1 When thou goest out to batayle agenste thine enemyes, and seest horses and charettes and people moo then thou, be not aferde of them, for the Lorde thy God is with the whiche broughte the out of the londe off Egipte.
1 Quando saíres à peleja contra teus inimigos e vires cavalos, e carros, e povo maior em número do que tu, deles não terás temor, pois o Senhor , teu Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egito, está contigo.
2 And when ye are come nye vnto batayle, let the preast come forth and speake vnto the people
2 E será que, quando vos achegardes à peleja, o sacerdote se adiantará, e falará ao povo,
3 and saye vnto them: Heare Israel, ye are come vnto batayle agenste youre enemyes, let not youre hartes faynte, nether feare nor be amased nor a dreade of them.
3 e dir-lhe-á: Ouve, ó Israel, hoje vos achegais à peleja contra os vossos inimigos; que se não amoleça o vosso coração; não temais, nem tremais, nem vos aterrorizeis diante deles,
4 For the Lorde thy God goeth with you to fyghte for you agenste youre enemyes and to saue you.
4 pois o Senhor , vosso Deus, é o que vai convosco, a pelejar contra os vossos inimigos, para salvar-vos.
5 And let the officers speake vnto the people sayenge: Yf any man haue bylt a new housse and haue not dedicate it, let him goo and returne to his housse lest he dye in the batayle, and another dedicate it.
5 Então, os oficiais falarão ao povo, dizendo: Qual é o homem que edificou casa nova e ainda a não consagrou? Vá e torne-se à sua casa, para que, porventura, não morra na peleja, e algum outro a consagre.
6 And yf any man haue planted a vyneyarde and haue not made it comen , let him goo and returne agayne vnto his house, lest he dye in the batayle and another make it comen.
6 E qual é o homem que plantou uma vinha e ainda não logrou fruto dela? Vá e torne-se à sua casa, para que, porventura, não morra na peleja, e algum outro o logre.
7 And yf any man be betrothed vnto a wyfe and haue not taken hyr, let hym goo and returne agayne vnto his housse, lest he dye in the batayle and another take her.
7 E qual é o homem que está desposado com alguma mulher e ainda a não recebeu? Vá e torne-se à sua casa, para que, porventura, não morra na peleja, e algum outro homem a receba.
8 And let the officers speake further vnto the people and saye. Yf any man feare and be faynte herted, let him goo and returne vnto his housse, lest his brothers hert be made faynte as well as his.
8 E continuarão os oficiais a falar ao povo, dizendo: Qual é o homem medroso e de coração tímido? Vá e torne-se à sua casa, para que o coração de seus irmãos se não derreta como o seu coração.
9 And when the officers haue made an ende off speakynge vnto the people, let the make captaynes of warre ouer them.
9 E será que, quando os oficiais acabarem de falar ao povo, então, designarão os maiorais dos exércitos para a dianteira do povo.
10 When thou comest nye vnto a citie to fight agenst it, offre them peace.
10 Quando te achegares a alguma cidade a combatê-la, apregoar-lhe-ás a paz.
11 And yf they answere the agayne peasably, and open vnto the, then let all the people that is founde therein be tributaries vnto the and serue the.
11 E será que, se te responder em paz e te abrir, todo o povo que se achar nela te será tributário e te servirá.
12 But and yf they will make no peace with the, then make warre agenste the citie and besege it.
12 Porém, se ela não fizer paz contigo, mas, antes, te fizer guerra, então, a sitiarás.
13 And when the Lord thy God hath delyuered it in to thine handes, smyte all the males thereof with the edge of the swerde,
13 E o Senhor , teu Deus, a dará na tua mão; e todo varão que houver nela passarás ao fio da espada,
14 saue the weme and the childern and the catell and all that is in the citie and all the spoyle thereof take vnto thy selfe and eate the spoyle of thyne enemies which the Lord thy God geueth the.
14 salvo as mulheres, e as crianças, e os animais; e tudo o que houver na cidade, todo o seu despojo, tomarás para ti; e comerás o despojo dos teus inimigos, que te deu o Senhor , teu Deus.
15 Thus thou shalt doo vnto all the cities whiche are a greate waye of from the ad not of the cities of these nacions.
15 Assim farás a todas as cidades que estiverem mui longe de ti, que não forem das cidades destas nações.
16 But in the cities of these nacions which the Lorde thy God geueth the to enheret, thou shalt saue alyue nothinge that bretheth.
16 Porém, das cidades destas nações, que o Senhor , teu Deus, te dá em herança, nenhuma coisa que tem fôlego deixarás com vida.
17 But shalt destroye them with out redempcion, both the Hethites, the Amorites, the Cananites, the Pherezites, the Heuites and the Iebusites, as the Lorde thy God hath commaunded the,
17 Antes, destruí-las-ás totalmente: aos heteus, e aos amorreus, e aos cananeus, e aos ferezeus, e aos heveus, e aos jebuseus, como te ordenou o Senhor , teu Deus,
18 that they teach you not to doo after all their abhominacyons whiche they doo vnto theire goddes, and so shulde synne agenst the Lorde youre God
18 para que vos não ensinem a fazer conforme todas as suas abominações, que fizeram a seus deuses, e pequeis contra o Senhor , vosso Deus.
19 When thou hast beseged a citie longe tyme in makinge warre agenst it to take it. destroye not the trees thereof, that thou woldest thrust an axe vnto them. For thou mayst eate of the, and therfore destroye them not. For the trees of the feldes are no men, that they myght come agenst the to besege the.
19 Quando sitiares uma cidade por muitos dias, pelejando contra ela para a tomar, não destruirás o seu arvoredo, metendo nele o machado, porque dele comerás; pelo que o não cortarás (pois o arvoredo do campo é o mantimento do homem), para que sirva de tranqueira diante de ti.
20 Neuerthelater those trees which thou knowest that me eate not of them, thou maist destroye and cutte them doune and make bolwerkes agenst the citie that maketh warre with the, vntyll it be ouerthrowne.
20 Mas as árvores que souberes que não são árvores de comer destruí-las-ás e cortá-las-ás; e contra a cidade que guerrear contra ti edificarás baluartes, até que esta seja derribada.
