1 Forsothe it was don, whanne the Lord wolde reise Elie bi a whirlewynd in to heuene, Elie and Elisee yeden fro Galgalis.
1 Quando estava o Senhor para tomar Elias ao céu por um redemoinho, Elias partiu de Gilgal em companhia de Eliseu.
2 And Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me til into Bethel. To whom Elisee seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. And whanne thei hadden come doun to Bethel,
2 Disse Elias a Eliseu: Fica-te aqui, porque o Senhor me enviou a Betel. Respondeu Eliseu: Tão certo como vive o Senhor e vive a tua alma, não te deixarei. E, assim, desceram a Betel.
3 the sones of prophetis, that weren in Bethel, yeden out to Elisee, and seiden to hym, Whether thou knowist, that the Lord schal take awey thi lord to dai fro thee? Which answeride, And I knowe; be ye stille.
3 Então, os discípulos dos profetas que estavam em Betel saíram ao encontro de Eliseu e lhe disseram: Sabes que o Senhor , hoje, tomará o teu senhor, elevando-o por sobre a tua cabeça? Respondeu ele: Também eu o sei; calai-vos.
4 Forsothe Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me into Jerico. And he seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. And whanne thei hadden come to Jerico,
4 Disse Elias a Eliseu: Fica-te aqui, porque o Senhor me enviou a Jericó. Porém ele disse: Tão certo como vive o Senhor e vive a tua alma, não te deixarei. E, assim, foram a Jericó.
5 the sones of prophetis, that weren in Jerico, neiyiden to Elisee, and seiden to hym, Whether thou knowist, that the Lord schal take awei thi lord to dai fro thee? And he seide, Y knowe; be ye stille.
5 Então, os discípulos dos profetas que estavam em Jericó se chegaram a Eliseu e lhe disseram: Sabes que o Senhor , hoje, tomará o teu senhor, elevando-o por sobre a tua cabeça? Respondeu ele: Também eu o sei; calai-vos.
6 Forsothe Elie seide to Elisee, Sitte thou here, for the Lord sente me `til to Jordan. Which seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, for Y schal not forsake thee. Therfor bothe yeden togidere;
6 Disse-lhe, pois, Elias: Fica-te aqui, porque o Senhor me enviou ao Jordão. Mas ele disse: Tão certo como vive o Senhor e vive a tua alma, não te deixarei. E, assim, ambos foram juntos.
7 and fifti men of the sones of prophetis sueden, which also stoden fer euen ayens; sothely thei bothe stoden ouer Jordan.
7 Foram cinquenta homens dos discípulos dos profetas e pararam a certa distância deles; eles ambos pararam junto ao Jordão.
8 And Elie took his mentil, and wlappide it, and smoot the watris; whiche weren departid `into euer ethir part, and bothe yeden bi the drie.
8 Então, Elias tomou o seu manto, enrolou-o e feriu as águas, as quais se dividiram para os dois lados; e passaram ambos em seco.
9 And whanne thei hadden passid, Elie seide to Elisee, Axe thou that, that thou wolt that Y do to thee, bifor that Y be takun awey fro thee. And Elisee seide, Y biseche, that thi double spirit be `maad in me.
9 Havendo eles passado, Elias disse a Eliseu: Pede-me o que queres que eu te faça, antes que seja tomado de ti. Disse Eliseu: Peço-te que me toque por herança porção dobrada do teu espírito.
10 Which Elie answeride, Thou axist an hard thing; netheles if thou schalt se me, whanne Y schal be takun awei fro thee, that that thou axidist schal be; sotheli, if thou schalt not se, it schal not be.
10 Tornou-lhe Elias: Dura coisa pediste. Todavia, se me vires quando for tomado de ti, assim se te fará; porém, se não me vires, não se fará.
11 And whanne thei yeden, and spaken goynge, lo! a chare of fier and horsys of fier departiden euer either; and Elie stiede bi a whirlewynd in to heuene.
11 Indo eles andando e falando, eis que um carro de fogo, com cavalos de fogo, os separou um do outro; e Elias subiu ao céu num redemoinho.
12 Forsothe Elise siy, and criede, My fadir! my fadir! the chare of Israel, and the charietere therof. And he siy no more Elie. And he took hise clothis, and to-rente tho in to twei partis.
12 O que vendo Eliseu, clamou: Meu pai, meu pai, carros de Israel e seus cavaleiros! E nunca mais o viu; e, tomando as suas vestes, rasgou-as em duas partes.
