1 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away his punishment: because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:
1 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Moabe e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque queimou os ossos do rei de Edom, até os reduzir a cal.
2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:
2 Por isso, meterei fogo a Moabe, fogo que consumirá os castelos de Queriote; Moabe morrerá entre grande estrondo, alarido e som de trombeta.
3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst of it, and will slay all its princes with him, saith the LORD.
3 Eliminarei o juiz do meio dele e a todos os seus príncipes com ele matarei, diz o Senhor .
4 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away their punishment: because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after which their fathers have walked:
4 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Judá e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque rejeitaram a lei do Senhor e não guardaram os seus estatutos; antes, as suas próprias mentiras os enganaram, e após elas andaram seus pais.
5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
5 Por isso, meterei fogo a Judá, fogo que consumirá os castelos de Jerusalém.
6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away their punishment: because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;
6 Assim diz o Senhor : Por três transgressões de Israel e por quatro, não sustarei o castigo, porque os juízes vendem o justo por dinheiro e condenam o necessitado por causa de um par de sandálias.
7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in to the same maid, to profane my holy name:
7 Suspiram pelo pó da terra sobre a cabeça dos pobres e pervertem o caminho dos mansos; um homem e seu pai coabitam com a mesma jovem e, assim, profanam o meu santo nome.
8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.
8 E se deitam ao pé de qualquer altar sobre roupas empenhadas e, na casa do seu deus, bebem o vinho dos que foram multados.
9 Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose hight was like the hight of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
9 Todavia, eu destruí diante deles o amorreu, cuja altura era como a dos cedros, e que era forte como os carvalhos; e destruí o seu fruto por cima e as suas raízes por baixo.
10 Also I brought you from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
10 Também vos fiz subir da terra do Egito e quarenta anos vos conduzi no deserto, para que possuísseis a terra do amorreu.
11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.
11 Dentre os vossos filhos, suscitei profetas e, dentre os vossos jovens, nazireus. Não é isto assim, filhos de Israel? — diz o Senhor .
12 But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.
12 Mas vós aos nazireus destes a beber vinho e aos profetas ordenastes, dizendo: Não profetizeis.
13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.
13 Eis que farei oscilar a terra debaixo de vós, como oscila um carro carregado de feixes.
14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:
14 De nada valerá a fuga ao ágil, o forte não usará a sua força, nem o valente salvará a sua vida.
15 Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.
15 O que maneja o arco não resistirá, nem o ligeiro de pés se livrará, nem tampouco o que vai montado a cavalo salvará a sua vida.
16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
16 E o mais corajoso entre os valentes fugirá nu naquele dia, disse o Senhor .
