1 And the Lord sayde vnto Moses: yet wil I brynge one plage moare vppon Pharao and vppon Egipte, and after that he wyll lett you goo hence. And when he letteth you goo, he shall vtterly dryue you hence.
1 Então o S enhor disse a Moisés: “Atingirei o faraó e a terra do Egito com mais uma praga. Depois disso, o faraó os deixará sair de seu território. Quando, por fim, ele permitir que saiam, praticamente os expulsará.
2 But byd the people that euery man borowe of his neghbour and euery woman of hir neghbouresse: iewels off syluer and iewels of golde.
2 Diga a todos os homens e mulheres israelitas que peçam objetos de prata e ouro a seus vizinhos egípcios”.
3 And the Lorde gatt the people fauoure in the syghte of the Egiptians. Moreouer Moses was very great in the lande of Egipte: both in the syghte of Pharao, and also in the syghte of the people.
3 (O S enhor havia feito os egípcios verem o povo com bons olhos. Moisés era tido em alta consideração na terra do Egito e respeitado tanto pelos oficiais do faraó como pelo povo egípcio.)
4 And Moses sayde: thus sayth the Lorde. Aboute mydnyghte will I goo out amonge the Egiptians,
4 Moisés disse: “Assim diz o S enhor : À meia-noite de hoje, passarei pelo meio do Egito.
5 and all the firstborne in the land of Egipte shall dye: euen from the firstborne off Pharao that sitteth on his seate, vnto the firstborne of the maydeservaunte that is in the mylle, and all the firstborne of the catell.
5 Morrerão todos os filhos mais velhos do sexo masculino, em todas as famílias do Egito, desde o filho mais velho do faraó, sentado em seu trono, até o filho mais velho da serva mais humilde que trabalha no moinho. Até mesmo os primeiros machos dentre todos os animais morrerão.
6 And there shall be a great crye thorow out all the lande off Egipte: so that there was neuer none lyke nor shall be.
6 Então se ouvirá um grande lamento na terra do Egito, um lamento como nunca houve e nunca mais haverá.
7 And among all the childern of Israel shall not a dogg move his tongue, nor yet man or beest: that ye may knowe, how the Lorde putteth a difference betwene the Egiptias and Israel.
7 Quanto aos israelitas, porém, nem um cão latirá contra eles ou seus animais. Com isso vocês saberão que o S enhor faz distinção entre os egípcios e os israelitas.
8 And all these thy servauntes shal come downe vnto me, and fall before me ad saye get the out and all the people that are vnder the, and than will I departe. And he went out from Pharao in a great anger.
8 Todos os oficiais do Egito virão até mim e se curvarão, suplicando: ‘Por favor, vá embora! Saia logo do Egito e leve com você todo este povo que o segue!’. Só então eu sairei!”. E, ardendo de ira, Moisés saiu da presença do faraó.
9 And the Lorde sayde vnto Moses: Pharao shall not regarde you, that many wondres may be wrought in the lande of Egipte,
9 O S enhor tinha avisado a Moisés: “O faraó não lhe dará ouvidos, por isso farei milagres ainda mais poderosos na terra do Egito”.
10 And Moses ad Aaro dyd all these wondres before Pharao. But the Lorde hardened Pharaos herte, so that he wolde not let the childern of Israel goo out of his londe.
10 Moisés e Arão fizeram todos esses milagres na presença do faraó, mas o S enhor lhe endureceu o coração, e ele se recusou a deixar o povo de Israel sair de sua terra.
