1 When Rahel sawe that she bare Iacob no childern she enuied hir sister and sayde vnto Iacob: geue me childern or ells I am but deed.
1 Quando Raquel viu que não dava filhos a Jacó, teve inveja da irmã e implorou a Jacó: “Dê-me filhos, ou morrerei!”.
2 Than was Iacob wrooth with Rahel saynge: Am I in godes steade which kepeth fro the the frute of thi wobe?
2 Jacó se enfureceu com Raquel. “Por acaso sou Deus?”, perguntou ele. “Foi ele que não permitiu que você tivesse filhos!”
3 The she sayde: here is my mayde Bilha: go in vnto her that she maye beare vpo my lappe that I maye be encreased by her.
3 Raquel lhe disse: “Tome minha serva Bila e deite-se com ela. Ela dará à luz filhos em meu lugar e, por meio dela, também terei uma família”.
4 And she gaue him Bilha hir hadmayde to wife. And Iacob wet in vnto her
4 Então Raquel entregou sua serva Bila a Jacó por mulher, e Jacó se deitou com ela.
5 And Bilha conceaued and bare Iacob a sonne.
5 Bila engravidou e deu um filho a Jacó.
6 Than sayde Rahel. God hath geuen sentece on my syde and hath also herde my voyce and hath geuen me a sonne. Therfore called she him Dan.
6 Raquel o chamou de Dã, pois disse: “Deus me fez justiça! Ouviu meu pedido e me deu um filho!”.
7 And Bilha Rahels mayde coceaued agayne and bare Iacob a nother sonne.
7 Bila engravidou novamente e deu a Jacó o segundo filho.
8 And Rahel sayde. God is turned and I haue made achaunge with my sister and haue gote ye vpper hade. And she called his name Nepthali
8 Raquel o chamou de Naftali, pois disse: “Tive uma luta intensa com minha irmã e venci!”.
9 Whe Lea sawe that she had left bearinge she toke Silpha hir mayde and gaue her Iacob to wiffe.
9 Quando Lia percebeu que tinha parado de engravidar, tomou sua serva Zilpa e a entregou a Jacó por mulher.
10 And Silpha Leas made bare Iacob a sonne.
10 Pouco tempo depois, Zilpa deu um filho a Jacó.
11 Than sayde Lea: good lucke: and called his name Gad.
11 Lia o chamou de Gade, pois disse: “Como sou afortunada!”.
12 And Silpha Leas mayde bare Iacob another sonne.
12 Então Zilpa deu a Jacó o segundo filho.
13 Tha sayd Lea: happy am I for the doughters will call me blessed. And called his name Asser.
13 Lia o chamou de Aser, pois disse: “Como estou alegre! Agora as outras mulheres celebrarão comigo”.
14 And Rube wet out in the wheat haruest and foude mandragoras in the feldes and brought the vnto his mother Lea. Than sayde Rahel to Lea geue me of thy sonnes madragoras.
14 Certo dia, durante a colheita do trigo, Rúben encontrou algumas mandrágoras que cresciam no campo e as trouxe para Lia, sua mãe. Raquel suplicou a Lia: “Por favor, dê-me algumas das mandrágoras de seu filho”.
15 And Lea answered: is it not ynough yt thou hast take awaye my housbode but woldest take awaye my sonnes mandragoras also? Than sayde Rahel well let him slepe with the this nyghte for thy sonnes mandragoras.
15 Lia, porém, respondeu: “Não basta ter roubado meu marido? Agora também quer roubar as mandrágoras de meu filho?”. Raquel propôs: “Em troca de algumas mandrágoras, deixarei que Jacó se deite com você esta noite”.
16 And whe Iacob came from the feldes at euen Lea went out to mete him and sayde: come into me for I haue bought the with my sonnes mandragoras.And he slepte with her that nyghte.
