1 And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
1 E aconteceu, depois destas coisas, que o mordomo do rei do Egito e seu padeiro haviam ofendido seu senhor e rei do Egito.
2 And Pharaoh was wroth with two of his officers, with the chief of the butlers, and with the chief of the bakers.
2 E Faraó estava irado contra dois de seus oficiais, contra o chefe dos mordomos, e contra o chefe dos padeiros.
3 And he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
3 E ele colocou-os em custódia, na casa do capitão da guarda, na prisão, o lugar em que José estava preso.
4 And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them; and they continued a season in custody.
4 E o capitão da guarda encarregou José deles, e ele os serviu, e eles estiveram um período na prisão.
5 And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream; the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were bound in the prison.
5 E ambos sonharam um sonho, cada homem seu sonho em uma noite, cada homem de acordo com a interpretação do seu sonho, o mordomo e o padeiro do rei do Egito, que estavam presos na prisão.
6 And Joseph came to them in the morning, and looked upon them, and behold, they were sad.
6 E José veio a eles de manhã, e olhou para eles, e eis que eles estavam tristes.
7 And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Why look ye so sad to-day?
7 E ele perguntou aos oficiais de Faraó, que estavam com ele na prisão, da casa de seu senhor, dizendo: Por que aparentais tão tristes hoje?
8 And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said to them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
8 E lhes disseram: Sonhamos um sonho, e não há quem o interprete. E José lhes disse: Não pertencem as interpretações a Deus? Diga-me eles, rogo-vos.
9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
9 E o chefe dos mordomos contou seu sonho a José, e lhe disse: No meu sonho, eis que uma videira estava diante de mim,
10 And on the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and its blossoms shot forth; and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes:
10 e na videira estavam três ramos; e era como se estivesse brotando, e sua flor saía, e os seus cachos produziram uvas maduras.
11 And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
11 E o copo de Faraó estava na minha mão, e eu apanhei as uvas, e as espremi dentro do copo de Faraó, e dei o copo na mão de Faraó.
12 And Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days;
12 E José lhes disse: Esta é a sua interpretação: Os três ramos são três dias.
13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head, and restore thee to thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
13 Mas em três dias Faraó levantará a tua cabeça, e te restabelecerá ao teu lugar, e tu servirás o copo de Faraó nas mãos dele, conforme a maneira antiga quando tu eras seu mordomo.
14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and show kindness to me, I pray thee, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
14 Mas lembra-te de mim quando estiver bem contigo, e mostra bondade, rogo-te, para comigo, e faze menção de mim a Faraó, e tira-me desta casa,
15 For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
15 pois na verdade eu fui roubado da terra dos hebreus, e aqui também não fiz nada para que eles me pusessem na masmorra.
16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, I also was in my dream, and behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
16 Quando o chefe dos padeiros viu que a interpretação era boa, ele disse a José: Eu também estava no meu sonho, e eis que eu tinha três cestos brancos sobre minha cabeça,
17 And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bake-meats for Pharaoh; and the birds ate them out of the basket upon my head.
17 e no cesto mais alto havia todo tipo de pão para Faraó; e as aves os comiam do cesto sobre a minha cabeça.
18 And Joseph answered, and said, This is the interpretation of it: The three baskets are three days:
18 E José respondeu e disse: Esta é a sua interpretação: Os três cestos são três dias.
19 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
19 Mas em três dias Faraó levantará tua cabeça de sobre ti, e te pendurará em uma árvore, e as aves comerão a tua carne de sobre ti.
20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birth-day, that he made a feast to all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
20 E aconteceu que, no terceiro dia, era o aniversário de Faraó, e ele fez uma festa para todos os seus servos; e ele levantou a cabeça do chefe dos mordomos e do chefe dos padeiros entre seus servos.
21 And he restored the chief butler to his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
21 E ele restabeleceu o chefe dos mordomos a seu ofício de mordomo novamente; e ele serviu o copo na mão de Faraó.
22 But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
22 Mas ele enforcou o chefe dos padeiros, como José havia lhes interpretado.
23 Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.
23 Mas o chefe dos mordomos não se lembrou de José, porém o esqueceu.
