1 A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
1 Ouve minha oração, S enhor ; escuta minha súplica! Responde-me, pois és fiel e justo.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
2 Não leves teu servo a julgamento, pois diante de ti ninguém é inocente.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
3 Meu inimigo me perseguiu; derrubou-me no chão e obrigou-me a morar em trevas, como as do túmulo.
4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
4 Vou perdendo todo o ânimo; estou tomado de medo.
5 I remember the days of old, I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
5 Lembro-me de tempos passados; reflito em todas as tuas obras e penso em tudo que fizeste.
6 I stretch forth my hands to thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
6 Levanto minhas mãos a ti em oração; anseio por ti, como a terra seca tem sede de chuva. Interlúdio
7 Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like them that go down into the pit.
7 Vem depressa, S enhor , e responde-me, pois meu ânimo se esvai. Não te afastes de mim, ou morrerei.
8 Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way in which I should walk; for I lift up my soul to thee.
8 Faze-me ouvir do teu amor a cada manhã, pois confio em ti. Mostra-me por onde devo andar, pois me entrego a ti.
9 Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies: I flee to thee to hide me.
9 Livra-me de meus inimigos, S enhor , pois me refugio em ti.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
10 Ensina-me a fazer tua vontade, pois tu és meu Deus. Que o teu Espírito bondoso me conduza adiante por um caminho reto e seguro.
11 Revive me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
11 Pela honra do teu nome, S enhor , preserva minha vida. Por tua justiça, tira-me deste sofrimento.
12 And of thy mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
12 Por teu amor, acaba com meus inimigos e destrói meus adversários, pois sou teu servo.
