Twenty: Twentieth Century New Testament (SM_TWENTY) vs VC
1 To the churches in Galatia, from Paul, an Apostle whose commission is not from men and is given, not by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead;
1 Paulo apóstolo - não da parte de homens, nem por meio de algum homem, mas por Jesus Cristo e por Deus Pai que o ressuscitou dos mortos -
2 and from all the Brothers here.
2 e todos os irmãos que estão comigo, às igrejas da Galácia:
3 May God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, bless you and give you peace. For Christ, to rescue us from this present wicked age,
3 a vós, graça e paz da parte de Deus, nosso Pai, e da parte do Senhor Jesus Cristo,
4 gave himself for our sins, in accordance with the will of God and Father,
4 que se entregou por nossos pecados, para nos libertar da perversidade do mundo presente, segundo a vontade de Deus, nosso Pai,
5 to whom be ascribed all glory for ever and ever. Amen.
5 a quem seja dada a glória pelos séculos dos séculos. Amém.
6 I am astonished at your so soon deserting him, who called you through the love of Christ, for a different ‘Good News,’
6 Estou admirado de que tão depressa passeis daquele que vos chamou à graça de Cristo para um evangelho diferente.
7 Which is really no Good News at all. But then, I know that there are people who are harassing you, and who want to pervert the Good News of the Christ.
7 De fato, não há dois {evangelhos}: há apenas pessoas que semeiam a confusão entre vós e querem perturbar o Evangelho de Cristo.
8 Yet even if we — or if an angel from Heaven were to tell you any other ‘Good News’ than that which we told you, may he be accursed!
8 Mas, ainda que alguém - nós ou um anjo baixado do céu - vos anunciasse um evangelho diferente do que vos temos anunciado, que ele seja anátema.
9 We have said it before, and I repeat it now — If any one tells you a ‘Good News’ other than that which you received, may he be accursed!
9 Repito aqui o que acabamos de dizer: se alguém pregar doutrina diferente da que recebestes, seja ele excomungado!
10 Is this, I ask, trying to conciliate men, or God? Am I seeking to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I should not be a servant of Christ.
10 É, porventura, o favor dos homens que eu procuro, ou o de Deus? Por acaso tenho interesse em agradar aos homens? Se quisesse ainda agradar aos homens, não seria servo de Cristo.
11 I would remind you, Brothers, that the Good News which I told is no mere human invention.
11 Asseguro-vos, irmãos, que o Evangelho pregado por mim não tem nada de humano.
12 I, at least, did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through a revelation made by Jesus Christ.
12 Não o recebi nem o aprendi de homem algum, mas mediante uma revelação de Jesus Cristo.
13 You heard, no doubt, of my conduct when I was devoted to Judaism — how I persecuted the Church of God to an extent beyond belief, and made havoc of it,
13 Certamente ouvistes falar de como outrora eu vivia no judaísmo, com que excesso perseguia a Igreja de Deus e a assolava;
14 and how, in my devotion to Judaism, I surpassed many of my contemporaries among my own people in my intense earnestness in upholding the traditions of my ancestors.
14 avantajava-me no judaísmo a muitos dos meus companheiros de idade e nação, extremamente zeloso das tradições de meus pais.
15 But when God, who had set me apart even before my birth, and who called me by his love,
15 Mas, quando aprouve àquele que me reservou desde o seio de minha mãe e me chamou pela sua graça,
16 saw fit to reveal his Son in me, so that I might tell the Good News of him among the Gentiles, then at once, instead of consulting any human being,
16 para revelar seu Filho em minha pessoa, a fim de que eu o tornasse conhecido entre os gentios, imediatamente, sem consultar a ninguém,
17 or even going up to Jerusalem to see those who were Apostles before me, I went to Arabia, and came back again to Damascus.
17 sem ir a Jerusalém para ver os que eram apóstolos antes de mim, parti para a Arábia; de lá regressei a Damasco.
18 Three years afterwards I went up to Jerusalem to make the acquaintance of Peter, and I stayed a fortnight with him.
18 Três anos depois subi a Jerusalém para conhecer Cefas, e fiquei com ele quinze dias.
19 I did not, however, see any other Apostle, except James, the Master’s brother.
19 Dos outros apóstolos não vi mais nenhum, a não ser Tiago, irmão do Senhor.
20 (As to what I am now writing to you, I call God to witness that I am speaking the truth).
20 Isto que vos escrevo - Deus me é testemunha -, não o estou inventando.
21 Afterwards I went to the districts of Syria and Cilicia.
21 Em seguida, fui para as regiões da Síria e da Cilícia.
22 But I was still unknown even by sight to the Christian Churches in Judea;
22 Eu era ainda pessoalmente desconhecido das comunidades cristãs da Judéia;
23 all that they had heard was — ‘The man who once persecuted us is now telling the Good News of the very Faith of which he once made havoc.’
23 tinham elas apenas ouvido dizer: Aquele que antes nos perseguia, agora prega a fé que outrora combatia.
24 And they praised God on my account.
24 E glorificavam a Deus por minha causa.
