1 Saul had pleasure in his deeth. And at yt tyme there was a great persecucion agaynst the congregacion which was at Ierusalem and they were all scattered abroade thorowout the regions of Iury and Samaria except the Apostles
1 E Saulo aprovou a morte de Estêvão. Naquele mesmo dia a igreja de Jerusalém começou a sofrer uma grande perseguição. E todos os cristãos, menos os
2 Then devout men dressed Steven aud made great lamentacion over him.
2 Alguns homens religiosos sepultaram Estêvão e choraram muito por causa da sua morte.
3 But Saul made havocke of the congregacion entrynge into every housse and drewe out bothe man and woman and thrust the into preson.
3 Porém Saulo se esforçava para acabar com a igreja. Ele ia de casa em casa, arrastava homens e mulheres e os jogava na cadeia.
4 They that were scattered abroade went every where preachyng the worde.
4 Aqueles que tinham sido espalhados anunciavam o evangelho por toda parte.
5 Then came Philip into a cite of Samaria and preached Christ vnto them.
5 Filipe foi até a capital da Samaria e anunciava Cristo às pessoas dali,
6 And the people gave hede vnto those thinges which Philip spake with one acorde in that they hearde and sawe the miracles which he dyd.
6 e as multidões ouviam com atenção o que ele dizia. Todos o escutavam e viam os milagres que ele fazia.
7 For vnclene spretes cryinge with loude voyce came out of many that were possessed of them. And manye taken with palsies and many yt halted were healed
7 Os espíritos maus, gritando, saíam de muitas pessoas, e muitos coxos e paralíticos eram curados.
8 And ther was great ioye in that cite.
8 E assim o povo daquela cidade ficou muito alegre.
9 And ther was a certayne man called Simon which before tyme in the same cite vsed witche crafte and bewitched the people of Samarie sayinge that he was a man yt coulde do greate thinges
9 Morava ali um homem chamado Simão, que desde algum tempo atrás fazia feitiçaria entre os samaritanos e os havia deixado muito admirados. Ele se fazia de importante,
10 Whom they regarded from ye lest to the greatest sayinge: this felow is the great power of God.
10 e os moradores de Samaria, desde os mais importantes até os mais humildes, escutavam com muita atenção o que ele dizia. Eles afirmavam: — Este homem é o poder de Deus! Ele é “o Grande Poder”!
11 And him they set moche by because of longe tyme with sorcery he had mocked the.
11 Eles davam atenção ao que Simão fazia porque durante muito tempo ele os havia deixado assombrados com as suas feitiçarias.
12 But assone as they beleved Philippes preachynge of the kyngdome of God and of the name of Iesu Christ they were baptised bothe men and wemen.
12 Mas eles acreditaram na mensagem de Filipe a respeito da boa notícia do Reino de Deus e a respeito de Jesus Cristo e foram batizados, tanto homens como mulheres.
13 Then Simon him selfe beleved also and was baptised and cotinued with Phillip and wondered beholdynge the miracles and signes which were shewed.
13 O próprio Simão também creu. E, depois de ser batizado, acompanhava Filipe de perto, muito admirado com os grandes milagres e maravilhas que ele fazia.
14 When ye Apostles which were at Ierusalem hearde saye that Samaria had receaved ye worde of God: they sent vnto the Peter and Iohn
14 Os apóstolos , que estavam em Jerusalém, ficaram sabendo que o povo de Samaria também havia recebido a palavra de Deus e por isso mandaram Pedro e João para lá.
15 which when they were come prayed for the that they myght receave ye holy goost
15 Quando os dois chegaram, oraram para que a gente de Samaria recebesse o Espírito Santo,
16 For as yet he was come on none of them: But they were baptised only in the name of Christ Iesu.
16 pois o Espírito ainda não tinha descido sobre nenhum deles. Eles apenas haviam sido batizados em nome do Senhor Jesus.
17 Then layde they their hondes on them and they receaved the holy goost.
17 Aí Pedro e João puseram as mãos sobre eles, e assim eles receberam o Espírito Santo.
18 When Simo sawe that thorowe layinge on of the Apostles hondes on them the holy goost was geven: he offered the money
18 Simão viu que, quando os apóstolos punham as mãos sobre as pessoas, Deus dava a elas o Espírito Santo. Por isso ofereceu dinheiro a Pedro e a João,
19 sayinge: Geve me also this power that on whom soever I put the hondes he maye receave the holy goost.
19 dizendo: — Quero que vocês me deem também esse poder. Assim, quando eu puser as mãos sobre alguém, essa pessoa receberá o Espírito Santo.
20 Then sayde Peter vnto him: thy monye perysh with the because thou wenest that the gifte of God maye be obteyned wt money.
