1 Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe to Nebo! for it is laid waste: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.
1 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso, o Deus de Israel, disse o seguinte a respeito de Moabe: “Tenham pena do povo da cidade de Nebo porque ela está destruída! Quiriataim foi tomada, a sua fortaleza poderosa foi arrasada, e o seu povo ficou humilhado.
2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
2 Acabou-se a glória de Moabe. Em Hesbom, o inimigo faz os seus planos: ‘Vamos acabar com a nação de Moabe!’ Exércitos marcharão contra a cidade de Madmém, e nela só restará o silêncio.
3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, devastation and great destruction.
3 O povo de Horonaim grita: ‘Tudo está arrasado! Tudo está destruído!’
4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
4 “O país de Moabe ficou em ruínas; as crianças estão chorando.
5 For in the ascent of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the descent of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.
5 Escutem os seus soluços no caminho que sobe para Luíte, ouçam os seus gritos de aflição na estrada que desce para Horonaim.
6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.
6 Ouve-se gente gritando: ‘Depressa! Fujam para salvar a vida! Corram como um jumento selvagem no deserto!’
7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.
7 “Moabe, você confiou na sua força e na sua riqueza, mas agora você mesmo será dominado. O seu deus Quemos será levado para fora do país, junto com os seus príncipes e os seus sacerdotes.
8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.
8 Nenhuma cidade escapará da destruição; tanto o vale como o planalto ficarão arrasados. Sou eu, o
9 Give wings to Moab, that it may flee and get away: for its cities shall be desolate, without any to dwell in them.
9 Preparem uma pedra para o túmulo de Moabe, pois logo esse país será destruído; as suas cidades ficarão em ruínas, e ninguém mais vai morar lá.”
10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
10 Maldito aquele que é relaxado no serviço de Deus! Maldito aquele que guarda a sua espada para não matar!
11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
11 O Senhor Deus disse: — O povo de Moabe sempre viveu em segurança e nunca foi levado como prisioneiro para fora do seu país. Moabe é como o vinho guardado, que nunca foi agitado, nem derramado de uma vasilha para outra. O seu gosto nunca se estragou, e o seu sabor não mudou.
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send to him wanderers that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
12 — E assim está chegando o dia em que vou mandar pessoas para derramarem Moabe como se fosse vinho. Essas pessoas despejarão as vasilhas de Moabe e as quebrarão.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.
13 Então os moabitas ficarão desiludidos com o seu deus Quemos, assim como os israelitas ficaram desiludidos com Betel, um deus em que eles confiavam.
14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?
14 Homens de Moabe, como é que vocês dizem que são heróis, que são soldados corajosos na guerra?
15 Moab is laid waste, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the king, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
15 Moabe e as suas cidades serão destruídos, e os seus melhores moços serão mortos. Sou eu, o Rei, quem está falando. O meu nome é
16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
16 A desgraça dessa nação está chegando; a sua destruição virá logo.
17 All ye that are about him bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
17 Tenham pena de Moabe, vocês que moram perto, todos vocês que conhecem a sua fama. Digam: “O seu grande poder se acabou; a sua
18 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.
18 Vocês que moram em Dibom, desçam do seu lugar de honra e sentem no chão, no pó. O destruidor de Moabe está aqui; ele arrasará as suas fortalezas.
19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.
20 Eles vão responder: “O país de Moabe caiu. Chorem por ele, pois está destruído. Anunciem pelas margens do rio Arnom que Moabe foi arrasado!”
21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim,
22 Dibom, Nebo, Bete-Diblataim,
23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,
23 Quiriataim, Bete-Gamul, Bete-Meão,
24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.

26 Make ye him drunken; for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
26 E o Senhor continuou: — Façam com que Moabe fique bêbado, pois se revoltou contra mim, o
27 For was not Israel a derision to thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou hast spoken of him, thou hast leaped for joy.
27 Moabe, você lembra de como zombou do povo de Israel? Você tratou esse povo como se tivesse sido preso junto com uma quadrilha de ladrões.
28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.
28 — Vocês que vivem em Moabe, abandonem as suas cidades e vão viver no meio das rochas. Façam como as pombas que constroem os seus ninhos na beira dos precipícios.
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogance, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
29 Temos ouvido falar do orgulho de Moabe. Esse povo é orgulhoso, soberbo, vaidoso e cheio de si.
30 I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.
30 Eu, o Senhor , conheço o seu orgulho. Os moabitas se gabam de coisas que não valem nada, coisas que acabam.
31 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; my heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.
31 Por isso, eu chorarei por todo o povo de Moabe e pelo povo de Quir-Heres.
32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants have gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler hath fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
32 Chorarei mais pelo povo de Sibma do que pelo povo de Jazer. Cidade de Sibma, você é como uma parreira ; os seus ramos passam por cima do mar Morto e vão até a cidade de Jazer. Mas agora os inimigos acabaram com as suas plantações de cereais e de uvas.
33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the wine-presses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.
33 A felicidade e a alegria desapareceram das boas terras de Moabe. Não se faz mais vinho; não há ninguém para fazer vinho e gritar de alegria.
34 From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, and even to Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, as a heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.
34 — O povo das cidades de Hesbom e Eleal grita, e o seu grito pode ser ouvido até em Jasa. Pode ser ouvido pelos moradores de Zoar e até em Horonaim e Nova Eglate. O próprio riacho Ninrim secou.
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
35 Eu farei com que o povo de Moabe pare de apresentar ofertas queimadas no alto dos montes e de oferecer sacrifícios aos seus deuses. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
36 Therefore my heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and my heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten have perished.
36 — Por isso, o meu coração chora por Moabe e pelo povo de Quir-Heres, como alguém que toca música fúnebre numa flauta; pois tudo o que tinham acabou.
37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
37 Em sinal de tristeza, todos eles raparam a cabeça e cortaram a barba. Todos fizeram cortes nas mãos e vestiram roupa feita de pano grosseiro.
38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the house-tops of Moab, and in its streets: for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
38 Nos terraços de todas as casas e em todas as praças só há choro porque eu quebrei Moabe como um jarro que ninguém quer.
39 They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.
39 Moabe está arrasado! Gritem! A desgraça caiu sobre Moabe. O país está em ruínas, e todas as nações vizinhas caçoam dele. Eu, o Senhor , estou falando.
40 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.
40 — Eu, o Senhor , prometi que uma nação atacará Moabe e cairá em cima dele como uma águia com as asas abertas.
41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
41 As suas cidades e fortalezas serão tomadas. Naquele dia, os soldados de Moabe terão tanto medo como a mulher que está com dores de parto.
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.
42 Moabe vai ser destruído e não será mais uma nação, pois se revoltou contra mim.
43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.
43 Medo, covas e armadilhas esperam pelos moradores de Moabe. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
44 He that fleeth from the fear, shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth out of the pit, shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
44 Os que fugirem de medo cairão nas covas, e os que conseguirem sair das covas ficarão presos nas armadilhas, pois eu marquei o dia da destruição de Moabe.
45 They that fled stood under the shade of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
45 Outros fogem cansados e procuram proteção na cidade de Hesbom. Mas Hesbom, a cidade que já foi governada pelo rei Seom, está em chamas. O fogo queimou as fronteiras e os picos das montanhas de Moabe, que ama tanto a guerra.
46 Woe be to thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.
46 Coitado do povo de Moabe! O povo que adorava o deus Quemos foi destruído, e os seus filhos e filhas foram levados como prisioneiros.
47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
