1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remains under curtains.
1 Ora, sucedeu, enquanto estava assentado na sua casa, que Davi disse a Natã, o profeta: Eis que eu habito em uma casa de cedros, mas a arca do pacto do SENHOR permanece debaixo de cortinas.
2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in yours heart; for God is with you.
2 Então, Natã disse a Davi: Faz tudo o que está no teu coração; porque Deus está contigo.
3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
3 E sucedeu, naquela mesma noite, que a palavra de Deus veio a Natã, dizendo:
4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me an house to dwell in:
4 Vai e diz a Davi, o meu servo: Assim diz o SENHOR: Tu não edificarás para mim uma casa na qual eu habite;
5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
5 Porque até este dia, não tenho habitado em uma casa desde o dia que fiz subir Israel; mas tenho ido de tenda em tenda, e de um tabernáculo a outro.
6 Where ever I have walked with all Israel, spoke I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have all of you not built me an house of cedars?
6 Onde quer que eu tenha caminhado com todo o Israel, falei alguma palavra a qualquer dos juízes de Israel, aos quais ordenei que alimentassem o meu povo, dizendo: Por que não edificastes para mim uma casa de cedros?
7 Now therefore thus shall you say unto my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel:
7 Agora, portanto, assim dirás ao meu servo Davi: Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Eu te tirei do aprisco, do pastoreio das ovelhas, para ser soberano sobre o meu povo, Israel;
8 And I have been with you anywhere you have walked, and have cut off all yours enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
8 e tenho estado contigo onde quer que tenhas andado; e tenho cortado todos os teus inimigos de diante de ti, e tenho feito para ti um nome semelhante o nome dos grandes homens que estão na terra.
9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
9 Também ordenarei um lugar para o meu povo, Israel, e haverei de plantá-los, e eles habitarão no seu lugar, e não mais serão removidos; tampouco os filhos da iniquidade voltarão a se aproveitar deles, como no princípio,
10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all yours enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you an house.
10 e desde o tempo em que eu ordenei aos juízes para estarem acima do meu povo, Israel. Além disso, subjugarei todos os teus inimigos. Sobretudo, digo-te que o SENHOR edificará para ti uma casa.
11 And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
11 E sucederá, quando estiverem expirados os teus dias, quando tiveres que ir para estar com os teus pais, que levantarei a tua semente após ti, a qual será dos teus filhos; e eu estabelecerei o seu reino.
12 He shall build me an house, and I will establish his throne for ever.
12 Ele edificará uma casa para mim, e eu estabelecerei o seu trono para sempre.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you:
13 Eu serei o seu pai, e ele será o meu filho; e não removerei a minha misericórdia dele, como a removi daquele que esteve antes de ti;
14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.
14 mas eu o assentarei na minha casa e no meu reino para sempre; e o seu trono será estabelecido para todo o sempre.
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
15 De acordo com todas estas palavras, e de acordo com toda esta visão, assim falou Natã a Davi.
16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that you have brought me until now?
16 E o rei Davi, entrou, e se assentou diante do SENHOR, e disse: Quem sou eu, ó SENHOR Deus? O que é a minha casa, para que me tenhas trazido até aqui?
17 And yet this was a small thing in yours eyes, O God; for you have also spoken of your servant's house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
17 E, contudo, isto foi pouca coisa aos teus olhos, ó Deus; pois tu tens falado da casa do teu servo para um distante no porvir, e tens me respeitado como um homem de alto nível, ó SENHOR Deus.
18 What can David speak more to you for the honour of your servant? for you know your servant.
18 O que mais Davi pode falar a ti para a honra do teu servo? Porque tu conheces o teu servo.
19 O LORD, for your servant's sake, and according to yours own heart, have you done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
19 Ó SENHOR, por causa do teu servo, e segundo o teu próprio coração, tu tens feito toda esta grandeza, ao tornares conhecidas todas estas grandes coisas.
20 O LORD, there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
20 Ó SENHOR, pois não há nenhum como tu, nem há qualquer Deus ao teu lado, segundo tudo o que temos ouvido com os nossos ouvidos.
21 And what one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make you a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before your people whom you have redeemed out of Egypt?
21 E que nação na terra é como o teu povo Israel, ao qual Deus foi redimir para ser o seu próprio povo, para fazer um nome de grandeza e temor para ti, ao expulsares nações de diante do teu povo, o qual tens redimido do Egito?
22 For your people Israel did you make yours own people for ever; and you, LORD, became their God.
22 Porque do teu povo, Israel, fizeste o teu próprio povo para sempre; e tu, SENHOR, tornaste-te o seu Deus.
23 Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as you have said.
23 Portanto, agora, SENHOR, que a palavra que tens falado acerca do teu servo e acerca da sua casa seja estabelecida para sempre, e faz conforme tens dito.
24 Let it even be established, that your name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David your servant be established before you.
24 Que, de fato, seja estabelecido, que o teu nome possa ser magnificado para sempre, e diga-se: O SENHOR dos Exércitos é o Deus de Israel, é o Deus para Israel; e que a casa de Davi, o teu servo, seja estabelecida diante de ti.
25 For you, O my God, have told your servant that you will build him an house: therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray before you.
25 Porque tu, ó meu Deus, disseste ao teu servo que edificarás para ele uma casa; porquanto o teu servo achou valor no seu coração para orar diante de ti.
26 And now, LORD, you are God, and have promised this goodness unto your servant:
26 E, agora, SENHOR, tu és Deus, e tens prometido a tua bondade ao teu servo.
27 Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may be before you for ever: for you bless, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.
27 Agora, portanto, foste servido abençoar a casa do teu servo, para que ela possa estar diante de ti para sempre; porque tu abençoas, ó SENHOR, e ela será abençoada para sempre.
