcisioun and prepucie, barbarus and Scita, bonde man and fre man, but alle thingis and in alle thingis Crist.
11 Aqui não pode haver mais grego e judeu, circuncisão e incircuncisão, bárbaro, cita, escravo, livre, mas Cristo é tudo e está em todos.
12 Therfor ye, as the chosun of God, hooli and louyd, clothe you with the entrailis of merci, benygnite, and mekenesse, temperaunce, pacience;
12 Portanto, como eleitos de Deus, santos e amados, revistam-se de profunda compaixão, de bondade, de humildade, de mansidão, de paciência.
13 and support ye echon other, and foryyue to you silf, if ony man ayens ony hath a querele; as the Lord foryaf to you, so also ye.
13 Suportem-se uns aos outros e perdoem-se mutuamente, caso alguém tenha motivo de queixa contra outra pessoa. Assim como o Senhor perdoou vocês, perdoem também uns aos outros.
14 And vpon alle these thingis haue ye charite, that is the boond of perfeccioun.
14 Acima de tudo isto, porém, esteja o amor, que é o vínculo da perfeição.
15 And the pees of Crist enioye in youre hertis, in which ye ben clepid in o bodi, and be ye kynde.
15 Que a paz de Cristo seja o árbitro no coração de vocês, pois foi para essa paz que vocês foram chamados em um só corpo. E sejam agradecidos.
16 The word of Crist dwelle in you plenteuousli, in al wisdom; and teche and moneste you silf in salmes, and ympnes, and spiritual songis, in grace synginge in youre hertis to the Lord.
16 Que a palavra de Cristo habite ricamente em vocês. Instruam e aconselhem-se mutuamente em toda a sabedoria, louvando a Deus com salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais, com gratidão no coração.
17 Al thing, what euere thing ye don, in word or in dede, alle thingis in the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, doynge thankyngis to God and to the fadir bi hym.
17 E tudo o que fizerem, seja em palavra, seja em ação, façam em nome do Senhor Jesus, dando por ele graças a Deus Pai.
18 Wymmen, be ye sugetis to youre hosebondis, as it bihoueth in the Lord.
18 Esposas, que cada uma de vocês se sujeite a seu próprio marido, como convém no Senhor.
19 Men, loue ye youre wyues, and nyle ye be bittere to hem.
19 Maridos, que cada um de vocês ame a sua esposa e não a trate com amargura.
20 Sones, obeie ye to youre fadir and modir bi alle thingis; for this is wel plesinge in the Lord.
20 Filhos, em tudo obedeçam a seus pais, pois fazer isso é agradável diante do Senhor.
21 Fadris, nyle ye terre youre sones to indignacioun, that thei be not maad feble hertid.
21 Pais, não irritem os seus filhos, para que eles não fiquem desanimados.
22 Seruauntis, obeie ye bi alle thingis to fleischli lordis, not seruynge at iye, as plesynge to men, but in symplenesse of herte, dredinge the Lord.
22 Servos, obedeçam em tudo a seus senhores aqui na terra, não servindo apenas quando estão sendo vigiados, visando somente agradar pessoas, mas com sinceridade de coração, temendo o Senhor.
23 What euer ye doen, worche ye of wille, as to the Lord and not to men;
23 Tudo o que fizerem, façam de todo o coração, como para o Senhor e não para as pessoas,
24 witinge that of the Lord ye schulen take yelding of eritage. Serue ye to the Lord Crist.
24 sabendo que receberão do Senhor a recompensa da herança. É a Cristo, o Senhor, que vocês estão servindo.
25 For he that doith iniurie, schal resseyue that that he dide yuele; and acceptacioun of persoones is not anentis God.
25 E quem fizer injustiça receberá em troca a injustiça feita. E nisto ninguém será tratado com parcialidade.
