1 Dar any of you that hath a cause ayens another, be demed at wickid men, and not at hooli men?
1 Se algum de vocês tem queixa contra outro irmão, como ousa apresentar a causa para ser julgada pelos ímpios, em vez de levá-la aos santos?
2 Whether ye witen not, that seyntis schulen deme of this world? And if the world schal be demed bi you, be ye vnworthi to deme of the leste thingis?
2 Vocês não sabem que os santos hão de julgar o mundo? Se vocês hão de julgar o mundo, acaso não são capazes de julgar as causas de menor importância?
3 Witen ye not, that we schulen deme aungels? hou myche more worldli thingis?
3 Vocês não sabem que haveremos de julgar os anjos? Quanto mais as coisas desta vida!
4 Therfor if ye han worldli domes, ordeyne ye tho contemptible men, that ben in the chirche, to deme.
4 Portanto, se vocês têm questões relativas às coisas desta vida, designem para juízes os que são da igreja, mesmo que sejam os menos importantes.
5 Y seie to make you aschamed. So ther is not ony wise man, that may deme bitwixe a brothir and his brothir;
5 Digo isso para envergonhá-los. Acaso não há entre vocês alguém suficientemente sábio para julgar uma causa entre irmãos?
6 but a brothir with brothir stryueth in dom, and that among vnfeithful men.
6 Mas, ao invés disso, um irmão vai ao tribunal contra outro irmão, e isso diante de descrentes!
7 And now trespas is algatis in you, for ye han domes among you. Whi rather take ye no wrong? whi rather suffre ye not disseit?
7 O fato de haver litígios entre vocês já significa uma completa derrota. Por que não preferem sofrer a injustiça? Por que não preferem sofrer o prejuízo?
8 But and ye doen wrong, and doen fraude, and that to britheren.
8 Em vez disso vocês mesmos causam injustiças e prejuízos, e isso contra irmãos!
9 Whether ye witen not, that wickid men schulen not welde the kyngdom of God? Nyle ye erre; nethir letchours, nether men that seruen mawmetis, nether auouteris,
9 Vocês não sabem que os perversos não herdarão o Reino de Deus? Não se deixem enganar: nem imorais, nem idólatras, nem adúlteros, nem homossexuais passivos ou ativos,
10 nether letchouris ayen kynde, nether thei that doon letcheri with men, nether theues, nether auerouse men, nethir `ful of drunkenesse, nether curseris, nether rauenours, schulen welde the kyngdom of God.
10 nem ladrões, nem avarentos, nem alcoólatras, nem caluniadores, nem trapaceiros herdarão o Reino de Deus.
11 And ye weren sum tyme these thingis; but ye ben waischun, but ye ben halewid, but ye ben iustefied in the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, and in the spirit of oure God.
11 Assim foram alguns de vocês. Mas vocês foram lavados, foram santificados, foram justificados no nome do Senhor Jesus Cristo e no Espírito de nosso Deus.
12 Alle thingis ben leeueful to me, but not alle thingis ben spedeful. Alle thingis ben leeueful to me, but Y schal not be brouyt doun vndur ony mannus power.
12 "Tudo me é permitido", mas nem tudo convém. "Tudo me é permitido", mas eu não deixarei que nada domine.
13 Mete to the wombe, and the wombe to metis; and God schal distruye bothe this and that. And the bodi not to fornycacioun, but to the Lord, and the Lord to the bodi.
13 "Os alimentos foram feitos para o estômago e o estômago para os alimentos", mas Deus destruirá ambos. O corpo, porém, não é para a imoralidade, mas para o Senhor, e o Senhor para o corpo.
14 For God reiside the Lord, and schal reise vs bi his vertu.
14 Por seu poder, Deus ressuscitou o Senhor e também nos ressuscitará.
15 Witen ye not, that youre bodies ben membris of Crist? Schal Y thanne take the membris of Crist, and schal Y make the membris of an hoore? God forbede.
15 Vocês não sabem que os seus corpos são membros de Cristo? Tomarei eu os membros de Cristo e os unirei a uma prostituta? De modo nenhum!
16 Whether ye witen not, that he that cleueth to an hoore, is maad o bodi? For he seith, Ther schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.
16 Vocês não sabem que aquele que se une a uma prostituta é um corpo com ela? Pois, como está escrito: "Os dois serão uma só carne".
17 And he that cleueth to the Lord, is o spirit.
17 Mas aquele que se une ao Senhor é um espírito com ele.
18 Fle ye fornycacioun; al synne what euere synne a man doith, is with out the bodi; but he that doith fornycacioun, synneth ayens his bodi.
18 Fujam da imoralidade sexual. Todos os outros pecados que alguém comete, fora do corpo os comete; mas quem peca sexualmente, peca contra o seu próprio corpo.
19 Whether ye witen not, that youre membris ben the temple of the Hooli Goost, that is in you, whom ye han of God, and ye ben not youre owne?
19 Acaso não sabem que o corpo de vocês é santuário do Espírito Santo que habita em vocês, que lhes foi dado por Deus, e que vocês não são de si mesmos?
20 For ye ben bouyt with greet prijs. Glorifie ye, and bere ye God in youre bodi.
20 Vocês foram comprados por alto preço. Portanto, glorifiquem a Deus com o corpo de vocês.
