1 And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
1 E eles continuaram três anos sem guerra entre a Síria e Israel.
2 And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
2 E sucedeu, no terceiro ano, que Josafá, o rei de Judá, desceu até ao rei de Israel.
3 And the king of Israel said to his slaves, Do you{+} know that Ramoth-gilead is ours, and we are still, and do not take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?
3 E o rei de Israel disse aos seus servos: Sabei que Ramote de Gileade é nossa, e estamos quietos, e não a tomamos da mão do rei da Síria?
4 And he said to Jehoshaphat, Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth-gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.
4 E ele disse a Josafá: Queres ir comigo à batalha em Ramote-Gileade. E Josafá disse ao rei de Israel: Eu sou como tu és, o meu povo como o teu povo, os meus cavalos como os teus cavalos.
5 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire first, I pray you, for the word of Yahweh.
5 E Josafá disse ao rei de Israel: Rogo-te que consultes a palavra do SENHOR hoje.
6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.
6 Então, o rei de Israel reuniu os profetas, cerca de quatrocentos homens, e disse-lhes: Devo ir em batalha contra Ramote-Gileade? Ou, devo me refrear? E eles disseram: Sobe; porque o Senhor a entregará na mão do rei.
7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?
7 E Josafá disse: Não há aqui um profeta do SENHOR, além desses, para que possamos consultá-lo?
8 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, there is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah: but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Don't let the king say so.
8 E o rei de Israel disse a Josafá: Há ainda um homem, Micaías, o filho de Inlá, por quem podemos consultar ao SENHOR; no entanto, eu o odeio; porque não profetiza o bem a meu respeito, senão o mal. E Josafá disse: Não fale o rei assim.
9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.
9 Então, o rei de Israel chamou um oficial, e disse: Apressa-te para cá Micaías, filho de Inlá.
10 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
10 E o rei de Israel e Josafá, o rei de Judá, se assentaram, cada qual em seu trono, tendo colocado as suas vestes em um local vazio, à entrada do portão de Samaria; e todos os profetas profetizaram diante deles.
11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron, and said, Thus says Yahweh, With these you will push the Syrians, until they are consumed.
11 E Zedequias, o filho de Quenaaná, fez para si chifres de ferro; e disse: Assim diz o SENHOR: Com estes ferirás os sírios, até que os tenhas consumido.
12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.
12 E todos os profetas profetizaram assim, dizendo: Sobe até Ramote-Gileade, e prospera; porque o SENHOR a entregará na mão do rei.
13 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Look now, the words of the prophets [declare] good to the king with one mouth: let your word, I pray you, be like the word of one of them, and speak good.
13 E o mensageiro que foi chamar Micaías falou a ele, dizendo: Eis que, as palavras dos profetas declaram o bem ao rei em uníssono; rogo-te que a tua palavra seja como a palavra de um deles, e fale aquilo que é bom.
14 And Micaiah said, As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.
14 E Micaías disse: Como vive o SENHOR, o que o SENHOR disser a mim, isto falarei.
15 And when he came to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go up and prosper; and Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.
15 Assim, ele veio até ao rei. E o rei disse a ele: Micaías, devemos ir em Batalha contra Ramote-Gileade, ou devemos nos refrear? E ele lhe respondeu: Vai e prospera; porque o SENHOR a entregará na mão do rei.
16 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?
16 E o rei lhe disse: Quantas vezes devo conjurar-te que não me contes nada além daquilo que é verdadeiro, em nome do SENHOR?
17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and Yahweh said, These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.
17 E ele disse: Vi todo o Israel espalhado sobre os montes, como ovelhas que não têm um pastor; e o SENHOR disse: Estas não têm senhor; que retorne cada homem à sua casa em paz.
18 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Didn't I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?
18 E disse o rei de Israel a Josafá: Não te contei eu que ele não profetizaria bem algum a meu respeito, senão o mal?
19 And [Micaiah] said, Therefore hear the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
19 E ele disse: Ouve tu, portanto, a palavra do SENHOR: Eu vi o SENHOR assentado no seu trono, e todo o exército do céu de pé junto a ele à sua direita e à sua esquerda.
20 And Yahweh said, Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner; and another said on that manner.
20 E o SENHOR disse: Quem persuadirá Acabe para que ele possa subir e tombar em Ramote-Gileade? E um disse desse modo, e outro daquele modo.
21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before Yahweh, and said, I will entice him.
21 E veio ali um espírito, e se pôs de pé diante do SENHOR, e disse: Eu o persuadirei.
22 And Yahweh said to him, How? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You will entice him, and will prevail also: go forth, and do so.
22 E o SENHOR disse a ele: Com o quê? E ele disse: Eu sairei e serei um espírito mentiroso na boca de todos os seus profetas. E ele disse: Tu o persuadirás, e também prevalecerás; vai adiante, e faz assim.
23 Now therefore, look, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.
23 Agora, portanto, eis que o SENHOR colocou um espírito mentiroso na boca de todos estes teus profetas, e o SENHOR falou o mal a teu respeito.
24 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way did the Spirit of Yahweh go from me to speak to you?
24 Todavia, Zedequias, o filho de Quenaaná se aproximou, e feriu Micaías no maxilar, e disse: Qual caminho passou o Espírito do SENHOR de mim para falar a ti?
