1 And when David was a little past the top [of the ascent], look, Ziba the attendant of Mephibaal met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred clusters of raisins, and an ephah of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
1 E quando Davi havia passado um pouco do cume do monte, eis que Ziba, o servo de Mefibosete o encontrou, com uma junta de jumentos selados, e sobre eles duzentos bolos de pão, e cem cachos de uvas passas, e cem frutos de verão, e uma garrafa de vinho.
2 And the king said to Ziba, What do you mean by these? And Ziba said, The donkeys are for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.
2 E o rei disse a Ziba: O que queres tu dizer com essas coisas? E Ziba disse: Os jumentos são para a montaria da casa do rei; e o pão e os frutos de verão para os moços comerem; e o vinho, para que os que estão exaustos no deserto possam beber.
3 And the king said, And where is your master's son? And Ziba said to the king, Look, he remains at Jerusalem; for he said, Today will the house of Israel restore to me the kingdom of my father.
3 E o rei disse: E onde está o filho do teu senhor? E Ziba disse ao rei: Eis que permanece em Jerusalém; porque disse: Hoje, a casa de Israel me restituirá o reino do meu pai.
4 Then the king said to Ziba, Look, all that pertains to Mephibaal is yours. And Ziba said, I do obeisance; let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.
4 Então o rei disse a Ziba: Eis que teu é tudo o que pertence a Mefibosete. E Ziba disse: Humildemente te suplico que eu possa achar graça à tua vista, meu senhor, ó rei.
5 And when King David came to Bahurim, look, there came out from there a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out, and cursed still as he came.
5 E quando o rei Davi chegou a Baurim, eis que de lá saiu um homem da família da casa de Saul, cujo nome era Simei, o filho de Gera; ele saiu, e amaldiçoava ainda enquanto vinha.
6 And he cast stones at David, and at all the slaves of King David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
6 E ele atirou pedras em Davi, e em todos os servos do rei Davi; e todo o povo e todos os homens valentes estavam à sua direita e à sua esquerda.
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Begone, begone, you man of blood, and base fellow:
7 E assim dizia Simei, enquanto amaldiçoava: Vem para fora, vem para fora tu, homem sanguinário, e tu, homem de Belial.
8 Yahweh has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead you have reigned; and Yahweh has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son; and, look, you are [taken] in your own mischief, because you are a man of blood.
8 O SENHOR retornou sobre ti todo o sangue da casa de Saul, em cujo lugar estás reinando; e o SENHOR entregou o reino na mão de Absalão, teu filho; e eis que tu foste pego na tua maldade, porque tu és um homem sanguinário.
9 Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah to the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over, I pray you, and take off his head.
9 Então, disse Abisai, o filho de Zeruia, ao rei: Por que deveria este cão morto amaldiçoar o meu senhor, o rei? Permita que eu me aproxime dele, rogo-te, e corte-lhe a cabeça.
10 And the king said, What have I to do with you{+}, you{+} sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him, Curse David; who then will say, Why have you done so?
10 E o rei disse: O que tenho convosco, filhos de Zeruia? Portanto, que ele amaldiçoe, porque o SENHOR tem-lhe dito: Amaldiçoa Davi. Quem, então, dirá: Por que fizeste isso?
11 And David said to Abishai, and to all his slaves, Look, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life: how much more [may] this Benjamite now [do it]? Let him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has bidden him.
11 E Davi disse a Abisai e a todos os seus servos: Eis que o meu filho, o qual saiu das minhas entranhas, busca a minha vida; quanto mais, agora, poderá este benjamita fazê-lo? Deixem-no a sós, e deixem-no amaldiçoar; porque o SENHOR lhe ordenou.
12 It may be that Yahweh will look at the wrong done to me, and that Yahweh will requite me good for [his] cursing of me this day.
12 Pode ser que o SENHOR olhe para a minha aflição, e que o SENHOR me retribua o bem pela sua maldição neste dia.
13 So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hillside across from him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
13 E enquanto Davi e os seus homens seguiam pelo caminho, Simei seguia pela encosta contra ele, e o amaldiçoava enquanto seguia, e jogava pedras nele, e lançava pó.
14 And the king, and all the people who were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.
14 E o rei, e todo o povo que estava com ele, ficou exausto, e ali se refrescaram.
15 And Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
15 E Absalão, e todo o povo, os homens de Israel, vieram até Jerusalém, e com ele Aitofel.
16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, came to Absalom, that Hushai said to Absalom, [Long] live the king, [Long] live the king.
16 E sucedeu que, quando Husai, o arquita, amigo de Davi, chegou a Absalão, Husai disse a Absalão: Deus salve o rei, Deus salve o rei.
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this your kindness to your companion? Why didn't you go with your companion?
17 E Absalão disse a Husai: Esta é a tua bondade para com o teu amigo? Por que não foste com o teu amigo?
18 And Hushai said to Absalom, No; but whom Yahweh, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, I will be his, and I will remain with him.
18 E Husai disse a Absalão: Não; mas a quem o SENHOR, e o seu povo, e todos os homens de Israel escolherem, dele serei eu, e com ele permanecerei.
19 And again, whom should I serve? [Should I] not [serve] in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father's presence, so I will be in your presence.
19 E, mais uma vez, a quem devo eu servir? Não deveria eu servir na presença do seu filho? Como servi na presença do teu pai, da mesma forma estarei na tua presença?
20 Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, Give your{+} counsel what we will do.
20 Então disse Absalão a Aitofel: Dá conselho entre vós sobre o que faremos.
21 And Ahithophel said to Absalom, Go in to your father's concubines, that he has left to keep the house; and all Israel will hear that you are abhorred of your father: then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.
21 E Aitofel disse a Absalão: Entra às concubinas do teu pai, as quais ele deixou para cuidar da casa; e todo o Israel ouvirá que tu és odioso ao teu pai; então, as mãos de todos os que estão contigo serão fortes.
22 So they spread Absalom a tent on the top of the house; and Absalom went in to his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.
22 Assim, eles armaram uma tenda para Absalão no topo da casa; e Absalão entrou às concubinas do seu pai à vista de todo o Israel.
23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
23 E o conselho de Aitofel, o qual ele aconselhava naqueles dias, era como se um homem tivesse consultado um oráculo de Deus; assim era todo o conselho de Aitofel, tanto para Davi, como para Absalão.