20 Então Pedro respondeu: — Que Deus mande você e o seu dinheiro para o inferno! Você pensa que pode conseguir com dinheiro o
21 Thou hast nether parte nor felloushippe in this busines. For thy hert is not ryght in the syght of God.
21 Você não tem direito de tomar parte no nosso trabalho porque o seu coração não é honesto diante de Deus.
22 Repent therfore of this thy wickednes and praye God that ye thought of thyne hert maye be forgeven the.
22 Arrependa-se, deixe o seu plano perverso e peça ao Senhor que o perdoe por essa má intenção.
23 For I perceave that thou arte full of bitter gall and wrapped in iniquite.
23 Vejo que você está cheio de inveja, uma inveja amarga como fel, e vejo também que você está preso pelo pecado.
24 Then answered Simon and sayde: Praye ye to the lorde for me yt none of these thinges whiche ye have spoken fall on me.
24 Aí Simão disse a Pedro e a João: — Por favor, peçam ao Senhor por mim para que não aconteça comigo nada do que vocês disseram.
25 And they whe they had testified and preached the worde of the lorde returned toward Ierusalem and preached the gospell in many cities of the Samaritas.
25 Depois de terem dado o seu testemunho e de terem pregado a palavra do Senhor, Pedro e João voltaram para Jerusalém. No caminho eles espalhavam o evangelho em muitos povoados da Samaria.
26 Then the angell of the lorde spake vnto Phillip sayinge: aryse and goo towardes mydde daye vnto ye waye yt goeth doune fro Ierusalem vnto Gaza which is in ye desert.
26 Um anjo do Senhor disse a Filipe: — Apronte-se e vá para o Sul, pelo caminho que vai de Jerusalém até a cidade de Gaza. (Pouca gente passava por aquele caminho.)
27 And he arose and wet on. And beholde a man of Ethiopia which was a chaberlayne and of grete auctorite wt Cadace quene of ye Ethiopias and had ye rule of all her treasure came to Ierusalem for to praye.

28 And as he returned home agayne sittynge in his charet he rede Esay ye prophet
28 — ausente —
29 Then ye sprete sayde vnto Phillip: Goo neare and ioyne thy selfe to yonder charet.
29 Então o Espírito Santo disse a Filipe: — Chegue perto dessa carruagem e acompanhe-a.
30 And Philip ranne to him and hearde him rede ye prophet Esayas and sayde: Vnderstondest thou what thou redest?
30 Filipe correu para perto da carruagem e ouviu o funcionário lendo o livro do profeta Isaías. Aí perguntou: — O senhor entende o que está lendo?
31 And he sayd: how can I except I had a gyde? And he desyred Philip that he wold come vp and sit wt him.
31 — Como posso entender se ninguém me explica? — respondeu o funcionário. Então convidou Filipe para subir e sentar-se com ele na carruagem.
32 The tenoure of ye scripture which he redde was this. He was ledde as a shepe to be slayne: and lyke a lambe dome before his sherer so opened he not his mouth.
32 A parte das Escrituras Sagradas que o funcionário estava lendo era esta: “Ele era como um cordeiro que é levado para ser morto; era como uma ovelha que fica muda quando cortam a sua lã. Ele não disse nada.
33 Because of his humblenes he was not estemed: who shall declare his generacio? for his lyfe is taken fro the erthe.
33 Foi humilhado, e foram injustos com ele. Ninguém poderá falar a respeito de descendentes dele, já que a sua vida na terra chegou ao fim.”
34 The chamberlayne answered Philip and sayde: I praye the of whom speaketh the Prophet this? of him selfe or of some other man?
34 O funcionário perguntou a Filipe: — Por favor, me explique uma coisa! De quem é que o profeta está falando isso? É dele mesmo ou de outro?
35 And Philip opened his mouth and beganne at ye same scripture and preached vnto him Iesus.
35 Então, começando com aquela parte das Escrituras, Filipe anunciou ao funcionário a boa notícia a respeito de Jesus.
36 And as they went on their waye they came vnto a certayne water and the chamberlayne sayde: Se here is water what shall let me to be baptised?
36 Enquanto estavam viajando, chegaram a um lugar onde havia água. Então o funcionário disse: — Veja! Aqui tem água. Será que eu não posso ser batizado?
37 Philip sayde vnto him: Yf thou beleve with all thyne hert thou mayst. He answered and sayde: I beleve that Iesus Christe is the sonne of God.
37 [Filipe respondeu: — Se o senhor crê de todo o coração, é claro que pode. E o funcionário disse: — Sim, eu creio que Jesus Cristo é o Filho de Deus.]
38 And he comaunded the charet to stonde still. And they went doune bothe into the water: bothe Philip and also the chamberlayne and he baptised him.
38 Ele mandou parar a carruagem, os dois entraram na água, e Filipe o batizou ali.
39 And assone as they were come out of the water the sprete of the lorde caught awaye Philip yt the chamberlayne sawe him no moore. And he wet on his waye reioysinge:
39 Quando eles estavam saindo da água, o Espírito do Senhor levou Filipe embora. O funcionário não viu mais Filipe, porém continuou a sua viagem, cheio de alegria.
40 but Philip was founde at Azotus. And he walked thorow out ye countre preachynge in their cities tyll he came to Cesarea.
40 De repente, Filipe se encontrou na cidade de Azoto e seguiu viagem, anunciando o evangelho por todas as cidades até chegar a Cesareia.
