1 God in tyme past diversly and many wayes spake vnto the fathers by Prophetes:
1 Muitas vezes e de diversos modos outrora falou Deus aos nossos pais pelos profetas.
2 but in these last dayes he hath spoken vnto vs by his sonne whom he hath made heyre of all thinges: by who also he made the worlde.
2 Ultimamente nos falou por seu Filho, que constituiu herdeiro universal, pelo qual criou todas as coisas.
3 Which sonne beynge the brightnes of his glory and very ymage of his substance bearinge vp all thinges with the worde of his power hath in his awne person pourged oure synnes and is sitten on the right honde of the maiestie an hye
3 Esplendor da glória {de Deus} e imagem do seu ser, sustenta o universo com o poder da sua palavra. Depois de ter realizado a purificação dos pecados, está sentado à direita da Majestade no mais alto dos céus,
4 and is more excellent then the angels in as moche as he hath by inheritaunce obteyned an excellenter name then have they.
4 tão superior aos anjos quanto excede o deles o nome que herdou.
5 For vnto which of the angels sayde he ateny tyme: Thou arte my sonne this daye be gate I the? And agayne: I will be his father and he shalbe my sonne.
5 Pois a quem dentre os anjos disse Deus alguma vez: Tu és meu Filho; eu hoje te gerei {Sl 2,7}? Ou então: Eu serei seu Pai e ele será meu Filho {II Sm 7,14}?
6 And agayne whe he bringeth in the fyrst begotten sonne in to the worlde he sayth: And all the angels of God shall worshippe him.
6 E novamente, ao introduzir o seu Primogênito na terra, diz: Todos os anjos de Deus o adorem {Sl 96,7}.
7 And of the angels he sayth: He maketh his angels spretes and his ministres flammes of fyre.
7 Por outro lado, a respeito dos anjos, diz: Ele faz dos seus anjos sopros de vento e dos seus ministros chamas de fogo {Sl 103,4},
8 But vnto the sonne he sayth: God thy seate shalbe forever and ever. The cepter of thy kyngdome is a right cepter.
8 ao passo que do Filho diz: O teu trono, ó Deus, subsiste para a eternidade. O cetro do teu Reino é cetro de justiça.
9 Thou hast loved rightewesnes and hated iniquyte. Wherfore God which is thy God hath anoynted the with ye oyle of gladnes above thy felowes.
9 Amaste a justiça e odiaste a iniqüidade. Por isso, ó Deus, o teu Deus te ungiu com óleo de alegria, mais que aos teus companheiros {Sl 44,7s};
10 And thou Lorde in the begynninge hast layde the foundacion of the erth. And the heves are the workes of thy hondes.
10 e ainda: Tu, Senhor, no princípio dos tempos fundaste a terra, e os céus são obra de tuas mãos.
11 They shall perisshe but thou shalt endure. They all shall wexe olde as doth a garment:
11 Eles passarão, mas tu permaneces. Todos envelhecerão como uma veste;
12 and as a vesture shalt thou chaunge them and they shalbe chaunged. But thou arte all wayes and thy yeres shall not fayle.
12 tu os envolvas como uma capa, e serão mudados. Tu, ao contrário, és sempre o mesmo e os teus anos não acabarão {Sl 103,26s}.
13 Vnto which of the angels sayde he at eny tyme? Sit on my ryght honde tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole.
13 Pois a qual dos anjos disse alguma vez: Assenta-te à minha direita até que eu ponha os teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
14 Are they not all mynistrynge spretes sent to minister for their sakes which shalbe heyres of salvacion?
14 Não são todos os anjos espíritos ao serviço de Deus, que lhes confia missões para o bem daqueles que devem herdar a salvação?
