1 After these deades tydiges were brought vnto Ioseph: that his father was seke. And he toke with him his ij. sones Manasses and Ephraim.
1 Certo dia, não muito tempo depois, avisaram José: “Seu pai está bastante doente”. José foi visitá-lo e levou consigo seus dois filhos, Manassés e Efraim.
2 Then was it sayde vnto Iacob: beholde thy sonne Ioseph commeth vnto the. And Israel toke his strength vnto him and satt vp on the bedd
2 Quando José chegou, anunciaram a Jacó: “Seu filho José está aqui para vê-lo”. Com as forças que lhe restavam, Jacó se sentou na cama.
3 and sayde vnto Ioseph: God all mightie appeared vnto me at lus in the lande of Canaan ad blessed me
3 Jacó disse a José: “O Deus Todo-poderoso me apareceu em Luz, na terra de Canaã, e me abençoou.
4 and sayde vnto me: beholde I will make the growe and will multiplye the and will make a great nombre of people of the and will geue this lande vnto the and vnto thy seed after ye vnto an euerlastinge possession.
4 Ele me disse: ‘Eu o tornarei fértil e multiplicarei seus descendentes. Farei de você muitas nações e darei esta terra de Canaã a seus descendentes como propriedade permanente’.
5 Now therfore thy .ij. sones Manasses ad Ephraim which were borne vnto the before I came to the in to Egipte shalbe myne: euen as Ruben and Simeo shall they be vnto me.
5 “Agora, tomo para mim, como meus próprios filhos, seus dois rapazes, Efraim e Manassés, nascidos aqui na terra do Egito antes de minha chegada. Eles serão meus filhos, como são Rúben e Simeão.
6 And the childern which thou getest after them shalbe thyne awne: but shalbe called with the names of their brethern in their enheritaunces.
6 Os filhos que você tiver depois deles, porém, serão seus e herdarão propriedades dentro do território dos irmãos deles, Efraim e Manassés.
7 And after I came from Mesopotamia Rahel dyed apon my hande in the lande of Canaa by the waye: when I had but a feldes brede to goo vnto Ephrat. And I buried her there in ye waye to Ephrat which is now called Bethlehem.
7 “Muito tempo atrás, quando eu voltava de Padã-Arã, Raquel morreu na terra de Canaã. Ainda estávamos viajando, a certa distância de Efrata (ou seja, Belém). Com grande tristeza, sepultei-a ali mesmo, junto ao caminho para Efrata”.
8 And Israel behelde Iosephes sonnes and sayde: what are these?
8 Em seguida, Jacó olhou para os dois rapazes e perguntou: “Quem são estes?”.
9 And Ioseph sayde vnto his father: they are my sonnes which God hath geuen me here. And he sayde: brynge them to me and let me blesse them.
9 José respondeu: “Estes são os filhos que Deus me deu aqui no Egito”. Jacó disse: “Traga-os mais perto, para que eu os abençoe”.
10 And the eyes of Israell were dymme for age so that he coude not see. And he broughte them to him ad he kyssed the and embraced them.
10 Os olhos de Jacó estavam enfraquecidos por causa da idade, e ele quase não conseguia enxergar. José levou os rapazes para perto dele, e Jacó os beijou e abraçou.
11 And Israel sayde vnto Ioseph: I had not thoughte to haue sene thy face and yet loo God hath shewed it me and also thy seed.
11 Então Jacó disse a José: “Nunca imaginei que voltaria a ver seu rosto, mas agora Deus me permitiu ver também seus filhos!”.
12 And Ioseph toke them awaye from his lappe and they fell on the grounde before him.
12 José tirou os rapazes de junto dos joelhos do avô e se curvou com o rosto no chão.
13 Than toke Ioseph them both: Ephraim in his ryghte hande towarde Israels left hande ad Manasses in his left hande towarde Israels ryghte hande and brought them vnto him.
13 Em seguida, colocou os rapazes na frente de Jacó. Com a mão direita, colocou Efraim diante da mão esquerda de Jacó e, com a mão esquerda, colocou Manassés sob a mão direita de Jacó.
14 And Israel stretched out his righte hande and layde it apon Ephraims head which was the yonger and his lyft hade apon Manasses heed crossinge his handes for manasses was the elder.
14 Mas, ao estender as mãos para colocá-las sobre a cabeça dos rapazes, Jacó cruzou os braços. Pôs a mão direita sobre a cabeça de Efraim, embora fosse o mais novo, e a mão esquerda sobre a cabeça de Manassés, embora fosse o mais velho.
15 And he blessed Ioseph saynge: God before whome my fathers Abraham and Isaac dyd walke and the God which hath fedd me all my life longe vnto this daye
15 Em seguida, abençoou José, dizendo: “Que o Deus diante do qual andaram meu avô, Abraão, e meu pai, Isaque, o Deus que tem sido meu pastor toda a minha vida, até o dia de hoje,
16 And the angell which hath delyuered me fro all euyll blesse these laddes: yt they maye be called after my name and after my father Abraham and Isaac and that they maye growe ad multiplie apo the erth.
16 o Anjo que me resgatou de todo o mal, abençoe estes rapazes. Que eles preservem meu nome e o nome de Abraão e Isaque, e seus descendentes se multipliquem grandemente na terra”.
17 When Ioseph sawe that his father layd his ryghte hande apon the heade of Ephraim it displeased him. And he lifte vpp his fathers hade to haue removed it from Ephraims head vnto Manasses head
17 José, porém, não se agradou quando viu o pai colocar a mão direita sobre a cabeça de Efraim. Por isso, levantou-a para passá-la da cabeça de Efraim para a cabeça de Manassés.
18 and sayde vnto his father: Not so my father for this is the eldest. Put thy right hande apon his head.
18 “Não, meu pai”, disse ele. “Este é o mais velho; coloque a mão direita sobre a cabeça dele.”
19 And his father wold not but sayde: I knowe it well my sonne I knowe it well. He shalbe also a people ad shalbe great. But of a troth his yonger brother shalbe greatter than he and his seed shall be full of people.
19 Mas seu pai se recusou e disse: “Eu sei, meu filho; eu sei. Manassés também se tornará um grande povo, mas seu irmão mais novo será ainda maior. E seus descendentes se tornarão muitas nações”.
20 And he blessed them sainge. At the ensample of these the Israelites shall blesse and saye: God make the as Ephraim and as Manasses. Thus sett he Ephraim before Manasses.
20 Assim, Jacó abençoou os rapazes naquele dia com a seguinte bênção: “O povo de Israel usará seus nomes quando pronunciarem uma bênção. Dirão: ‘Deus os faça prosperar como Efraim e Manassés!’”. Desse modo, Jacó pôs Efraim adiante de Manassés.
21 And Israel sayde vnto Ioseph: beholde I dye. And god shalbe with you and bringe you agayne vnto the land of youre fathers.
21 Então Jacó disse a José: “Morrerei em breve, mas Deus estará com vocês e os levará de volta a Canaã, a terra de seus antepassados.
22 Moreouer I geue vnto the a porcyon of lande aboue thy brethern which I gatt out of the handes of the Amorites with my swerde and wyth my bowe.
22 Em razão de sua autoridade sobre seus irmãos, eu lhe dou uma porção a mais da terra, que tomei dos amorreus com a minha espada e o meu arco”.
