¹ For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O Yahweh, from [the] evil man; Preserve me from the violent man:

¹ Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi. Livrai-me, Senhor, do homem mau; preservai-me do homem violento,

² Who devise mischiefs in their heart; Continually they gather themselves together for war.

² daqueles que tramam o mal no coração, que provocam discórdias diariamente,

³ They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; Adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

³ que aguçam a língua qual serpente, que ocultam nos lábios veneno viperino.

⁴ Keep me, O Yahweh, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man: Who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.

⁴ Salvai-me, Senhor, das mãos do ímpio; preservai-me do homem violento, daqueles que tramam minha queda.

⁵ The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set traps for me. Selah.

⁵ Orgulhosos, armam laços contra mim e estendem suas redes, e junto ao caminho me colocam ciladas.

⁶ I said to Yahweh, You are my God: Give ear to the voice of my supplications, O Yahweh.

⁶ Digo ao Senhor: Vós sois o meu Deus. Escutai, Senhor, a voz de minha súplica.

⁷ O Yahweh the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

⁷ Senhor Deus, meu poderoso apoio! Vós protegeis minha fronte no dia do combate.

⁸ Don't grant, O Yahweh, the desires of the wicked; Don't further his evil plot. They will exalt themselves. Selah.

⁸ Não atendais, Senhor, os desejos do ímpio, não deixeis que se cumpram seus desígnios.

⁹ As for the head of those who speak lies about me Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

⁹ Que não levantem a cabeça os que me cercam; sobre eles recaia a malícia de seus lábios.

¹⁰ Let burning coals fall on them: Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, from where they will not rise.

¹⁰ Carvões ardentes chovam sobre eles: sejam lançados numa fossa de onde não se ergam mais.

¹¹ An evil speaker will not be established in the earth: Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

¹¹ Não terá duração na terra a má língua; o infortúnio surpreenderá o homem violento.

¹² I know that Yahweh will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the needy.

¹² Sei que o Senhor defende o desvalido, e faz justiça aos pobres.

¹³ Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name: The upright will dwell in your presence.

¹³ Sim, os justos celebrarão o vosso nome, e os retos poderão viver em vossa presença.
