1 Masters, deal justly and equitably with your slaves, knowing that you too have a Master in Heaven.
1 Senhores, a vossos servos fazei o que for de justiça e equidade, sabendo que também tendes um Senhor no céu.
2 Be earnest and unwearied in prayer, being on the alert in it and in your giving of thanks.
2 Perseverai em oração, velando nela com ação de graças;
3 And pray at the same time for us also, that God may open for us a door for preaching, for us to tell the truth concerning Christ for the sake of which I am even a prisoner.
3 orando também juntamente por nós, para que Deus nos abra a porta da palavra, a fim de falarmos do mistério de Cristo, pelo qual estou também preso;
4 Then I shall proclaim it fully, as it is my duty to do.
4 que eu possa manifestar isso, como eu devo falar.
5 Behave wisely in relation to the outside world, buying up your opportunities.
5 Andai com sabedoria para com os que estão de fora, remindo o tempo.
6 Let your language be always seasoned with the salt of grace, so that you may know how to give every man a fitting answer.
6 A vossa palavra seja sempre com graça, temperada com sal, para que saibais como vos convém responder a cada homem.
7 Tychicus, our much-loved brother, a trusty assistant and fellow servant with us in the Lord's work, will give you every information about me.
7 Todo o meu estado, Tíquico vos fará saber; irmão amado, e fiel ministro, e conservo no Senhor;
8 And for this very purpose I send him to you that you may know how we are faring; and that he may cheer your hearts.
8 o qual vos enviei para o mesmo propósito, para que saiba do vosso estado e console os vossos corações.
9 And with him I send our dear and trusty brother Onesimus, who is one of yourselves. They will inform you of everything here.
9 Juntamente com Onésimo, amado e fiel irmão, que é um de vós; eles vos farão saber todas as coisas que por aqui se passam.
10 Aristarchus my fellow prisoner sends greeting to you, and so does Barnabas's cousin Mark. You have received instructions as to him; if he comes to you, give him a welcome.
10 Aristarco, que está preso comigo, vos saúda, e Marcos, o sobrinho de Barnabé (acerca do qual já recebestes mandamentos; se ele for ter convosco, recebei-o);
11 Jesus, called Justus, also sends greeting. These three are Hebrew converts. They alone among such have worked loyally with me for the Kingdom of God–they are men who have been a comfort to me.
11 e Jesus, chamado Justo, os quais são da circuncisão; são estes unicamente os meus cooperadores no reino de Deus e para mim têm sido consolação.
12 Epaphras, who is one of yourselves, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, sends greetings to you, always wrestling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand firm–Christians of ripe character and of clear conviction as to everything which is God's will.
12 Epafras, que é um de vós, servo de Cristo, vos saúda, sempre trabalhando ardentemente por vós em orações, para que vos conserveis firmes, perfeitos e completos em toda a vontade de Deus.
13 For I can bear witness to the deep interest he takes in you and in the brethren at Laodicea and in those at Hierapolis.
13 Porquanto, eu dou testemunho de que ele tem grande zelo por vós, e pelos que estão em Laodiceia, e pelos que estão em Hierápolis.
14 Luke, the dearly-loved physician, salutes you, and so does Demas.
14 Lucas, o médico amado, e Demas, saúdam-vos.
15 Christian greetings to the brethren at Laodicea, especially to Nymphas, and to the Church that meets at their house.
15 Saudai aos irmãos que estão em Laodiceia, e a Ninfa, e à igreja que está em sua casa.
16 And when this Letter has been read among you, let it be read also in the Church of the Laodiceans, and you in turn must read the one I am sending to Laodicea.
16 E, quando esta carta tiver sido lida entre vós, que seja lida também na igreja de Laodiceia; e também leia a carta de Laodiceia.
17 And tell Archippus to discharge carefully the duties devolving upon him as a servant of the Lord.
17 E dizei a Arquipo: Atenta para o ministério que recebeste no Senhor, para que o cumpras.
18 I Paul add with my own hand this final greeting. Be mindful of me in my imprisonment. Grace be with you.
18 Saudação de minha mão, de Paulo. Lembrai-vos das minhas prisões. A graça seja convosco. Amém.
