1 A certayne man named Ananias with Saphira his wyfe solde a possession
1 Mas um homem chamado Ananias, casado com uma mulher que se chamava Safira, vendeu um terreno
2 and kepte awaye parte of the pryce (his wyfe also beynge of counsell) and brought a certayne parte and layde it doune at the Apostles fete.
2 e só entregou uma parte do dinheiro aos apóstolos , ficando com o resto. E Safira sabia disso.
3 Then sayde Peter: Ananias how is it that Satan hath filled thyne hert that thou shuldest lye vnto the holy goost and kepe awaye parte of the pryce of the lyvelod:
3 Então Pedro disse a Ananias: — Por que você deixou Satanás dominar o seu coração? Por que mentiu para o Espírito Santo? Por que você ficou com uma parte do dinheiro que recebeu pela venda daquele terreno?
4 Pertayned it not vnto the only and after it was solde was not the pryce in thyne awne power? How is it that thou hast coceaved this thinge in thyne herte? Thou hast not lyed vnto men but vnto God.
4 Antes de você vendê-lo, ele era seu; e, depois de vender, o dinheiro também era seu. Então por que resolveu fazer isso? Você não mentiu para seres humanos — mentiu para Deus!
5 When Ananias herde these wordes. he fell doune and gave vp the goost. And great feare came on all the that these thinges hearde.
5 Assim que ouviu isso, Ananias caiu morto; e todos os que souberam do que havia acontecido ficaram com muito medo.
6 And the yonge men roose vp and put him a parte and caryed him out and buryed him.
6 Então vieram alguns moços, cobriram o corpo de Ananias, levaram para fora e o sepultaram.
7 And it fortuned as it were aboute the space of .iii. houres after that his wyfe came in ignoraunt of that which was done.
7 A mulher de Ananias chegou umas três horas depois, sem saber do que havia acontecido com o marido.
8 And Peter sayde vnto her: Tell me gave ye the londe for so moche? And she sayde: ye for so moche
8 Aí Pedro perguntou a ela: — Me diga! Foi por este preço que você e o seu marido venderam o terreno? — Foi! — respondeu ela.
9 Then Peter sayde vnto her: why have ye agreed to gether to tept the sprete of the Lorde? Beholde the fete of them which have buryed thy husbande are at the dore and shall cary the out.
9 Então Pedro disse: — Por que você e o seu marido resolveram pôr à prova o Espírito do Senhor? Os moços que acabaram de sepultar o seu marido já estão lá na porta e agora vão levar você também.
10 Then she fell doune strayght waye at his fete and yelded vp the goost. And the yonge men came in and founde her ded and caryed her out and buryed her by her husbande.
10 No mesmo instante ela caiu morta aos pés de Pedro. Os moços entraram e, vendo que ela estava morta, levaram o corpo dela e o sepultaram ao lado do marido.
11 And great feare came on all the congregacion and on as many as hearde it.
11 E toda a igreja e todos aqueles que souberam disso ficaram apavorados.
12 By the hondes of the Apostles were many signes and wondres shewed amoge the people. And they were all together with one acorde in Salomons porche.
12 Os apóstolos faziam muitos milagres e maravilhas entre o povo, e os seguidores de Jesus se reuniam no Alpendre de Salomão .
13 And of other durst no man ioyne him selfe to them: neverthelater the people magnyfied them.
13 Ninguém de fora tinha coragem de se juntar ao grupo deles, mas o povo falava muito bem deles.
14 The noumbre of them that beleved in the Lorde bothe of men and wemen grewe moare and moare:
14 Uma multidão de homens e mulheres também creu no Senhor e veio aumentar ainda mais o grupo.
15 in so moche that they brought the sicke into the strettes and layde them on beddes and palettes that at the lest waye the shadowe of Peter when he came by myght shadowe some of them.
15 Por causa dos milagres que os apóstolos faziam, as pessoas punham os doentes nas ruas, em camas e esteiras. Faziam isso para que, quando Pedro passasse, pelo menos a sua sombra cobrisse alguns deles.
16 There came also a multitude out of ye cities roud about vnto Ierusalem bringynge sicke folkes and them which were vexed with vnclene spretes. And they were healed every one.
16 Multidões vinham das cidades vizinhas de Jerusalém trazendo os seus doentes e os que eram dominados por espíritos maus, e todos eram curados.
17 Then ye chefe preste rose vp and all they that were with him (which is the secte of the Saduces) and were full of indignacion
17 Então o Grande Sacerdote e todos os seus companheiros, que eram do partido dos saduceus , ficaram com inveja dos apóstolos e resolveram fazer alguma coisa.
18 and layde hondes on the Apostles and put them in the comen preson.
18 Prenderam os apóstolos e os puseram na cadeia.
19 But the angell of the Lorde by nyght openned the preson dores and brought them forthe and sayde:
19 Mas naquela noite um anjo do Senhor abriu os portões da cadeia, levou os apóstolos para fora e disse:
20 goo steppe forthe and speake in the temple to the people all the wordes of this lyfe.
20 — Vão para o Templo e anunciem ao povo tudo a respeito desta nova vida.
21 When they hearde that they entred into the temple erly in the morninge and taught. The chefe prest came and they that were with him and called a counsell to gedder and all the elders of the chyldren of Israel and sent to the preson to fet them.
21 Os apóstolos obedeceram e no dia seguinte, bem cedo, entraram no pátio do Templo e começaram a ensinar. Então o Grande Sacerdote e os seus companheiros chamaram os líderes do povo para uma reunião do
22 When the ministres came and founde them not in the preson they returned and tolde
22 Porém, quando os guardas chegaram lá, não encontraram os apóstolos. Então voltaram para o lugar onde o Conselho estava reunido
23 sayinge: the preson founde we shut as sure as was possible and the kepers stondynge with out before ye dores. But whe we had opened we founde no man with in.
