1 Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the LORD’s house at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel.
1 Depois disto, Ezequias enviou mensageiros por todo o Israel e Judá; escreveu também cartas a Efraim e a Manassés para que viessem à Casa do Senhor , em Jerusalém, para celebrarem a Páscoa ao Senhor , Deus de Israel.
2 For the king had taken counsel with his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem to keep the Passover in the second month.
2 Porque o rei tivera conselho com os seus príncipes e com toda a congregação em Jerusalém, para celebrarem a Páscoa no segundo mês
3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, and the people had not gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
3 (Porquanto não a puderam celebrar no devido tempo, porque não se tinham santificado sacerdotes em número suficiente, e o povo não se ajuntara ainda em Jerusalém.).
4 The thing was right in the eyes of the king and of all the assembly.
4 Foi isto aprovado pelo rei e toda a congregação;
5 So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem, for they had not kept it in great numbers in the way it is written.
5 e resolveram que se fizesse pregão por todo o Israel, desde Berseba até Dã, para que viessem a celebrar a Páscoa ao Senhor , Deus de Israel, em Jerusalém; porque não a celebravam já com grande número de assistentes, como prescrito.
6 So the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, according to the commandment of the king, saying, "You children of Israel, turn again to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may return to the remnant of you that have escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
6 Partiram os correios com as cartas do rei e dos seus príncipes, por todo o Israel e Judá, segundo o mandado do rei, dizendo: Filhos de Israel, voltai-vos ao Senhor , Deus de Abraão, de Isaque e de Israel, para que ele se volte para o restante que escapou do poder dos reis da Assíria.
7 Don’t be like your fathers and like your brothers, who trespassed against the LORD, the God of their fathers, so that he gave them up to desolation, as you see.
7 Não sejais como vossos pais e como vossos irmãos, que prevaricaram contra o Senhor , Deus de seus pais, pelo que os entregou à desolação, como estais vendo.
8 Now don’t be stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve the LORD your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.
8 Não endureçais, agora, a vossa cerviz, como vossos pais; confiai-vos ao Senhor , e vinde ao seu santuário que ele santificou para sempre, e servi ao Senhor , vosso Deus, para que o ardor da sua ira se desvie de vós.
9 For if you turn again to the LORD, your brothers and your children will find compassion with those who led them captive, and will come again into this land, because the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you if you return to him."
9 Porque, se vós vos converterdes ao Senhor , vossos irmãos e vossos filhos acharão misericórdia perante os que os levaram cativos e tornarão a esta terra; porque o Senhor , vosso Deus, é misericordioso e compassivo e não desviará de vós o rosto, se vos converterdes a ele.
10 So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, even to Zebulun, but people ridiculed them and mocked them.
10 Os correios foram passando de cidade em cidade, pela terra de Efraim e Manassés até Zebulom; porém riram-se e zombaram deles.
11 Nevertheless some men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.
11 Todavia, alguns de Aser, de Manassés e de Zebulom se humilharam e foram a Jerusalém.
12 Also the hand of God came on Judah to give them one heart, to do the commandment of the king and of the princes by the LORD’s word.
12 Também em Judá se fez sentir a mão de Deus, dando-lhes um só coração, para cumprirem o mandado do rei e dos príncipes, segundo a palavra do Senhor .
13 Many people assembled at Jerusalem to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great assembly.
13 Ajuntou-se em Jerusalém muito povo, para celebrar a Festa dos Pães Asmos, no segundo mês, mui grande congregação.
14 They arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and they took away all the altars for incense and threw them into the brook Kidron.
14 Dispuseram-se e tiraram os altares que havia em Jerusalém; também tiraram todos os altares do incenso e os lançaram no vale de Cedrom.
15 Then they killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought burnt offerings into the LORD’s house.
15 Então, imolaram o cordeiro da Páscoa no décimo quarto dia do segundo mês; os sacerdotes e os levitas se envergonharam, e se santificaram, e trouxeram holocaustos à Casa do Senhor .
16 They stood in their place after their order, according to the law of Moses the man of God. The priests sprinkled the blood which they received of the hand of the Levites.
16 Tomaram os seus devidos lugares, segundo a Lei de Moisés, o homem de Deus; e os sacerdotes aspergiam o sangue, tomando-o das mãos dos levitas.
17 For there were many in the assembly who had not sanctified themselves; therefore the Levites were in charge of killing the Passovers for everyone who was not clean, to sanctify them to the LORD.
17 Porque havia muitos na congregação que não se tinham santificado; pelo que os levitas estavam encarregados de imolar os cordeiros da Páscoa por todo aquele que não estava limpo, para o santificarem ao Senhor .
18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover other than the way it is written. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, "May the good the LORD pardon everyone
18 Porque uma multidão do povo, muitos de Efraim, de Manassés, de Issacar e de Zebulom não se tinham purificado e, contudo, comeram a Páscoa, não como está escrito; porém Ezequias orou por eles, dizendo: O Senhor , que é bom, perdoe a todo aquele
19 who sets his heart to seek God, the LORD, the God of his fathers, even if they aren’t clean according to the purification of the sanctuary."
19 que dispôs o coração para buscar o Senhor Deus, o Deus de seus pais, ainda que não segundo a purificação exigida pelo santuário.
20 The LORD listened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
20 Ouviu o Senhor a Ezequias e sarou a alma do povo.
21 The children of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness. The Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments to the LORD.
21 Os filhos de Israel que se acharam em Jerusalém celebraram a Festa dos Pães Asmos por sete dias, com grande júbilo; e os levitas e os sacerdotes louvaram ao Senhor de dia em dia, com instrumentos que tocaram fortemente em honra ao Senhor .
22 Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who had good understanding in the service of the LORD. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings and making confession to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
22 Ezequias falou ao coração de todos os levitas que revelavam bom entendimento no serviço do Senhor ; e comeram, por sete dias, as ofertas da festa, trouxeram ofertas pacíficas e renderam graças ao Senhor , Deus de seus pais.
23 The whole assembly took counsel to keep another seven days, and they kept another seven days with gladness.
23 Concordou toda a congregação em celebrar outros sete dias, e, de fato, o fizeram com júbilo;
24 For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep; and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
24 pois Ezequias, rei de Judá, apresentou à congregação mil novilhos e sete mil ovelhas para sacrifício; e os príncipes apresentaram à congregação mil novilhos e dez mil ovelhas; e os sacerdotes se santificaram em grande número.
25 All the assembly of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the assembly who came out of Israel, and the foreigners who came out of the land of Israel and who lived in Judah, rejoiced.
25 Alegraram-se toda a congregação de Judá, os sacerdotes, os levitas e toda a congregação de todos os que vieram de Israel, como também os estrangeiros que vieram da terra de Israel e os que habitavam em Judá.
26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem; for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was nothing like this in Jerusalem.
26 Houve grande alegria em Jerusalém; porque desde os dias de Salomão, filho de Davi, rei de Israel, não houve coisa semelhante em Jerusalém.
27 Then the Levitical priests arose and blessed the people. Their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, even to heaven.
27 Então, os sacerdotes e os levitas se levantaram para abençoar o povo; a sua voz foi ouvida, e a sua oração chegou até à santa habitação de Deus, até aos céus.