16 Ao entardecer, quando Jacó estava voltando do campo, Lia foi ao seu encontro e disse: “Esta noite você deve se deitar comigo. Paguei por você com algumas mandrágoras que meu filho encontrou”. Assim, naquela noite Jacó se deitou com Lia.
17 And God herde Lea yt she coceaued and bare vnto Iacob yt .v. sonne.
17 Deus respondeu às orações de Lia, que engravidou novamente e deu a Jacó o quinto filho.
18 Than sayde Lea. God hath geue me my rewarde because I gaue my mayde to my housbod and she called him Isachar.
18 Chamou-o de Issacar, pois disse: “Deus me recompensou porque entreguei minha serva por mulher a meu marido”.
19 And Lea coceaued yet agayne and bare Iacob the sexte sonne.
19 Lia engravidou outra vez e deu a Jacó o sexto filho.
20 Than sayde she: God hath endewed me with a good dowry. Now will my housbond dwell with me because I haue borne him .vi. sonnes: and called his name Zabulo.
20 Chamou-o de Zebulom, pois disse: “Deus me deu uma boa recompensa. Agora meu marido me tratará com respeito, porque lhe dei seis filhos”.
21 After that she bare a doughter and called her Dina.
21 Depois, Lia deu à luz uma filha e a chamou de Diná.
22 And God remebred Rahel herde her and made her frutefull:
22 Então Deus se lembrou de Raquel e, em resposta a suas orações, permitiu que ela se tornasse fértil.
23 so that she coceaued and bare a sonne and sayde God hath take awaye my rebuke.
23 Ela engravidou e deu à luz um filho. “Deus tirou a minha humilhação”, declarou,
24 And she called his name Ioseph saynge The lorde geue me yet a nother sonne.
24 e o chamou de José, pois disse: “Que o S enhor me acrescente ainda outro filho!”.
25 As soone as Rahel had borne Ioseph Iacob sayde to Laban: Sede me awaye yt I maye goo vnto myne awne place and cutre
25 Logo depois que Raquel deu à luz José, Jacó disse a Labão: “Por favor, libere-me para que eu volte à minha terra natal.
26 geue me my wives and my childern for whome I haue serued the and let me goo; for thou knowest what seruyce I haue done the.
26 Permita-me levar minhas mulheres e meus filhos, pelos quais o servi, e deixe-me partir. O senhor sabe muito bem como trabalhei arduamente a seu serviço”.
27 Than sayde Laban vnto hi: If I haue fownde fauoure in thy syghte (for I suppose yt the LORde hath blessed me for thy sake)
27 Labão respondeu: “Se mereço seu favor, fique. Eu enriqueci, pois o S enhor me abençoou por sua causa.
28 appoynte what thy rewarde shalbe and I will geue it ye.
28 Diga-me qual será seu salário e, qualquer que seja o valor, eu lhe pagarei”.
29 But he sayde vnto hym thou knowest what seruyce I haue done ye and in what takynge thy catell haue bene vnder me:
29 Jacó respondeu: “O senhor sabe como trabalhei arduamente a seu serviço e como seus rebanhos cresceram sob meus cuidados.
30 for it was but litle that thou haddest before I came and now it is encreased in to a multitude and the LORDE hath blessed the for my sake.But now when shall I make provysion for myne awne house also?
30 De fato, o senhor tinha pouco antes de eu chegar, mas sua riqueza aumentou consideravelmente. O S enhor o abençoou por meio de tudo que eu fiz. Mas e quanto a mim? Quando começarei a cuidar de minha própria família?”.
31 And he sayde: what shall I geue the? And Iacob answerd: thou shalt geue me nothinge at all yf thou wilt do this one thinge for me: And then will I turne agayne and fede thy shepe and kepe them.
