1 Therfor, most dereworthe britheren, we that han these biheestis, clense we vs fro al filthe of the fleische and of the spirit, doynge holynesse in the drede of God.
1 Tendo, pois, ó amados, tais promessas, purifiquemo-nos de toda impureza, tanto da carne como do espírito, aperfeiçoando a nossa santidade no temor de Deus.
2 Take ye vs; we han hirt no man, we han apeirid no man, we han bigilid no man.
2 Acolhei-nos em vosso coração; a ninguém tratamos com injustiça, a ninguém corrompemos, a ninguém exploramos.
3 Y seie not to youre condempnyng; for Y seide bifor, that ye ben in youre hertis, to die togidere and to lyue togidere.
3 Não falo para vos condenar; porque já vos tenho dito que estais em nosso coração para, juntos, morrermos e vivermos.
4 Myche trist is to me anentis you, myche gloriyng is to me for you. Y am fillid with coumfort, Y am plenteuouse in ioie in al oure tribulacioun.
4 Mui grande é a minha franqueza para convosco, e muito me glorio por vossa causa; sinto-me grandemente confortado e transbordante de júbilo em toda a nossa tribulação.
5 For whanne we weren comun to Macedonye, oure fleisch hadde no reste, but we suffriden al tribulacioun; with outforth fiytingis, and dredis with ynne.
5 Porque, chegando nós à Macedônia, nenhum alívio tivemos; pelo contrário, em tudo fomos atribulados: lutas por fora, temores por dentro.
6 But God that coumfortith meke men, coumfortide vs in the comyng of Tite.
6 Porém Deus, que conforta os abatidos, nos consolou com a chegada de Tito;
7 And not oneli in the comyng of him, but also in the coumfort bi which he was coumfortid in you, tellinge to vs youre desire, youre weping, youre loue for me, so that Y ioiede more.
7 e não somente com a sua chegada, mas também pelo conforto que recebeu de vós, referindo-nos a vossa saudade, o vosso pranto, o vosso zelo por mim, aumentando, assim, meu regozijo.
8 For thouy Y made you sorie in a pistle, it rewith me not; thouy it rewide, seynge that thouy thilke pistle made you sori at an our, now Y haue ioie;
8 Porquanto, ainda que vos tenha contristado com a carta, não me arrependo; embora já me tenha arrependido (vejo que aquela carta vos contristou por breve tempo),
9 not for ye weren maad soreuful, but for ye weren maad soreuful to penaunce. For whi ye ben maad sori aftir God, that in no thing ye suffre peirement of vs.
9 agora, me alegro não porque fostes contristados, mas porque fostes contristados para arrependimento; pois fostes contristados segundo Deus, para que, de nossa parte, nenhum dano sofrêsseis.
10 For the sorewe that is aftir God, worchith penaunce in to stidfast heelthe; but sorewe of the world worchith deth.
10 Porque a tristeza segundo Deus produz arrependimento para a salvação, que a ninguém traz pesar; mas a tristeza do mundo produz morte.
11 For lo! this same thing, that ye ben soreuful aftir God, hou myche bisynesse it worchith in you; but defendyng, but indignacioun, but drede, but desire, but loue, but veniaunce. In alle thingis ye han youun you silf to be vndefoulid in the cause.
11 Porque quanto cuidado não produziu isto mesmo em vós que, segundo Deus, fostes contristados! Que defesa, que indignação, que temor, que saudades, que zelo, que vindita! Em tudo destes prova de estardes inocentes neste assunto.
12 Therfor thouy Y wroot to you, Y wroot not for hym that dide the iniurie, nether for hym that suffride, but to schewe oure bisinesse, which we han for you bifor God.
12 Portanto, embora vos tenha escrito, não foi por causa do que fez o mal, nem por causa do que sofreu o agravo, mas para que a vossa solicitude a nosso favor fosse manifesta entre vós, diante de Deus.
13 Therfor we ben coumfortid, but in youre coumfort more plenteuousli we ioyeden more on the ioie of Tite, for his spirit is fulfillid of alle you.
13 Foi por isso que nos sentimos confortados. E, acima desta nossa consolação, muito mais nos alegramos pelo contentamento de Tito, cujo espírito foi recreado por todos vós.
14 And if Y gloriede ony thing anentis hym of you, Y am not confoundid; but as we han spoke to you alle thingis, so also oure glorie that was at Tite, is maad treuthe.
14 Porque, se nalguma coisa me gloriei de vós para com ele, não fiquei envergonhado; pelo contrário, como, em tudo, vos falamos com verdade, também a nossa exaltação na presença de Tito se verificou ser verdadeira.
15 And the inwardnesse of hym be more plenteuousli in you, which hath in mynde the obedience of you alle, hou with drede and trembling ye resseyueden hym.
15 E o seu entranhável afeto cresce mais e mais para convosco, lembrando-se da obediência de todos vós, de como o recebestes com temor e tremor.
16 Y haue ioye, that in alle thingis Y triste in you.
16 Alegro-me porque, em tudo, posso confiar em vós.
