5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Catamakxtekkō'lh a'ntūn tū' tzey lā' catatlahualh a'ntūn tzey.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Dios cāmaktaka'lha a'ntī lactzeya chi'xcuhuī'n.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Nīn tintī' caticātlahuani'ni a'ntūn tū' tzey palh hui'xina'n xmān tlahuacu'tunā'tit a'ntūn tzey.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Lā' palh hui'xina'n pātīni'nā'tit xmān por ixpālacata tlahua'yā'tit a'ntūn tzey, chuntza' Dios nacāsicua'lanālīyāni'. Tū' cacājicua'ni'tit huan chi'xcuhuī'n. Tū' catamakchuyī'tit.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Capāstactit que Cristo ū'tza' miMāpa'ksīni'ca'n. Lā' ca'a'kahuāna'ni'tit xmān xla. Skalalh natahui'layā'tit para nakalhtīni'nā'tit a'xni'ca' nacātakalhasqui'ni'yāni' a'chī'n kalhlaka'ī'yā'tit Cristo. Lā' līlacatzucu nakalhtīni'nā'tit hui'xina'n. Lā' capāstactit que Dios cākaxmatmā'ni'.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 A'ntīn tatlahua a'ntūn tū' tzey, xlaca'n nacāmāpātīnīcan. Hui'xina'n tū' cala'tit hua'chi xlaca'n. Xatzey napātīni'nā'tit, palh chuntza' ixtapuhuān Dios, a'yuj tū' tlahuanī'ta'ntit a'ntūn tū' tzey.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