13 And he reiside the mentil of Elie, that felde doun to hym; and he turnede ayen, and stood ouer the ryuer of Jordan.
13 Então, levantou o manto que Elias lhe deixara cair e, voltando-se, pôs-se à borda do Jordão.
14 And with the mentil of Elie, that felde doun to hym, he smoot the watris, whiche weren not departid. And he seide, Where is God of Elie also now? And he smoot the watris, and tho weren departid hidur and thidur; and Elisee passide.
14 Tomou o manto que Elias lhe deixara cair, feriu as águas e disse: Onde está o Senhor , Deus de Elias? Quando feriu ele as águas, elas se dividiram para um e outro lado, e Eliseu passou.
15 Sotheli the sones of prophetis, that weren in Jerico euene ayens, siyen, and seiden, The spirit of Elie restide on Elisee. And thei camen in to the meetyng of hym, and worschipiden hym lowli to erthe.
15 Vendo-o, pois, os discípulos dos profetas que estavam defronte, em Jericó, disseram: O espírito de Elias repousa sobre Eliseu. Vieram-lhe ao encontro e se prostraram diante dele em terra.
16 And thei seiden to hym, Lo! with thi seruauntis ben fifti stronge men, that moun go, and seke thi lord, lest perauenture the Spirit of the Lord hath take hym, and hath cast forth hym in oon of the hillis, ethir in oon of the valeys.
16 E lhe disseram: Eis que entre os teus servos há cinquenta homens valentes; ora, deixa-os ir em procura do teu senhor; pode ser que o Espírito do Senhor o tenha levado e lançado nalgum dos montes ou nalgum dos vales. Porém ele respondeu: Não os envieis.
17 Which seide, `Nyle ye sende. And thei constreyneden hym, til he assentide to hem, and seide, Sende ye. And thei senten fifti men; and whanne thei hadden souyt bi thre daies, thei founden not.
17 Mas eles apertaram com ele, até que, constrangido, lhes disse: Enviai. E enviaram cinquenta homens, que o procuraram três dias, porém não o acharam.
18 And thei turneden ayen to hym; and he dwelide in Jerico. And he seide to hem, Whether Y seide not to you, Nyle ye sende?
18 Então, voltaram para ele, pois permanecera em Jericó; e ele lhes disse: Não vos disse que não fôsseis?
19 Therfor the men of the citee seiden to Elisee, Lo! the dwellyng of this cite is ful good, as thou thi silf, lord, seest; but the watris ben ful yuele, and the lond is bareyn.
19 Os homens da cidade disseram a Eliseu: Eis que é bem-situada esta cidade, como vê o meu senhor, porém as águas são más, e a terra é estéril.
20 And he seide, Brynge ye to me a newe vessel, and sende ye salt in to it. And whanne thei hadden brouyt it,
20 Ele disse: Trazei-me um prato novo e ponde nele sal. E lho trouxeram.
21 he yede out to the welle of watris, and sente salt in to it, and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, Y haue helid these watris, and nethir deeth, nether bareynesse, schal be more in tho.
21 Então, saiu ele ao manancial das águas e deitou sal nele; e disse: Assim diz o Senhor : Tornei saudáveis estas águas; já não procederá daí morte nem esterilidade.
22 Therfor the watris weren heelid til in to this dai, bi the word of Elisee, which he spak.
22 Ficaram, pois, saudáveis aquelas águas, até ao dia de hoje, segundo a palavra que Eliseu tinha dito.
23 Forsothe Elisee stiede fro thennus in to Bethel; and whanne he stiede bi the weie, litle children yeden out of the citee, and scorneden hym, and seiden, Stie, thou ballard! stie, thou ballard!
23 Então, subiu dali a Betel; e, indo ele pelo caminho, uns rapazinhos saíram da cidade, e zombavam dele, e diziam-lhe: Sobe, calvo! Sobe, calvo!
24 And whanne he hadde biholde, he siy hem, and curside hem in the name of the Lord. And twey beeris yeden out of the forest, and to-rente fourti children of hem.
24 Virando-se ele para trás, viu-os e os amaldiçoou em nome do Senhor ; então, duas ursas saíram do bosque e despedaçaram quarenta e dois deles.
25 Sotheli Elisee wente fro thennus in to the hil of Carmele, and fro thennus he turnede `ayen to Samarie.
25 Dali, foi ele para o monte Carmelo, de onde voltou para Samaria.
