1 At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.
1 Naquele tempo adoeceu Abias, filho de Jeroboão.
2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray you, and disguise yourself, that you will not be known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and go to Shiloh: see, there is Ahijah the prophet, who spoke concerning me that I should be king over this people.
2 E disse Jeroboão a sua mulher: Levanta-te, e disfarça-te, para que não conheçam que és mulher de Jeroboão, e vai a Siló. Eis que lá está o profeta Aías, o qual falou acerca de mim que eu seria rei sobre este povo.
3 And take with you ten loaves, and cakes, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he will tell you what will become of the lad.
3 Leva contigo dez pães, alguns bolos e uma botija de mel, e vai ter com ele; ele te declarará o que há de suceder a este menino.
4 And Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
4 Assim, pois, fez a mulher de Jeroboão; e, levantando-se, foi a Siló, e entrou na casa de Aías. Este já não podia ver, pois seus olhos haviam cegado por causa da velhice.
5 And Yahweh said to Ahijah, Look, the wife of Jeroboam comes to inquire of you concerning her son; for he is sick: thus and thus you will say to her; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will feign herself to be another woman.
5 O Senhor, porém, dissera a Aías: Eis que a mulher de Jeroboão vem consultar-te sobre seu filho, que está doente. Assim e assim lhe falarás; porque há de ser que, entrando ela, fingirá ser outra.
6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, you wife of Jeroboam; why feign you yourself to be another? For I am sent to you with difficult news.
6 Sucedeu que, ouvindo Aías o ruído de seus pés, ao entrar ela pela porta, disse: Entra, mulher de Jeroboão; por que te disfarças assim? Pois eu sou enviado a ti com duras novas.
7 Go, tell Jeroboam, This is what Yahweh, the God of Israel, says: Since I exalted you from among the people, and made you leader over my people Israel,
7 Vai, dize a Jeroboão: Assim diz o Senhor Deus de Israel: Porquanto te exaltei do meio do povo, e te constituí príncipe sobre o meu povo de Israel,
8 and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it you; and yet you haven't been as my slave David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do only that which was right in my eyes,
8 e rasguei o reino da casa de Davi, e o dei a ti; todavia não tens sido como o meu servo Davi, que guardou os meus mandamentos e que me seguiu de todo o coração para fazer somente o que era reto aos meus olhos;
9 but have done evil above all who were before you, and have gone and made for yourself other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:
9 mas tens praticado o mal, pior do que todos os que foram antes de ti, e foste fizeste para ti outros deuses e imagens de fundição, para provocar-me à ira, e me lançaste para trás das tuas costas;
10 therefore, look, I will bring evil on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam [every] one urinating against a wall, whether slave or free in Israel, and will completely sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweeps away dung, until it is all gone.
10 portanto, eis que trarei o mal sobre a casa de Jeroboão, e exterminarei de Jeroboão todo homem, escravo ou livre, em Israel, e lançarei fora os remanescentes da casa de Jeroboão, como se lança fora o esterco, até que de todo se acabe.
11 He of Jeroboam that dies in the city, the dogs will eat; and he who dies in the field, the birds of the heavens will eat: for Yahweh has spoken it.
11 Quem morrer a Jeroboão na cidade, comê-lo-ão os cães; e o que lhe morrer no campo, comê-lo-ão as aves do céu; porque o Senhor o disse.
12 You arise therefore, go to your house: [and] when your feet enter into the city, the child will die.
12 Levanta-te, pois, e vai-te para tua casa; ao entrarem os teus pés na cidade, o menino morrerá.
13 And all Israel will mourn for him, and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam will come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
13 E todo o Israel o pranteará, e o sepultará; porque de Jeroboão só este entrará em sepultura, porquanto, dos da casa de Jeroboão, só nele se achou alguma coisa boa para com o Senhor Deus de Israel.
14 Moreover Yahweh will raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? Even now.
14 O Senhor, porém, levantará para si um rei sobre Israel, que destruirá a casa de Jeroboão. Este é o dia! Sim desde agora.
15 For Yahweh will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking Yahweh to anger.
15 Ferirá o Senhor a Israel, como se agita a cana nas águas; e arrancará a Israel desta boa terra que tinha dado a seus pais, e o espalhará para além do rio, porquanto fizeram os seus aserins, provocando o Senhor à ira.
16 And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Israel to sin.
16 E entregará Israel por causa dos pecados de Jeroboão, o qual pecou e fez pecar a Israel.
17 And Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: [and] as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.
17 Então a mulher de Jeroboão se levantou e partiu, e veio para Tirza; chegando ela ao limiar da casa, o menino morreu.
18 And all Israel buried him, and mourned for him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his slave Ahijah the prophet.
18 E todo o Israel o sepultou e o pranteou, conforme a palavra do Senhor, que ele falara por intermédio de seu servo Aías, o profeta.
19 And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, look, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
19 Quanto ao restante dos atos de Jeroboão, como guerreou, e como reinou, eis que está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel.
20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.
20 E o tempo que Jeroboão reinou foi vinte e dois anos. E dormiu com seus pais; e Nadabe, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
21 And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.
21 Reinou em Judá Roboão, filho de Salomão. Tinha quarenta e um anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que o Senhor escolhera dentre todas as tribos de Israel para pôr ali o seu nome. E era o nome de sua mãe Naamá, a amonita.
22 And Judah did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done.
22 E fez Judá o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor; e, com os seus pecados que cometeram, provocaram-no a zelos, mais do que o fizeram os seus pais.
23 For they also built themselves high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree;
23 Porque também eles edificaram altos, e colunas, e aserins sobre todo alto outeiro e debaixo de toda árvore frondosa;
24 and there were also homosexuals in the land: they did according to all the disgusting behaviors of the nations which Yahweh drove out before the sons of Israel.
24 e havia também sodomitas na terra: fizeram conforme todas as abominações dos povos que o Senhor tinha expulsado de diante dos filhos de Israel.
25 And it came to pass in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem;
25 Ora, sucedeu que, no quinto ano do rei Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém,
26 and he took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
26 e tomou os tesouros da casa de Senhor e os tesouros da casa do rei; levou tudo. Também tomou todos os escudos de ouro que Salomão tinha feito.
27 And King Rehoboam made in their stead shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.
27 Em lugar deles, fez o rei Roboão escudos de bronze, e os entregou nas mãos dos capitães da guarda, que guardavam a porta da casa do rei.
28 And it was so, that, as often as the king went into the house of Yahweh, the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard-chamber.
28 E todas as vezes que o rei entrava na casa do Senhor os da guarda levavam os escudos, e depois tornavam a pô-los na câmara da guarda.
29 Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
29 Quanto ao restante dos atos de Reboão, e a tudo quanto fez, porventura não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?
30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
30 Houve guerra continuamente entre Roboão e Jeroboão.
31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.
31 E Roboão dormiu com seus pais, e foi sepultado com eles na cidade de Davi. Era o nome de sua mãe Naamá, a amonita. E Abião, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
