1 Why dost thou boast thyself of wickedness, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of GOD, [lasteth] all the day.
1 Por que te glorias na maldade, ó homem poderoso? Pois a bondade de Deus dura para sempre.
2 Engulfing ruin, doth thy tongue devise, Like a whetted razor, working deceit;
2 A tua língua urde planos de destruição; é qual navalha afiada, ó praticadora de enganos!
3 Thou lovest Evil more than good, Falsehood, more than speaking righteousness. [Selah.]
3 Amas o mal antes que o bem; preferes mentir a falar retamente.
4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O deceitful tongue!
4 Amas todas as palavras devoradoras, ó língua fraudulenta!
5 GOD also, will break thee down utterly, He will snatch thee up and tear thee away tentless, And uproot thee, out of the land of the living. [Selah.]
5 Também Deus te destruirá para sempre; há de arrebatar-te e arrancar-te da tua tenda e te extirpará da terra dos viventes.
6 The righteous shall both see and fear, And, over him, shall laugh:
6 Os justos hão de ver tudo isso, temerão e se rirão dele, dizendo:
7 Lo! the man who made not God his refuge,—But trusted in the abundance of his riches, Emboldened himself in his wealth!
7 Eis o homem que não fazia de Deus a sua fortaleza; antes, confiava na abundância dos seus próprios bens e na sua perversidade se fortalecia.
8 But, I, am like a flourishing olive-tree, in the house of God, I have put confidence in the lovingkindness of God, for times age-abiding and beyond.
8 Quanto a mim, porém, sou como a oliveira verdejante, na Casa de Deus; confio na misericórdia de Deus para todo o sempre.
9 I will praise thee to times age-abiding, Because thou didst effectually work,—And I will wait on thy Name, Because it is good, In the presence of thy men of lovingkindness.
9 Dar-te-ei graças para sempre, porque assim o fizeste; na presença dos teus fiéis, esperarei no teu nome, porque é bom.
