1 For the Chief Musician; [set to] Al-tash-heth. A Psalm of Asaph; a song. We give thanks to you, O God; We give thanks and call on your name: Men tell of your wondrous works.
1 A ti, ó Deus, glorificamos, a ti damos louvor, pois o teu nome está perto, as tuas maravilhas o declaram.
2 When I will find the set time, I will judge uprightly.
2 Quando eu ocupar o lugar determinado, julgarei retamente.
3 The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved: I have set up the pillars of it. Selah.
3 A terra e todos os seus moradores estão dissolvidos, mas eu fortaleci as suas colunas. (Selá.)
4 I said to the arrogant, Do not deal arrogantly; And to the wicked, Don't lift up the horn:
4 Disse eu aos loucos: Não enlouqueçais, e aos ímpios: Não levanteis a fronte;
5 Don't lift up your{+} horn on high; Don't speak with a stiff neck.
5 Não levanteis a vossa fronte altiva, nem faleis com cerviz dura.
6 For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, [comes] lifting up.
6 Porque nem do oriente, nem do ocidente, nem do deserto vem a exaltação.
7 But God is the judge: He puts down one, and lifts up another.
7 Mas Deus é o Juiz: a um abate, e a outro exalta.
8 For in the hand of Yahweh there is a cup, and the wine foams; It is an undiluted mixture, and he pours out of the same: Surely its dregs, all the wicked of the earth will drain them, and drink them.
8 Porque na mão do Senhor há um cálice cujo vinho é tinto; está cheio de mistura; e dá a beber dele; mas as escórias dele todos os ímpios da terra as sorverão e beberão.
9 But I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
9 E eu o declararei para sempre; cantarei louvores ao Deus de Jacó.
10 All the horns of the wicked also I will cut off; But the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
10 E quebrarei todas as forças dos ímpios, mas as forças dos justos serão exaltadas.