23 e disseram: — Nós fomos até lá e encontramos a cadeia bem-fechada, e os guardas vigiando os portões; mas, quando os abrimos, não achamos ninguém lá dentro.
24 When the chefe prest of all and the ruler of the temple and the hye prestes hearde these thinges they douted of them whervnto this wolde growe.
24 Quando os chefes dos sacerdotes e o chefe da guarda do Templo ouviram isso, ficaram sem saber o que pensar sobre o que havia acontecido com os apóstolos.
25 Then came one and shewed them: beholde ye men yt ye put in preson stonde in the teple and teache the people.
25 Nesse momento chegou alguém, dizendo: — Escutem! Os homens que vocês prenderam estão lá no pátio do Templo ensinando o povo!
26 . Then went the ruler of the teple with ministers and brought the with out violence. For they feared the people lest they shuld have bene stoned.
26 Então o chefe da guarda do Templo e os seus homens saíram e trouxeram os apóstolos. Mas não os maltrataram porque tinham medo de serem apedrejados pelo povo.
27 And when they had brought them they set them before the counsell. And ye chefe preste axed the
27 Depois puseram os apóstolos em frente do Conselho. E o Grande Sacerdote disse:
28 sayinge: dyd not we straytely comaunde you that ye shuld not teache in this name? And beholde ye have filled Ierusalem with youre doctrine and ye intende to brynge this mans bloud vpon vs.
28 — Nós ordenamos que vocês não ensinassem nada a respeito daquele homem. E o que foi que vocês fizeram? Espalharam esse ensinamento por toda a cidade de Jerusalém e ainda querem nos culpar pela morte dele!
29 Peter and the other Apostles answered and sayde: We ought moare to obey God then men.
29 Então Pedro e os outros apóstolos responderam: — Nós devemos obedecer a Deus e não às pessoas.
30 The God of oure fathers raysed vp Ie Iesus whom ye slewe and hanged on tre.
30 Os senhores crucificaram Jesus, mas o Deus dos nossos antepassados o ressuscitou.
31 Him hath god lifte vp with his right hand to be a ruler and a savioure for to geve repetauce to Israell and forgevenes of synnes.
31 E Deus o colocou à sua direita como Líder e Salvador, para dar ao povo de Israel oportunidade de se arrepender e receber o perdão dos seus pecados.
32 And we are his recordes concernynge these thinges and also the holy goost whom God hath geve to them yt obey him.
32 Nós somos testemunhas de tudo isso — nós e o Espírito Santo, que Deus dá aos que lhe obedecem.
33 When they hearde yt they clave asunder: and sought meanes to slee them.
33 Quando os membros do Conselho ouviram isso, ficaram com tanta raiva, que resolveram matar os apóstolos.
34 Then stode ther vp one in ye counsell a Pharisey named Gamaliel a doctoure of lawe had in auctorite amoge all the people and commaunded to put the Apostles a syde a lytell space
34 Mas levantou-se um dos membros do Conselho, um fariseu chamado Gamaliel, que era um mestre da Lei respeitado por todos. Ele mandou que levassem os apóstolos para fora e os deixassem ali um pouco.
35 and sayde vnto them: Men of Israel take hede to youre selves what ye entende to do as touchinge these men
35 Então disse ao Conselho: — Homens de Israel, cuidado com o que vão fazer com estes homens.
36 Before these dayes rose vp one Theudas bostinge him selfe to whom resorted a nombre of men about a foure hondred which was slayn and they all which beleved him were scatred a broode and brought to nought.
36 Há pouco tempo apareceu um homem chamado Teudas, que se dizia muito importante e que com isso conseguiu reunir quatrocentos seguidores. Mas ele foi morto, todos os seus seguidores foram espalhados, e a revolta dele fracassou.
37 After this man arose ther vp one Iudas of Galile in the tyme when tribute began and drewe awaye moche people after him. He also perisshed: and all even as many as harkened to him are scattered a brood.
37 Depois disso apareceu Judas, o Galileu, na época do recenseamento. Este também conseguiu juntar muita gente, mas foi morto, e todos os seus seguidores foram espalhados.
38 And now I saye vnto you: refrayne youre selves from these men let them alone. For yf ye cousell or this worke be of men it will come to nought.
38 Portanto, neste caso de agora, não façam nada contra estes homens. Deixem que vão embora porque, se este plano ou este trabalho vem de seres humanos, ele desaparecerá.
39 But and yf it be of God ye can not destroye it lest haply ye be founde to stryve agaynst God.
39 Mas, se vem de Deus, vocês não poderão destruí-lo, pois neste caso estariam lutando contra Deus. E o Conselho aceitou a opinião de Gamaliel.
40 And to him they agreed and called the Apostles and bet them and comaunded that they shuld not speake in ye name of Iesu and let them goo.
40 Então chamaram os apóstolos e os chicotearam; e aí mandaram que nunca mais falassem nada a respeito de Jesus. Depois os soltaram.
41 And they departed from the counsell reioysynge yt they were counted worthy to soffre rebuke for his name.
41 Os apóstolos saíram do Conselho muito alegres porque Deus havia achado que eles eram dignos de serem insultados por serem seguidores de Jesus.
42 And dayly in the teple and in every housse they ceased not teachinge and preachinge Iesus Christ.
42 E, todos os dias, no pátio do Templo e de casa em casa, eles continuavam a ensinar e a anunciar a boa notícia a respeito de Jesus, o Messias .
