1 Am I not an Apostle? am I not fre? have I not sene Iesus Christ oure lorde?
1 Não sou eu um apóstolo? Eu não sou livre? Não tenho eu visto Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor? Não sois vós a minha obra no Senhor?
2 Are not ye my worke in the lorde. Yf I be not an Apostle vnto other yet am I vnto you. For the seale of myne Apostleshippe are ye in the lorde.
2 Se eu não sou apóstolo para os outros, sem dúvida o sou para vós; pois o selo do meu apostolado sois vós no Senhor.
3 Myne answer to them that axe me is this.
3 A minha resposta para com os que me examinam é esta:
4 Have we not power to eate and to drynke?
4 Não temos nós poder para comer e beber?
5 Ether have we not power to leade about a sister to wyfe as wel as other Apostles and as the brethren of the lorde and Cephas?
5 Não temos nós poder para levar conosco uma irmã, uma esposa, bem como os demais apóstolos, e como os irmãos do Senhor, e Cefas?
6 Ether only I and Barnabas have not power this to do?
6 Ou somente eu e Barnabé não temos o poder para deixar de trabalhar?
7 who goeth a warfare eny tyme at his awne cost? who planteth a vynearde and eateth not of the frute? Who fedeth a flocke and eateth not of the mylke?
7 Quem vai a uma guerra a qualquer momento por conta própria? Quem planta uma vinha e não come do seu fruto? Ou quem alimenta o rebanho e não se alimenta do leite do rebanho?
8 Saye I these thinges after the manner of men? Or sayth not the lawe the same also?
8 Digo eu estas coisas segundo os homens? Ou não diz a lei também o mesmo?
9 For it ys written in the lawe of Moses. Thou shall not mosell the mouth of the oxe that treadeth out the corne. Doth God take thought for oxen?
9 Pois está escrito na lei de Moisés: Tu não porás focinheira na boca do boi que pisa o grão. Acaso Deus cuida dos bois?
10 Ether sayth he it not all to gedder for oure sakes? For oure sakes no doute this is written: that he which eareth shuld eare in hope: and that he which thressheth in hope shuld be parttaker of his hope.
10 Ou é seguramente por nós que ele diz isso? Por nossa causa, sem dúvida, isto está escrito: Aquele que ara deve arar com esperança, e o que trilha na esperança, deve ser participante da sua esperança.
11 Yf we sowe vnto you spirituall thynges: is it a greate thynge yf we reepe youre carnall thynges
11 Se nós semeamos para vós coisas espirituais, será muito colher de vós as coisas carnais?
12 Yf other be parttakers of this power over you? wherfore are not we rather.Neverthelesse we have not vsed this power: but suffre all thinges lest we shuld hynder the gospell of Christ.
12 Se outros participam deste poder sobre vós, quanto mais nós? Todavia, nós não usamos deste poder; antes, suportamos todas as coisas, para que não impeçamos o evangelho de Cristo.
13 Do ye not vnderstoder how that they which minister in the temple have their fyndynge of the temple? And they which wayte at the aulter are partakers with ye aultre?
13 Não sabeis vós que os que ministram as coisas santas vivem das coisas do templo? E que os que esperam no altar são participantes do altar?
14 Even so also dyd ye lorde ordayne that they which preache ye gospell shuld live of the gospell.
14 Assim também ordenou o Senhor aos que pregam o evangelho, que vivam do evangelho.
15 But I have vsed none of these thinges. Nether wrote I these thinges that it shuld be so done vnto me. For it were better for me to dye the yt eny man shnld take this reioysinge from me
15 Mas nenhuma destas coisas tenho eu usado, nem escrevi estas coisas, para que assim se faça comigo; pois melhor me fora morrer do que algum homem fazer vã esta minha glória.
16 . In that I preache the gospell I have nothinge to reioyce of. For necessite is put vnto me. Wo is it vnto me yf I preache not the gospell.
16 Porque, embora eu pregue o evangelho, não tenho nada que me gloriar, pois essa necessidade é colocada sobre mim; sim, ai de mim, se eu não pregar o evangelho!
17 If I do it with a good will I have a rewarde. But yf I do it agaynst my will an office is committed vnto me.
17 Porque, se o faço de boa vontade, eu tenho uma recompensa; mas, se contra a minha vontade, uma dispensação do evangelho me é confiada.
18 What is my rewarde then? Verely that whe I preache the gospell I make the gospell of Christ fre yt I misvse not myne auctorite in ye gospel
18 Qual é a minha recompensa então? Verdadeiramente, quando eu pregar o evangelho, que eu possa proclamar o evangelho de Cristo sem cobrar, para que eu não abuse do meu poder no evangelho.
19 For though I be fre from all men yet have I made my silfe servaunt vnto all men that I myght wynne the moo.
19 Porque, embora eu seja livre de todos os homens, fiz-me servo de todos, para eu poder ganhar mais.
20 Vnto the Iewes I became as a Iewe to winne ye Iewes. To the that were vnder the lawe was I made as though I had bene vnder the lawe to wynne the that were vnder the lawe.
20 E aos judeus tornei-me como um judeu, para que eu pudesse ganhar os judeus; para aqueles que estão sob a lei, como se estivesse sob a lei, para que eu pudesse ganhar os que estão sob a lei;
21 To them that were without lawe be ca I as though I had bene without lawe (whe I was not without lawe as perteyninge to god but vnder a lawe as concerninge Christ) to wynne the that were without lawe.
21 para os que estão sem lei, como se estivera sem lei (não estando sem lei para com Deus, mas debaixo da lei de Cristo), para que eu pudesse ganhar os que estão sem lei.
22 To the weake became I as weake to wynne the weake. In all thinge I fassioned my silfe to all men to save at ye lest waye some.
22 Aos fracos tornei-me como fraco, para que eu pudesse ganhar os fracos. Fiz-me todas as coisas para todos os homens, para que eu pudesse por todos os meios salvar alguns.
23 And this I do for the gospels sake that I might have my parte therof.
23 E isso eu faço por causa do evangelho, para que eu possa ser participante dele convosco.
24 Perceave ye not how that they which runne in a course runne all yet but one receaveth the rewarde. So runne that ye maye obtayne.
24 Não sabeis que os que correm em uma corrida, todos correm, mas um recebe o galardão? Assim, correi para conquistá-lo.
25 Euery man yt proveth masteryes abstaineth from all thinges. And they do it to obtayne a corruptible croune: but we to obtayne an vncorruptible croune:
25 E todo homem que luta pelo domínio é moderado em todas as coisas. Ora, eles o fazem para obter uma coroa corruptível; mas nós uma incorruptível.
26 I therfore so runne not as at an vncertayne thinge. So fyght I not as one yt beateth the ayer:
26 Portanto, eu assim corro, não como na incerteza; assim eu luto, não como alguém que bate no ar;
27 but I tame my body and bringe it into subieccio lest after that I have preached to other I my silfe shuld be a castawaye.
27 mas mantenho debaixo o meu corpo, e o reduzo à sujeição, para que, por nenhum meio, tendo eu pregado aos outros, eu mesmo seja um rejeitado.