31 “Quanto quer receber de salário?”, perguntou Labão mais uma vez. Jacó respondeu: “Não me dê coisa alguma. Se o senhor fizer o que lhe direi, continuarei a cuidar de seus rebanhos:
32 I will go aboute all thy shepe this daye and separate fro the all the shepe that are spotted and of dyverse coloures and all blacke shepe amonge the lambes and the partie and spotted amonge the kyddes: And then such shalbe my rewarde.
32 deixe-me inspecionar seus rebanhos hoje e remover todas as ovelhas e cabras salpicadas e malhadas, além de todas as ovelhas pretas. Elas serão o meu salário.
33 So shall my rightwesnes answere for me: when the tyme commeth that I shall receaue my rewarde of the: So that what soeuer is not speckeld and partie amonge the gootes and blacke amonge the lambes let that be theft with me.
33 No futuro, quando o senhor conferir os animais que me deu como salário, verá que fui honesto. Se encontrar em meu rebanho alguma cabra que não seja salpicada ou malhada, ou alguma ovelha que não seja preta, saberá que as roubei do senhor”.
34 Than sayde Laban: loo I am contete that it be acordinge as thou hast sayde.
34 “Está bem”, respondeu Labão. “Será como você diz.”
35 And he toke out that same daye the he gootes that were partie and of dyuerse coloures and all the she gootes that were spotted and partie coloured and all that had whyte in the and all the blacke amonge the lambes: ad put the in the kepinge of his sonnes
35 Naquele mesmo dia, porém, Labão saiu e tirou do rebanho todos os bodes listrados e malhados, todas as cabras salpicadas e malhadas ou com manchas brancas, e todas as ovelhas pretas. Colocou os animais sob os cuidados de seus filhos,
36 and sett thre dayes ourney ibetwixte hiselfe and Iacob. And so Iacob kepte ye rest of Labas shepe.
36 que os levaram a um lugar a três dias de viagem de onde Jacó estava. Assim, Jacó ficou e tomou conta do resto do rebanho de Labão.
37 Iacob toke roddes of grene popular hasell and of chestnottrees and pilled whyte strakes in the and made the white apere in the staues:
37 Então Jacó pegou alguns galhos verdes de álamo, amendoeira e plátano e removeu tiras das cascas, formando listras brancas nos galhos.
38 And he put the staues which he had pilled eue before ye shepe in the gutters and watrynge troughes whe the shepe came to drynke: yt they shulde coceaue whe they came to drynke.
38 Em seguida, colocou os galhos descascados junto aos bebedouros onde os rebanhos iam beber água, pois era ali que se acasalavam.
39 And the shepe coceaued before the staues and brought forth straked spotted and partie.
39 Quando se acasalavam diante desses galhos descascados com listras brancas, davam crias listradas, salpicadas e malhadas.
40 The Iacob parted the labes and turned the faces of the shepe toward spotted thinges and toward all maner of blacke thinges thorow out the flockes of Laba. And he made him flockes of his owne by the selfe which he put not vnto the flockes of Laba.
40 Jacó separava esses cordeiros do rebanho de Labão. Na época do cio, colocava o rebanho de frente para os animais listrados e pretos de Labão. Assim, Jacó foi formando seu próprio rebanho, que mantinha separado do de Labão.
41 And allwaye in the first buckinge tyme of the shepe Iacob put the staues before the shepe in the gutters yt they myghte conceaue before the staues
41 Sempre que as fêmeas mais fortes estavam no cio, Jacó colocava os galhos descascados nos bebedouros em frente delas, para que se acasalassem diante dos galhos.
42 But in the latter buckynge tyme he put them not there: so the last brode was Labas and the first Iacobs.
42 Não fazia o mesmo, porém, com as fêmeas mais fracas, de modo que as crias mais fracas ficavam com Labão, e as mais fortes, com Jacó.
43 And the man became excedynge ryche and had many shepe maydeseruauntes menseruauntes camels and asses.
43 O resultado foi que Jacó se tornou muito rico, dono de grandes rebanhos e também de servos e servas e muitos camelos e jumentos.
