1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose.
1 O deserto e a terra se alegrarão; o ermo exultará e florescerá como o narciso.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice, even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellence of our God.
2 Florescerá abundantemente, jubilará de alegria e exultará; deu-se-lhes a glória do Líbano, o esplendor do Carmelo e de Sarom; eles verão a glória do Senhor , o esplendor do nosso Deus.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
3 Fortalecei as mãos frouxas e firmai os joelhos vacilantes.
4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.
4 Dizei aos desalentados de coração: Sede fortes, não temais. Eis o vosso Deus. A vingança vem, a retribuição de Deus; ele vem e vos salvará.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
5 Então, se abrirão os olhos dos cegos, e se desimpedirão os ouvidos dos surdos;
6 Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
6 os coxos saltarão como cervos, e a língua dos mudos cantará; pois águas arrebentarão no deserto, e ribeiros, no ermo.
7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
7 A areia esbraseada se transformará em lagos, e a terra sedenta, em mananciais de águas; onde outrora viviam os chacais, crescerá a erva com canas e juncos.
8 And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the way-faring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
8 E ali haverá bom caminho, caminho que se chamará o Caminho Santo; o imundo não passará por ele, pois será somente para o seu povo; quem quer que por ele caminhe não errará, nem mesmo o louco.
9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
9 Ali não haverá leão, animal feroz não passará por ele, nem se achará nele; mas os remidos andarão por ele.
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
10 Os resgatados do Senhor voltarão e virão a Sião com cânticos de júbilo; alegria eterna coroará a sua cabeça; gozo e alegria alcançarão, e deles fugirá a tristeza e o gemido.
