1 Therfor, britheren, fro hennus forward we preien you, and bisechen in the Lord Jhesu, that as ye han resseyued of vs, hou it bihoueth you to go and to plese God, so walke ye, that ye abounde the more.
1 Finalmente, irmãos, nós vos rogamos e exortamos no Senhor Jesus que, como de nós recebestes, quanto à maneira por que deveis viver e agradar a Deus, e efetivamente estais fazendo, continueis progredindo cada vez mais;
2 For ye witen what comaundementis Y haue youun to you bi the Lord Jhesu.
2 porque estais inteirados de quantas instruções vos demos da parte do Senhor Jesus.
3 For this is the wille of God, youre holynesse, that ye absteyne you fro fornycacioun.
3 Pois esta é a vontade de Deus: a vossa santificação, que vos abstenhais da prostituição;
4 That ech of you kunne welde his vessel in holynesse, and onour;
4 que cada um de vós saiba possuir o próprio corpo em santificação e honra,
5 not in passioun of lust, as hethene men that knowen not God.
5 não com o desejo de lascívia, como os gentios que não conhecem a Deus;
6 And that no man ouergo, nethir disseyue his brothir in chaffaring. For the Lord is venger of alle these thingis, as we biforseiden to you, and han witnessid.
6 e que, nesta matéria, ninguém ofenda nem defraude a seu irmão; porque o Senhor, contra todas estas coisas, como antes vos avisamos e testificamos claramente, é o vingador,
7 For God clepide not vs in to vnclennesse, but in to holynesse.
7 porquanto Deus não nos chamou para a impureza, e sim para a santificação.
8 Therfor he that dispisith these thingis, dispisith not man, but God, that also yaf his holi spirit in vs.
8 Dessarte, quem rejeita estas coisas não rejeita o homem, e sim a Deus, que também vos dá o seu Espírito Santo.
9 But of the charite of britherhed we hadden no nede to write to you; ye silf han lerud of God, that ye loue togidere;
9 No tocante ao amor fraternal, não há necessidade de que eu vos escreva, porquanto vós mesmos estais por Deus instruídos que deveis amar-vos uns aos outros;
10 for ye don that in to alle britheren in al Macedonye. And, britheren, we preyen you, that ye abounde more; and taken kepe, that ye be quyet;
10 e, na verdade, estais praticando isso mesmo para com todos os irmãos em toda a Macedônia. Contudo, vos exortamos, irmãos, a progredirdes cada vez mais
11 and that ye do youre nede, and `ye worche with youre hoondis, as we han comaundid to you; and that ye wandre onestli to hem that ben with outforth, and that of no mannus ye desir ony thing.
11 e a diligenciardes por viver tranquilamente, cuidar do que é vosso e trabalhar com as próprias mãos, como vos ordenamos;
12 For, britheren, we wolen not, that ye vnknowe of men that dien, that ye be not soreuful, as othere that han not hope.
12 de modo que vos porteis com dignidade para com os de fora e de nada venhais a precisar.
13 For if we bileuen, that Jhesu was deed, and roos ayen, so God schal lede with hym hem that ben deed bi Jhesu.
13 Não queremos, porém, irmãos, que sejais ignorantes com respeito aos que dormem, para não vos entristecerdes como os demais, que não têm esperança.
14 And we seien this thing to you in the word of the Lord, that we that lyuen, that ben left in the comyng of the Lord, schulen not come bifor hem that ben deed.
14 Pois, se cremos que Jesus morreu e ressuscitou, assim também Deus, mediante Jesus, trará, em sua companhia, os que dormem.
15 For the Lord hym silf schal come doun fro heuene, in the comaundement, and in the vois of an archaungel, and in the trumpe of God; and the deed men that ben in Crist, schulen rise ayen first.
15 Ora, ainda vos declaramos, por palavra do Senhor, isto: nós, os vivos, os que ficarmos até à vinda do Senhor, de modo algum precederemos os que dormem.
16 Afterward we that lyuen, that ben left, schulen be rauyschid togidere with hem in cloudis, metinge Crist `in to the eir; and so euere more we schulen be with the Lord.
16 Porquanto o Senhor mesmo, dada a sua palavra de ordem, ouvida a voz do arcanjo, e ressoada a trombeta de Deus, descerá dos céus, e os mortos em Cristo ressuscitarão primeiro;
17 Therfor be ye coumfortid togidere in these wordis.
17 depois, nós, os vivos, os que ficarmos, seremos arrebatados juntamente com eles, entre nuvens, para o encontro do Senhor nos ares, e, assim, estaremos para sempre com o Senhor.

18 Consolai-vos, pois, uns aos outros com estas palavras.
