1 Therefore, my brethren, dearly loved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my dearly-loved ones.
1 Portanto, meus amados e mui queridos irmãos, minha alegria e coroa, estai assim firmes no Senhor, amados.
2 I entreat Euodia, and I entreat Syntyche, to be of one mind, as sisters in Christ.
2 Rogo a Evódia, e rogo a Síntique, que sintam o mesmo no Senhor.
3 Yes, and I beg you also, my faithful yoke-fellow, to help these women who have shared my toil in connection with the Good News, together with Clement and the rest of my fellow labourers, whose names are recorded in the Book of Life.
3 E peço-te também a ti, meu verdadeiro companheiro, que ajudes essas mulheres que trabalharam comigo no evangelho, e com Clemente, e com os meus outros cooperadores, cujos nomes estão no livro da vida.
4 Always be glad in the Lord: I will repeat it, be glad.
4 Regozijai-vos sempre no Senhor; outra vez digo, regozijai-vos.
5 Let your forbearing spirit be known to every one–the Lord is near.
5 Seja a vossa eqüidade notória a todos os homens. Perto está o Senhor.
6 Do not be over-anxious about anything, but by prayer and earnest pleading, together with thanksgiving, let your request be unreservedly made known in the presence of God.
6 Não estejais inquietos por coisa alguma; antes as vossas petições sejam em tudo conhecidas diante de Deus pela oração e súplica, com ação de graças.
7 And then the peace of God, which transcends all our powers of thought, will be a garrison to guard your hearts and minds in union with Christ Jesus.
7 E a paz de Deus, que excede todo o entendimento, guardará os vossos corações e os vossos pensamentos em Cristo Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever wins respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovable, whatever is of good repute –if there is any virtue or anything deemed worthy of praise– cherish the thought of these things.
8 Quanto ao mais, irmãos, tudo o que é verdadeiro, tudo o que é honesto, tudo o que é justo, tudo o que é puro, tudo o que é amável, tudo o que é de boa fama, se há alguma virtude, e se há algum louvor, nisso pensai.
9 The doctrines and the line of conduct which I taught you –both what you heard and what you saw in me– hold fast to them; and God who gives peace will be with you.
9 O que também aprendestes, e recebestes, e ouvistes, e vistes em mim, isso fazei; e o Deus de paz será convosco.
10 But I rejoice with a deep and holy joy that now at length you have revived your thoughtfulness for my welfare. Indeed you have always been thoughtful for me, although opportunity failed you.
10 Ora, muito me regozijei no Senhor por finalmente reviver a vossa lembrança de mim; pois já vos tínheis lembrado, mas não tínheis tido oportunidade.
11 I do not refer to this through fear of privation, for (for my part) I have learned, whatever be my outward experiences, to be content.
11 Não digo isto como por necessidade, porque já aprendi a contentar-me com o que tenho.
12 I know both how to live in humble circumstances and how to live amid abundance. I am fully initiated into all the mysteries both of fulness and of hunger, of abundance and of want.
12 Sei estar abatido, e sei também ter abundância; em toda a maneira, e em todas as coisas estou instruído, tanto a ter fartura, como a ter fome; tanto a ter abundância, como a padecer necessidade.
13 I have strength for anything through Him who gives me power.
13 Posso todas as coisas em Cristo que me fortalece.
14 Yet I thank you for taking your share in my troubles.
14 Todavia fizestes bem em tomar parte na minha aflição.
15 And you men and women of Philippi also know that at the first preaching of the Good News, when I had left Macedonia, no other Church except yourselves held communication with me about giving and receiving;
15 E bem sabeis também, ó filipenses, que, no princípio do evangelho, quando parti da macedônia, nenhuma igreja comunicou comigo com respeito a dar e a receber, senão vós somente;
16 because even in Thessalonica you sent several times to minister to my needs.
16 Porque também uma e outra vez me mandastes o necessário a tessalônica.
17 Not that I crave for gifts from you, but I do want to see abundant fruit bring you honour.
17 Não que procure dádivas, mas procuro o fruto que cresça para a vossa conta.
18 I have enough of everything –and more than enough. My wants are fully satisfied now that I have received from the hands of Epaphroditus the generous gifts which you sent me– they are a fragrant odor, an acceptable sacrifice, truly pleasing to God.
18 Mas bastante tenho recebido, e tenho abundância. Cheio estou, depois que recebi de Epafrodito o que da vossa parte me foi enviado, como cheiro de suavidade e sacrifício agradável e aprazível a Deus.
19 But my God –so great is His wealth of glory in Christ Jesus– will fully supply every need of yours.
19 O meu Deus, segundo as suas riquezas, suprirá todas as vossas necessidades em glória, por Cristo Jesus.
20 And to our God and Father be the glory throughout the Ages of the Ages! Amen.
20 Ora, a nosso Deus e Pai seja dada glória para todo o sempre. Amém.
21 My Christian greetings to every one of God's people. The brethren who are with me send their greetings.
21 Saudai a todos os santos em Cristo Jesus. Os irmãos que estão comigo vos saúdam.
22 All God's people here greet you–especially the members of Caesar's household.
22 Todos os santos vos saúdam, mas principalmente os que são da casa de César.
23 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirits.
23 A graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seja com vós todos. Amém.