25 And Micaiah said, Look, you will see on that day, when you will go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.
25 E Micaías disse: Eis que verás naquele dia, quando adentrares uma câmara interna para te esconderes.
26 And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
26 E o rei de Israel disse: Tomai Micaías, e carregai-o de volta a Amom, o governador da cidade, e a Joás, o filho do rei.
27 and say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
27 E dizei: Assim diz o rei: Colocai este indivíduo na prisão, e alimentai-o com pão da aflição e com água da aflição, até que eu venha em paz.
28 And Micaiah said, If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, you{+} peoples, all of you{+}.
28 E Micaías disse: Se, em verdade, tu retornares em paz, o SENHOR não falou por meu intermédio. E ele disse: Atentai, ó povos, cada um de vós.
29 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
29 Assim, o rei de Israel e Josafá, o rei de Judá, subiram a Ramote-Gileade.
30 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
30 E o rei de Israel disse a Josafá: Eu me disfarçarei, e entrarei na batalha; mas tu pões as tuas vestes. E o rei de Israel se disfarçou, e foi à batalha.
31 Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, but only with the king of Israel.
31 O rei da Síria, no entanto, ordenou aos seus trinta e dois capitães que tinham o comando sobre as suas carruagens, dizendo: Não luteis com pequeno, nem grande, tão somente com o rei de Israel.
32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel; and they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
32 E sucedeu que, quando os capitães das carruagens viram Josafá, que eles disseram: Certamente é o rei de Israel. E eles viraram para o lado, para lutarem contra ele; e Josafá gritou.
33 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it wasn't the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
33 E sucedeu que, quando os capitães das carruagens perceberam que ele não era o rei de Israel, voltaram da perseguição a ele.
34 And a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor: therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, Turn your hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am critically wounded.
34 E, um certo homem, entesou um arco a esmo, e feriu o rei de Israel entre as juntas da couraça; pelo que ele disse ao condutor da sua carruagem: Vira a tua mão, e carrega-me para fora do exército; porque estou ferido.
35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was propped up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at evening; and the blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
35 E a batalha se intensificou naquele dia; e o rei ficou de pé na sua carruagem na frente dos sírios, e morreu ao anoitecer; e o sangue escorreu do ferimento para o meio da carruagem.
36 And there went a cry throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his country.
36 E seguiu ali uma proclamação por todo o exército por volta do pôr do sol, dizendo: Cada homem à sua cidade, e cada homem à sua própria terra.
37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
37 Assim, o rei morreu, e foi trazido a Samaria; e eles sepultaram o rei em Samaria.
38 And they washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood (now the prostitutes washed themselves [there]); according to the word of Yahweh which he spoke.
38 E um lavou a carruagem no tanque de Samaria; e os cães lamberam o seu sangue; e lavaram a sua armadura; segundo a palavra do SENHOR, a qual ele falou.
39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
39 Ora, o restante dos atos de Acabe, e tudo o que ele fez, e a casa de marfim que ele fez, e todas as cidades que edificou, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
40 Assim, Acabe dormiu com os seus pais; e Acazias, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
41 And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
41 E Josafá, o filho de Asa, começou a reinar sobre Judá no quarto ano de Acabe, rei de Israel.
42 Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
42 Josafá tinha trinta e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar; e reinou vinte e cinco anos em Jerusalém. E o nome da sua mãe era Azuba, a filha de Sili.
43 And he walked in all the way of Asa his father; He didn't turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
43 E ele andou em todos os caminhos de Asa, o seu pai; não se desviou disto, fazendo aquilo que era reto aos olhos do SENHOR; todavia, os lugares altos não foram removidos; porquanto o povo ainda oferecia e queimava incenso nos lugares altos.
44 And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
44 E Josafá fez paz com o rei de Israel.
45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
45 Ora, o restante dos atos de Josafá, e o poder que ele mostrou, e como guerreou, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá?
46 And the remnant of the homosexuals, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
46 E o remanescente dos sodomitas, que restavam nos dias do seu pai Asa, ele removeu da terra.
47 And there was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
47 Não havia, então, rei em Edom; porém um vice-rei.
48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they did not go; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.
48 Josafá fez navios de Társis para ir até Ofir por causa de ouro; mas eles não foram; porque os navios foram quebrados em Eziom-Geber.
49 Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, Let my slaves go with your slaves in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
49 Então, disse Acazias, o filho de Acabe, a Josafá: Permite que os meus servos sigam com os teus servos nos navios. Josafá, no entanto, não o quis.
50 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
50 E Josafá dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado com os seus pais na cidade de Davi, o seu pai; e Jorão, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
51 Acazias, o filho de Acabe, começou a reinar sobre Israel em Samaria no décimo sétimo ano de Josafá, rei de Judá, e reinou dois anos sobre Israel.
52 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
52 E ele fez o mal à vista do SENHOR, e andou no caminho do seu pai, e no caminho da sua mãe, e no caminho de Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, que fez Israel pecar;
53 And he served Baal, and worshiped him, and provoked Yahweh to anger, the God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
53 porquanto serviu a Baal, e o adorou, e provocou à ira o SENHOR Deus de Israel, segundo tudo o que o seu pai havia feito.
