1 Poul, clepid apostle of Jhesu Crist, bi the wille of God, and Sostenes, brothir, to the chirche of God that is at Corynthe,
1 Paulo, chamado para ser apóstolo de Cristo Jesus pela vontade de Deus, e o irmão Sóstenes,
2 to hem that ben halewid in Crist Jhesu, and clepid seyntis, with alle that inwardli clepen the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, in ech place of hem and of oure,
2 à igreja de Deus que está em Corinto, aos santificados em Cristo Jesus e chamados para serem santos, juntamente com todos os que, em toda parte, invocam o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, Senhor deles e nosso:
3 grace to you and pees of God, oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.
3 A vocês, graça e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
4 Y do thankyngis to my God eueremore for you, in the grace of God that is youun to you in Crist Jhesu.
4 Sempre dou graças a meu Deus por vocês, por causa da graça que lhes foi dada por ele em Cristo Jesus.
5 For in alle thingis ye ben maad riche in hym, in ech word, and in ech kunnyng,
5 Pois nele vocês foram enriquecidos em tudo, em toda palavra e em todo conhecimento,
6 as the witnessyng of Crist is confermyd in you;
6 porque o testemunho de Cristo foi confirmado entre vocês,
7 so that no thing faile to you in ony grace, that abiden the schewyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist;
7 de modo que não lhes falta nenhum dom espiritual, enquanto vocês aguardam que o nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seja revelado.
8 which also schal conferme you in to the ende with outen cryme, in the dai of the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
8 Ele os manterá firmes até o fim, de modo que vocês serão irrepreensíveis no dia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
9 `A trewe God, bi whom ye ben clepid in to the felouschipe of his sone Jhesu Crist oure Lord.
9 Fiel é Deus, o qual os chamou à comunhão com seu Filho Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.
10 But, britheren, Y biseche you, bi the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist, that ye alle seie the same thing, and that dissenciouns be not among you; but be ye perfit in the same wit, and in the same kunnyng.
10 Irmãos, em nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo suplico a todos vocês que concordem uns com os outros no que falam, para que não haja divisões entre vocês, e, sim, que todos estejam unidos num só pensamento e num só parecer.
11 For, my britheren, it is teld to me of hem that ben at Cloes, that stryues ben among you.
11 Meus irmãos, fui informado por alguns da casa de Cloe de que há divisões entre vocês.
12 And Y seie that, that ech of you seith, For Y am of Poul, and Y am of Apollo, and Y am of Cefas, but Y am of Crist.
12 Com isso quero dizer que cada um de vocês afirma: "Eu sou de Paulo"; "eu de Apolo"; "eu de Pedro"; e "eu de Cristo".
13 Whether Crist is departid? whether Poul was crucified for you, ether ye ben baptisid in the name of Poul?
13 Acaso Cristo está dividido? Foi Paulo crucificado em favor de vocês? Foram vocês batizados em nome de Paulo?
14 Y do thankyngis to my God, that Y baptiside noon of you, but Crispus and Gayus;
14 Dou graças a Deus por não ter batizado nenhum de vocês, exceto Crispo e Gaio;
15 lest ony man seie, that ye ben baptisid in my name.
15 de modo que ninguém pode dizer que foi batizado em meu nome.
16 And Y baptiside also the hous of Stephan, but Y woot not, that Y baptiside ony other.
16 ( Batizei também os da casa de Estéfanas; além destes, não me lembro se batizei alguém mais. )
17 For Crist sente me not to baptise, but to preche the gospel; not in wisdom of word, that the cros of Crist be not voidid awei.
17 Pois Cristo não me enviou para batizar, mas para pregar o evangelho, não com palavras de sabedoria humana, para que a cruz de Cristo não seja esvaziada. Cristo, Sabedoria e Poder de Deus
18 For the word of the cros is foli to hem that perischen; but to hem that ben maad saaf, that is to seie, to vs, it is the vertu of God.
18 Pois a mensagem da cruz é loucura para os que estão perecendo, mas para nós, que estamos sendo salvos, é o poder de Deus.
19 For it is writun, Y schal distruye the wisdom of wise men, and Y schal reproue the prudence of prudent men.
19 Pois está escrito: "Destruirei a sabedoria dos sábios e rejeitarei a inteligência dos inteligentes".
20 Where is the wise man? where is the wise lawiere? where is the purchasour of this world? Whether God hath not maad the wisdom of this world fonned?
20 Onde está o sábio? Onde está o erudito? Onde está o questionador desta era? Acaso não tornou Deus louca a sabedoria deste mundo?
21 For the world in wisdom of God knewe not God bi wisdom, it pleside to God, bi foli of prechyng, `to maken hem saaf that bileueden.
21 Visto que, na sabedoria de Deus, o mundo não o conheceu por meio da sabedoria humana, agradou a Deus salvar aqueles que crêem por meio da loucura da pregação.
22 For Jewis seken signes, and Grekis seken wisdom;
22 Os judeus pedem sinais miraculosos, e os gregos procuram sabedoria;
23 but we prechen Crist crucified, to Jewis sclaundre, and to hethene men foli;
23 nós, porém, pregamos a Cristo crucificado, o qual, de fato, é escândalo para os judeus e loucura para os gentios
24 but to tho Jewis and Grekis that ben clepid, we prechen Crist the vertu of God and the wisdom of God.
24 mas para os que foram chamados, tanto judeus como gregos, Cristo é o poder de Deus e a sabedoria de Deus.
25 For that that is foli thing of God, is wiser than men; and that that is the feble thing of God, is strengere than men.
25 Porque a loucura de Deus é mais sábia que a sabedoria humana, e a fraqueza de Deus é mais forte que a força do homem.
26 But, britheren, se ye youre clepyng; for not many wise men aftir the fleisch, not many myyti, not many noble.
26 Irmãos, pensem no que vocês eram quando foram chamados. Poucos eram sábios segundo os padrões humanos; poucos eram poderosos; poucos eram de nobre nascimento.
27 But God chees tho thingis that ben fonned of the world, to confounde wise men;
27 Mas Deus escolheu as coisas loucas do mundo para envergonhar os sábios, e escolheu as coisas fracas do mundo para envergonhar as fortes.
28 and God chees the feble thingis of the world, to confounde the stronge thingis; and God chees the vnnoble thingis `and dispisable thingis of the world, and tho thingis that ben not, to distruye tho thingis that ben;
28 Ele escolheu as coisas insignificantes do mundo, as desprezadas e as que nada são, para reduzir a nada as que são,
29 that ech man haue not glorie in his siyt.
29 para que ninguém se vanglorie diante dele.
30 But of hym ye ben in Crist Jhesu, which is maad of God to vs wisdom, and riytwisnesse, and holynesse, and ayenbiyng; that,
30 É, porém, por iniciativa dele que vocês estão em Cristo Jesus, o qual se tornou sabedoria de Deus para nós, isto é, justiça, santidade e redenção,
31 as it is wrytun, He that glorieth, haue glorie in the Lord.
31 para que, como está escrito: "Quem se gloriar, glorie-se no Senhor".
